The Effects of Social Media Influencers' Advertising Disclosure on Consumer Responses on Instagram

  • As many brands use social media influencers (SMIs) on Instagram to advertise, not disclosing advertised content affects how consumers perceive these influencers. The purpose of this study was to investigate two objectives: 1) recent advertising disclosure types on Instagram and 2) the factors that affect consumer responses towards Instagram influencers posting advertised content. Using an experimental 2x2 between-subjects design (N=200), the findings show that "sponsored" and "paid partnership with" are two recent types of ad disclosures. However, both factors are insignificantly different from each other. Also, ad disclosure condition enhances the trustworthiness of the influencer than no disclosure. Ad skepticism, source credibility, and the level of persuasion strongly relate to how consumers perceive Instagram influencers advertising for brands. These factors enable consumers to assess if the influencer is a reliable source of information when faced with advertisement. Ultimately, using disclosure gives full information to consumers about the persuasive intent, as well as increases positive consumer responses towards the influencer who discloses, thereby, enhancing the ethical use of the influencer advertising strategy and long-term consumer relationship.

  • This research aims to examine the cause-and-effect relationship between the user's purchase intention and word-of-mouth for Instagram advertisements. In addition, Instagram currently has many users in the order of Kakao Talk, Facebook, and Instagram. However, most of the previous prior papers are research on the current status of Instagram. Recent research on Instagram advertising has been lacking. This research is academically significant in that it conducted with the focus on advertising on Instagram. In addition, we provide a framework based on future research in that we proposed a model between human psychology and the oral effect on how much Instagram affects purchasing through the theory of emotional response (PAD). Future studies need to demonstrate the relationship between emotion response (PAD) factors that directly affect purchase intent. Finally, it will need to be studied to analyze purchasing patterns using data mining techniques between different social network services.

Customer Loyalty on Household Consumer Goods Distribution: A Survey among the Asian Parent Indonesia Community

  • Purpose: Mothers determines all household requirements and decides almost all their related things. The purpose of this study was to examine several independent variables on customer loyalty among mothers in The Asian Parents Indonesia community. The independent variables include advertising on Instagram, brand image, word-of-mouth, community cohesiveness, while the dependent variable is purchasing decisions. Research design, data, and methodology: This quantitative study uses a survey method for the Asian Parents Indonesia community members, listed on its website. The population of this community was recorded at 1,310, with a sample of 135 respondents. Data processing is done by using Structural Equation Model using Smart-PLS software. Results: Variables that significantly affect purchasing decisions and customer loyalty are word-of-mouth,summarized in a testimony, advertising on Instagram, and brand image. However, community cohesiveness does not affect customer loyalty to a brand. Conclusion: The results of this test propose significant implications for developing the relationship between baby toiletries producers and customers through word-of-mouth testimonials and advertisements on Instagram while community cohesiveness in maintaining customer loyalty using a brand is not influential, but interactions that occur within the community become a reference for mothers to choose a baby toiletries product.

  • Purpose: Low-Cost Carrier airlines attempt to provide the best service for their customers. However, the pandemic has forced airline companies to keep developing new strategies. Moreover, in this digital era, airlines must intensely market their service through social media to reach as many customers as possible. This research aims to study the impact of advertisements on Instagram and the customer experience concerning customer loyalty and satisfaction in the aviation industry. Research design, data, and methodology: This study uses a quantitative explanatory with the combination of the positivism paradigm. The data collection technique is by distributing questionnaires to related airline Instagram followers. Meanwhile, the sample calculation uses using the Slovin formula in which 414 respondents are gained. The collected data is analyzed with Structural Equation Model and using Smart-PLS software. Results: The study results indicate that advertising on Instagram and customer experience significantly positively affect customer satisfaction and loyalty. In addition, the variable customer satisfaction has a significant positive on customer loyalty. Conclusions: The study results indicate that the ease of obtaining information via Instagram can affect satisfaction and will increase when customers have made a flight so that they will become loyal customers.

