This paper is concerned with the problem of recognizing definition sentences. Given a definition question like "Who is the person X?", we are to retrieve the definition sentences which capture descriptive information correspond variously to a person's age, occupation, of some role a person played in an event from the collection of news articles. In order to retrieve as many relevant sentences for the definition question as possible, we adopt a centroid based statistical approach which has been applied in summarization of multiple documents. To improve the precision and recall performance, the weight measure of centroid words is supplemented by using external knowledge resource such as Wikipedia and redundant candidate sentences are removed from candidate definitions. We see some improvements obtained by our approach over the baseline for 20 IT persons who have high document frequency.

There are no authentic solutions in a face region extraction problem though it is an important part of pattern recognition and has diverse application fields. It is not easy to develop the facial region extraction algorithm because the facial image is very sensitive according to age, sex, and illumination. In this paper, to solve these difficulties, a fuzzy color filer based on the facial region extraction algorithm is proposed. The fuzzy color filter makes the robust facial region extraction enable by modeling the skin color. Especially, it is robust in facial region extraction with various illuminations. In addition, to identify the fuzzy color filter, a linear matrix inequality(LMI) optimization method is used. Finally, the simulation result is given to confirm the superiority of the proposed algorithm.

The purpose of this study was to understand the meaning and nature of long term boarding care of children provided by grandparents in surrogate foster homes. Data were collected from 10 children 15 to 18 years of age by in depth interviews and observation from May 2007 to July 2007. Analysis of data was by the phenomenological analytic method of Giorgi(1970). Seven essential themes were extracted: (1) ambivalence about being labeled "family headed by a child," (2) recognition of the burden to grandparents with appreciation for their care, (3) resentment and yearning for parents, (4) economic hardship, (5) discord with grandparents, (6) maladjustment to school life, and (7) overcoming such obstacles as poor economic conditions and loneliness.

This study examined the consumers' willingness to purchase Genetically Modified Organism(GMO) and the factors to distinguish subjects with differential levels of their willingness to buy GMO. Data were collected from 506 male and female adults in Seoul, Daegu and Susan by the self-administered questionnaire. Frequencies, X²tests, F tests and discriminant analysis were conducted to analyze the data by SPSS Windows. The results of this study were as follows: (1) the concerns and the information-seeking behavior about GMO were generally high, but recognition of GMO was low, (2) the willingness to purchase GMO was generally high in that 2/3 of the subjects were willing to purchase it, and (3) the concerns about GMO, the information-seeking behavior, age and sex were the factors to distinguish acceptors from non-acceptors.

Atelectasis may be defined as collapse of the lung due to absence of air within the alveoli. It may involve anatomic segments, lobes, or whole lungs but also may be a diffuse miliary process, as in the adult respiratory distress syndrome. The key to treatment are the anticipation and prevention of atelectasis in various clinical situations, the recognition and treatment of underlying disease, and the prompt initiation of vigorous treatment once atelectasis is found. Repeated assessment by physical examination is necessary to determine the presence of atelectasis and its response to treatment. During the period of January, 1981 to October, 1990, 100 patients with atelectasis were treated in the department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Pusan National University Hospital. There were 70 males and 30 females ranging from 3 days to 79 years of age. The occurrence ratio of right to left side was 2.1 : 1. The underlying pathologic lesions of atelectasis were pneumonia with effusion(28), lung ca.(24), pulmonary tuberculosis(24), and chronic empyema(9), The treatment procedure for atelectasis were closed thoracostomy in 26 cases, ressection in 21 cases, therapeutic bronchoscopy in 14 cases and etc.

Textile fabrication affected by consumer and selected by fashion designer. The textile fabrication has been made not only by introducing the newly developed fiber but also by modifying the existing textile materials to impart sensibility to them. Consumers choose but to their sensibility of textile material and fashion trend. On purpose in this research is find out have influence on textile image. Wool fabrics have been in use from early age in northern Europe. Recognition of the role of the morphological structure, surface properties, chemical composition, acid-base characteristics in the chemical treatment of wool led to quantum advances in the fields of setting, shrink-resisting, chemical modification, and internal fiber cross-linking. Mechanical finishing to develop the handle, drape, and surface characteristics of the fabric is at least as important as chemical or wet finishing. Result showed that to have variety sensibility and trend theme in wool fabrics are tweed, venetian, serge, gabardine and melton.

The purpose of this study is to provide information to Efficient utilization of human resources management by studying the factors influencing the turnover intention of employees working in the Hospital. The study, the area of medical institutions located in more than 30 hospital-grade medical workers engaged in the collection of data aimed at the September 2010 and October 1 days and 1, 794 were used for the analysis, data processing and analysis package, SPSS 18.0 was used. The findings are as follows: First, the study found that age, job position had a significant and negative effect on turnover intentions. The turnover intention rates were highest among nursing staffs, followed by medical technicians and healthcare supporters and then administrators. Secondly, high degree of autonomy, job skills recognition and less job satisfaction in a positions have been identified to affect the significant. It also has turned out that job suitability and emotional commitment have influenced the turnover intentions.

The purpose of this study is to desires of tourists, tourism research explores how they affect tourist satisfaction. It to tourists visited Seoraksan empirical analysis was carried out. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the tourist desires, depending on age and education, the difference in perception of partially demonstrated. Secondly, the desire was partially affecting tourist satisfaction. These findings could provide new materials to develop a new strategy to satisfy a growing trend in small, individual tourists.

The purpose of this ethnographic study was to observe and understand interactions of toddlers and teachers in context. Specific questions were "What are the motives and features of the interactions between toddlers and teacher?" Subjects were twenty 2-year-old daycare children and their teachers. Methods covered 11 weeks of interviews and participatory observation. The major findings were that the interactions between toddlers and teachers was mainly initiated by toddlers and consist of physiological and emotional needs, conflict mediation and participation in play. As toddler get to the age of self-recognition but still need adult's assistance, the co-existence of dependence and independence was evident. Children used a variety of verbal and non-verbal signals with both positive and non-positive overtons.

To get social recognition and the basis of development of public libraries in the 21st century, the knowledge information age, Public libraries must recognize their social role clearly and perform it effectively. For performance of advisable social role of public libraries, this study proposed that 1) establishment Library's Bill of Rights, 2) abolition of the function of‘reading room’of libraries, 3) reform of the assessment system and introduction of certification system for improvement in service quality, 4) an epoch-making improvement of library collections.
