  • In the era of Web 2.0, social media advertising can simultaneously stimulate consumers' brand purchase intention and brand information sharing intention. Product sales and brand information diffusion are equally important for a company that conducts advertising. This study investigates how features of brand content influence social media advertising effectiveness by integrating the stimulus-organism-response model and classic advertising effectiveness models. An analysis of 267 survey questionnaires shows that brand content-related cues, including perceived uniqueness, perceived vividness, and perceived interactivity have significant effects on consumers' affective and cognitive involvement, which then affect their attitude toward brand content. As a result, the consumers' attitude toward the brand and their brand purchase intention, as well as their brand content sharing intention, are positively affected by attitude toward brand content. This study contributes to a better understanding of how social advertising works, which suggests that managers should effectively use social media to conduct advertising.

In order to verify, after selecting of the experimental subjects and finishing the prior investigation of the experimental operation, four video advertisements and formal experiments were performed. The experimental results showed that first, the content type affects the advertising effect of the video and the information framework; when the information video matches the preventive information framework, it will have a more obvious positive effect on the advertising effect; when the entertainment video matches the promotion information framework, it will have a more obvious positive effect on the advertising effect. Second, with the two matches of video content type and information framework, the entertainment-oriented video has a more obvious positive effect for the information-oriented video audience; the above results enrich user created content research and improve the quality and communication efficiency of video in social media.

  • Children have become the target of intense and specialized food advertising efforts. This study examines the content of TV food advertising and discussed possible concerns from the perspective of children. A total of 102 ads were collected from two cable networks aimed at children. Most of the food ads used emotional appeals and did not provide information clues such as nutrition values. Ads with high sales pressure and celebrity endorsements appeared frequently and the ads for snack foods and high-carbohydrate bakery products were dominant. Understanding food ads can be a significant indicator to establish the orientation of consumer ad education and build educational programs appropriate for children. The issue that appears conspicuous in child targeted advertising and marketing is the childhood obesity and food advertising relation; subsequently, there is a need to evolve advertising that targets children into a positive educational information source.

  • As many brands use social media influencers (SMIs) on Instagram to advertise, not disclosing advertised content affects how consumers perceive these influencers. The purpose of this study was to investigate two objectives: 1) recent advertising disclosure types on Instagram and 2) the factors that affect consumer responses towards Instagram influencers posting advertised content. Using an experimental 2x2 between-subjects design (N=200), the findings show that "sponsored" and "paid partnership with" are two recent types of ad disclosures. However, both factors are insignificantly different from each other. Also, ad disclosure condition enhances the trustworthiness of the influencer than no disclosure. Ad skepticism, source credibility, and the level of persuasion strongly relate to how consumers perceive Instagram influencers advertising for brands. These factors enable consumers to assess if the influencer is a reliable source of information when faced with advertisement. Ultimately, using disclosure gives full information to consumers about the persuasive intent, as well as increases positive consumer responses towards the influencer who discloses, thereby, enhancing the ethical use of the influencer advertising strategy and long-term consumer relationship.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of creativity of ad contents on desire to postpone cognitive closure and ad attitude. Furthermore, the cause of the advertising effect of the creative advertisement contents was set as disfluency and the relationship between the related variables was verified. Research has shown that creative advertising does not directly produce positive advertising attitudes, but it also forms ad attitudes through mediating effects of disfluency. In summary, this study finds that the disfluency of advertising is an important variable for enhancing the advertising effect of creative advertisement. This study verified the advertising effect of creative advertisement by connecting it with consumers' cognitive variables.