  • Companies and brands that practice sustainability pay attention to New Media due to its ability to build a sustainable relationship between companies and consumers. The need for research on specific roles, characteristics, and social media effects on eco-friendly advertising has had rapid growth in marketing programs for sustainable activities especially shown through social media. Information about sustainable fashion has spread to consumers through social media, and multifarious efforts have been made to attract the attention of youth. Despite the dramatic increase in eco-friendly marketing through social media as a part of sustainability, there is a lack of research on the major influences of emotional factors such as ad color and expression in social media. In this context, it is meaningful to identify relationships between emotional responses, advertising value and consumer behavior of sustainable fashion brands in Instagram and implement a suitable advertising type (color vs expression) for consumers. We used 366 responses for the final analysis. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, structural equation modeling using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The results of this study suggest that emotional responses, advertising value have a significant effect on the flow. This study expands on a previously limited research field by verifying consumer responses to image advertising on Instagram, rather than general sustainable fashion marketing. The study results also provide meaningful implications for a relation formation between customers and fashion brands vis-${\grave{a}}$-vis sustainable social media marketing.

소셜큐레이션과 광고 - 버티컬 SNS에서 표현된 패션브랜드 이미지의 메시지 전략 - (Social curation as an advertising tool - Message strategy of fashion brand images on vertical SNS -)

  • This paper examines advertising images of fashion brands in vertical social network site (SNS) from the viewpoints of message strategies. Vertical social network sites are types of social curation systems applied to social networking, where information is selected, organized, and maintained. Fashion brands communicate with consumers by presenting images on vertical SNSs, anticipating improvements in brand image, popularity, and loyalty. Those images portray content for particular brands and seasonal concepts, thus creating paths for product sales information. Marketing via SNSs corresponds to relationship marketing, which refers to long-term interrelationship and value augmentation between the company and consumer, and viral advertising, which relies on word of mouth distribution via social network platforms. Taylor's six-segment message strategy wheel, often used for analyzing viral ads, was applied to conduct a content analysis of the images. A total of 2,656 images of fashion brands advertised on Instagram were selected and analyzed. Results indicated that brand values were somewhat related to the number of followers. Follower rankings and comment rankings were also correlated. In general, fashion brands projected sensory messages most often. Acute need and rational messages were less common than other messages. Sports brands and luxury brands presented sensory messages, whereas fast fashion brands projected routine images most often.   • SNS미디어가 디지털 기술의 혜택으로 물리적인 접근성의 편리와 콘텐츠가 갖는 오락성·상호작용성 등의 새로운 미디어의 특장점으로 미디어 점유율을 높이며, 이용자들의 생활의 일부로 자리잡아가고 있다. 미디어 콘텐츠 소비자들이 기존 전통 미디어에서 SNS로 대거 이동함에 따라 마케팅 커뮤니케이션 활동도 페이스북 등 앞서가는 SNS 플랫폼에 발빠르게 적응해 가는 중이다. 본 연구는 미디어 콘텐츠의 생성과 소비 시스템이 서로 비교적 유사한 페이스북, 인스타그램, 카카오스토리, 트위터를 중심으로, 사용자들이 각각의 SNS에서 네 가지 광고속성을 어떻게 인식하는지를 비교하고, 이 속성들이 구전의도에 미치는 영향력을 확인하였다. 또 이를 통한 효과적인 SNS 운용에 대해 논의하였다.

뷰티 상업광고가 20대 남,녀의 뷰티 상품 구매 결정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Beauty Commercial Advertising on Men and Women in Their 20's Purchase of Beauty Products)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 20대 남녀의 뷰티 트렌드 정보를 바탕으로 성별에 따른 뷰티 상업광고의 영향력을 파악하고, 일종의 마케팅 수단으로 쓰이는 뷰티 상업광고의 효과를 확인하고자 한다. 이를 위해 외모에 대한 관심과 SNS 사용이 가장 높은 20대 남녀를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 여성은 접근성, 신뢰성 정보성이 가장 높은 광고로 모두 유튜브 광고를 택했고 남성은 각각 인스타그램 광고, TV 광고, 유튜브 광고를 택했으며 그 결과 20대 여성에게 가장 영향력 있는 광고는 유튜브 광고, 남성에게 가장 영향력 있는 광고는 접근성이 높은 인스타그램 광고라는 점을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 앞으로의 뷰티 시장에서 서비스 및 마케팅 분야에 새로운 전략을 구축하는 데에 활용될 수 있다.

