In the literature, the general framework of competitive forces has been used extensively to analyze industries in the traditional economy. More specifically, the model has been used to develop strategies for companies in various sectors. The general model can also be used to analyze the use of information technology to enhance competitive advantage. This paper extends the conceptual model to the Internet environment. For concreteness, the concepts are examined in the context of the health care industry. In addition, a comparative analysis is performed to examine the similarities and differences in providing merchandise or services in cyberspace.

Efficient resource reservation and hand-over schemes are necessary to maintain the same QoS because the QoS may be defected by some delay and information loss during hand-over in LTE-Advanced networks. This paper proposes a resource management for supporting QoS of heterogeneous services during a hand-over in OFDMA systems.

Businesses and manufacturing have benefited from the evolution of digital information technology. The introduction of e-commerce has changed the way companies are conducted, and the manufacturing industry is using emerging technologies to automate and synchronize production processes in order to increase productivity and profitability. The results of the study show that incorporating the internet into e-commerce has transformed the process, making it one of the most advanced and high users of digital technology. E-commerce has advanced by leaps and bounds, allowing products and services to flow electronically with minimal delays. Manufacturing has benefited from the implementation of IoT, which has increased the productivity of production processes and is gradually becoming a major beneficiary of modern computer technology.

In this paper, an advanced ZigBee (AZB) system for internet-of-things (IoT) applications is proposed which can support various data rates from 31.25 Kbps to 2 Mbps, and the implementation results of the AZB baseband processor are presented. Repetition coding for 32-chip direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) symbol is applied for low rates under 250 Kbps to extend the coverage. Convolution coding, puncturing, and interleaving for non-DSSS symbol are performed for high rates from 500 Kbps to 2 Mbps for multi-media services. Simulation results show that the coverage increases at the rate of 51.8-77.3% for various environments compared with IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee. AZB baseband processor was implemented in 180 nm CMOS process and total gate counts are 260K with the size of $5.8mm^2$.

This study investigates the adoption and application of digital transformation in the financial sector and analyzes the process and outcomes of digitization and digitalization in the field of the finance industry of South Korea and overseas, in order to seek both managerial and strategic implications for successful implementation of digital transformation in the future. The findings show that, for successful digital transformation, it is necessary to maximize active and systematic use of advanced online and digital technologies that form the basis of business and create an open, horizontal organizational culture and communication system to equally share and distribute advanced technologies and competencies through the entire organization. Furthermore, this study also discovers the legitimacy to concentrate the organizational competencies and know-how in providing technical training for members, expanding customer experience, and improving customer satisfaction services to contribute to improving the quality of life for members of the organization and creating and improving social and public infrastructures, instead of using digital transformation only to improve productivity of organizations or firms. As such, it is necessary to concentrate corporate competencies in establishing and supplying digital transformation that is not just human-centered but also has productivity, innovativeness, and reliability at the same time.

The network management becomes more complicated due to the growth of network technology and introduction of a large number of new multimedia services. TINA has appeared as a concept for the advanced network management system platform using the information technology such as distributed processing and object oriented modeling. Since TINA is on the basis of DPE (Distributed Processing Environment), it can manage networks and services for open telecommunications. In this paper, we propose an implementation strategy of the MIB/MIT to federate various CORBA objects in CORBA based network management system implementing TINA DPE. The proposed strategy is novel in the sense that it can support the distribution of MIB/MIT that is well matched with the distributed component architecture of TINA DPE, and it can also support the scoping and filtering services on the MIT using CORBA Naming Service.

Nowadays, librarians try to provide equal services and effective facilities to people with disabilities. According to this context, the current and prospective librarians should have a wide range of knowledges and skills that can identify and understand their patron's needs and information seeking behaviors through disability issues education. This study aims at presenting the advanced directions of the LIS education in order to enhance a librarian's experience and strengthen his/her hand on library services for people with disabilities. The result of the study suggests some directions on disability issues in LIS education in the future.

Recently, internet banking is growing rapidly. Moot banks in Korea provide internet banking services. Internet banking becomes a major trend in the financial marketplace. With advanced computer technology and declining communication costs, many customers prefer online alternatives such as internet banking, mobile banking or phone banking rather than going to banks by themselves. The number of customers using those alternatives is skyrocketing and domestic commercial banks encourage them of the use. As the internet is highly developed, customers demand higher quality services and banks develop and provide diverse services in order to respond to them. However, internet banking service users are still afraid of their personal and financial information being exposed on the internet. The purpose of this research is to empirically analyze the influence that appropriate internet banking affect user's security intention. The research model proposed in this study includes user's security intention which is influenced by self-efficacy, security trust, Internet banking attitude, perceived security and security intention. According to the result of this study, self-efficacy and security trust are related to the security attitude. There is a significant relationship between security attitude and perceived security. Also, user's security attitude and perceived security is significantly affected by security intention.

Because the 'Internet of Things' and sensor network technology have become a new generation industry competitiveness with a development of Information Communication Technology, each local autonomous entity is trying to adopt a Smart City quickly. This requires an integrated platform inside of a smart city operation center. Established Smart City platform provides various services using CCTV information and ITS transportation information based on a two-dimensional map. The provision of advanced Smart City services will necessitate three-dimensional map information, building and facilities unit information, linked information with public data portal for service to the public. In this paper, the authors reviewed development trends of Smart City integrated platform and proposed mashup methods between BIM/GIS interoperability platform and external open data. BIM/GIS platform can provide spatial information services for indoor and outdoor seamlessly because it was developed based on GIS spatial data with BIM data. The linked external open data are V-World data, Seoul Open Data, and Architectural Data Open. Finally, the authors proposed the direction of development for BIM/GIS integrated platform to provide advanced Smart City services.

With the ever-increasing importance of high-speed information in society as we move towards the 21 st century, telecommunication laboratories of advanced nations are pressing forward with research and development aimed at implementing its W & P(Visual Intelligent and Personal) services and construction of a new network to support them. In legals to the former, based on a long-term view of technological and market trends, those laboratories are researching and developing services that will make possible an effective progression from the development of services that answer to potential needs towards the full-scale implementation of VI & P services. In regards to the latter, these laboratories are responding in a flexible manner to the increasing diversity and disposal of the communications environment by separating the network into a transmission system and a versatile information control/conversion -ion system and laboratories are working at enhancing the performance of both. Within these board aims, the laboratories are currently focusing our attention in three areas : the technology for a high-speed broadband transmission system featuring optical frequency multiplexing and ATM techniques, network and software technologies for advanced information control and conversion, and technology for constructing a new access network that can provide a comprehensive range of multimedia services. This article describes the laboratories' concept of how VI & P services will develop in the future, and the latest trends in the field of communications. It also describes the ideal configuration of the new network and discusses the important technological aspects of how it is to be constructed. Finally, it presents the results of the laboratories'recent research which include some innovative work, point out the areas requiring future investigation.
