  • On a liquid propellant PPT, the discharge processes that discharge was initiated and plasma was accelerated was observed by using a ultra high speed camera. Liquid propellant PPT is a pulsed plasma thruster using liquid as propellant. Our past study showed the successful operation of liquid propellant PPT and the thruster showed high specific impulse. However, its acceleration mechanism has not been clarified. In this study we observed the plasma acceleration processes in order to deepen our understanding of the acceleration mechanism.

  • Purpose - Our study aims to analyze and assess aeronautics transport, to bring comprehensive insight about the existing potential in the new member states, candidate countries, potential candidate countries, and associated states. Methodology - The evaluation was carried out by applying qualitative methodology to the research results and on existing capabilities, to assess the overall research capability in the aeronautics transport mode of each country and region, in the European context. Results - Overall, countries with the strongest potential are the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Romania. The aeronautics research potential was evaluated as weak in as many as 11 countries, with Estonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, and Moldova being evaluated as weak in all categories, and Latvia, Croatia, and Serbia being evaluated as weak overall but having at least one category evaluated as medium. Conclusion - Based on the research findings, there are recommendations regarding both the research policy and research activities related to the aeronautics transport mode. The findings contribute to the further development of EU aeronautics research and the aviation industry.

  • In this study, a double-solvent radiation method is proposed to prepare silver nanoparticles in the pores of metal-organic framework MIL-101(Cr). The results reveal that well-dispersed silver nanoparticles with a diameter of about 2 nm were successfully fabricated in the cages of monodisperse octahedral MIL-101(Cr) with a particle size of about 400 nm. The structure of MIL-101(Cr) was not destroyed during the chemical treatment and irradiation. The resulting Ag/MIL-101 exhibits excellent catalytic performance for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol. This method can be extended to prepare other single or bimetallic components inside porous materials.

  • Sulfated $TiO_2$ nanoparticles were successfully immobilized on zeolite through improving hydrolysis-deposition method. Microstructure, crystallization, surface state and surface area of composite catalysts were characterized by SEM, XRD, FTIR spectra, XPS and BET and the photocatalytic activity was evaluated by degradation of methyl orange under UV irradiation. We optimized these factors ($SO^{2-}_4$ ions, calcination temperature and loading amount of sulfated $TiO_2$) on photocatalytic activity and crystallization of composite photocatalysts. The results indicated that the $SO^{2-}_4$ ions are successfully immobilized on the surface of $TiO_2$, and sulfated $TiO_2$/zeolite show the highest photocatalytic activity for methyl orange at the $[SO^{2-}_4 ]/[Ti^{4+}]$ molar rate of 1:1, calcination temperature of $600^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, and sulfated $TiO_2$ loading amount of 40%, respectively.

  • The quality of natural outdoor images captured by visible camera sensors is usually degraded by the haze present in the atmosphere. In this paper, a fast image dehazing method based on visible image and near-infrared fusion is proposed. In the proposed method, a visible and a near-infrared (NIR) image of the same scene is fused based on the dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DT-CWT) to generate a dehazed color image. The color of the fusion image is regulated through haze concentration estimated by dark channel prior (DCP). The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the conventional dehazing methods and effectively solves the color distortion problem in the dehazing process.

  • An experimental research on supersonic combustion of kerosene in a model scramjet combustor has been conducted. Kerosene was injected normally into a Mach 2 vitiated airstream either at an atomized liquid state or at a gaseous state. The atomization of kerosene was achieved by the “effervescent atomization” method, and the gaseous kerosene was supplied by passing kerosene inside a heated pipe. The results are discussed and are also compared to those in our previous experiment, in which no atomization nor vaporization methods has been conducted to the kerosene.