소셜 네트워크 서비스의 만족도를 위한 연구 - 인스타그램과 페이스북의 기능적 요소를 중심으로 - (Research for the satisfaction of social network service - Functional elements of Instagram and Facebook -)

  • 스마트폰과 태블릿 PC까지 끊임없이 변화하고 있는 디지털 콘텐츠 환경 속에서 소셜 네트워크 서비스는 우리 생활 속에 깊이 자리 잡고 있다. 소셜 네트워크 서비스 어플리케이션은 다른 어플리케이션에 비해 다른 사람과의 공유 및 커뮤니케이션을 통한 네트워크를 구축한다는 점에서 개인적인 영역보다는 다른 사람과 함께 공유하는 영역이 많다. 이러한 소셜 네트워크 서비스의 다양성과 경쟁의 흐름은 사용자 경험을 파악하여 트렌드를 예상할 수 있으며, 사용자 만족도를 파악하여 더 나은 서비스의 발전을 기대할 수 있다. 본 연구는 SNS의 확대, 다양성 등의 변화가 있는 시점에서 앱스토어에 상위 링크된 페이스북과 인스타그램 두 어플리케이션을 분석하여 향후 효율적인 어플리케이션 개발 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 따라서 소셜 네트워크의 정보구조 설계자인 진스미스(GENE SMITH)가 제시한 소셜 소프트웨어의 7가지 요소를 기반으로 이론적 기초로 설정했으며, 이를 바탕으로 페이스북과 인스타그램의 기능적 요소를 분석하고 설문을 통한 장단점을 도출하여 연구를 진행했다. 인스타그램과 페이스북 동시 사용자를 대상으로 실증적 분석을 진행한 결과 커뮤니케이션, 신원, 그룹에 대한 만족도는 평등하게 나타났다. 또한 인스타그램은, 존재, 평판에 대해, 페이스북은 공유, 관계에 대해 각각 높은 만족도가 나타났다. 페이스북은 공유의 기능에서 사용 만족도가 가장 높았으나, 보기 싫은 광고 컨텐츠의 공유라는 기능에서 불편함이 나타났다. 이는 광고를 게재하지 않는 인스타그램과 비교 했을 때 향후 페이스북이 사용자 유지를 위해 보완해야 할 점이다. 또한, 인스타그램은 해시태그의 편리성으로 존재의 기능에서 사용도가 페이스북보다 월등히 높은데 비해 전체적인 만족도는 페이스북이 높다. 인스타그램의 만족도를 높이기 위해 페이스북의 가장 큰 장점인 소통, 공유의 기능적인 측면을 고려해 볼 필요가 있다.

Experiencing High Loneliness Increases Evaluation of Products in Social Media Ads

  • This research investigates how loneliness affects people's preferences for products that appear in social media ads. Four studies examine the impact of loneliness that is both measured in an established scale and situationally induced via a recall task. Individuals who experience higher levels of loneliness evaluate the same products more highly when they are advertised in a social (i.e., Instagram) compared to non-social (i.e., brand website) media platform. This effect occurs because loneliness increases people's attention to others' social evaluation of a product, and social media ads provide this information via social cues such as "likes" embedded in the ads. When the social cues are absent, the advantage of advertising on social compared to non-social media for people with high (vs. low) loneliness disappears. The findings suggest that social media ads have a unique appeal for individuals experiencing loneliness and highlight the role of social cues in shaping product evaluations.
