입학사정관 심사시간과 전형효과에 대한 동태적 분석 (A Dynamic Analysis on the Relation between the amount of Review Time and the Effectiveness of the College Admission Officer System)

  • In this paper, it is examined how the amount of review time per applicant to a college admission officer system is connected with the performance of the selected students after they enter the college. About five years ago, college admission officers system has been introduced to Korea as a government policy. Thus, for most Korean college, there is not enough number of admission officers, while it takes substantial time to find out whether an applicant has potential ability or not. Thus, it is required to find out some policy alternatives to solve this discrepancy. In this paper, a simulation model is built using System Dynamics theory and simulated to understand the relation between the amount of review time and the performance of the selected students. Finally, some implications and policy suggestions are derived from the simulation results.

과학영재교육원 합격 여부가 초등학생들의 과학 관련 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Affects on Science-Related Attitudes of Children's Pass or Failure for Admission to a Science Education Institute for the Gifted)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 과학영재교육원 입학 시험 합격자 집단과 불합격자 집단간에 과학 관련 태도에 유의미한 차이가 있는지 분석하고, 과학영재교육원 합격 여부가 이들 집단의 과학 관련 태도에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 충청 지역 대학 부설 과학영재교육원에 지원한 초등학교 4학년 138명이 학생들이 연구에 참가하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학영재교육원 입학 시험 당일 실시된 과학 관련 태도 검사에서 합격자 집단 (N=15)이 불합격자 집단(N=119)보다 평균 접수가 약간 높기는 하였지만, 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 입학 시험 당일과 합격자 발표 3개월 후 실시된 과학 관련 태도 검사 점수의 비교 결과, 합격자 집단(N=15)과 불합격자 집단(N=42) 모두 합격 여부가 과학 관련 태도에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지는 않은 것으로 나타났다.

  • 전문대학 제도가 도입된 이래 저속적인 성장을 거듭하던 2년제 대학은 입학정원이 줄어들면서 그 존립마저 위협받고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 각 대학들은 입시생들을 유치하기 위한 각종 온라인 콘텐츠를 개발하고 이를 통해 대학홍보 및 각종 입시정보를 알리고 있다. 그러나 온라인 콘텐츠가 어떤 경로로 입시생들에게 접근되는지와 지원과 등록에 미치는 영향력이 어떻게 달라지는지에 대한 체계적이고 수치적인 연구가 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 전문대학의 온라인 콘텐츠가 입시 모집시기별로 지원과 등록에 미치는 영향을 분석하였고, 입시생들의 온라인 콘텐츠 인지가 모집 시기에 따라 어떠한 차이를 보이는지 분석하였다.

조선업 입사자의 다면적인성검사(MMPI) 척도와 안전보건척도들과의 관계분석 (Relationships between MMPI Scales and Safety & Health Indices in the Shipbuilding Workmen)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between MMPI(Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) scale and safety and health related indices in the shipbuilding workmen. The MMPI scores of the 230 shipbuilding workmen applicants and their performance records regarding safety and health were analyzed through t-test and one-way ANOVA to obtain the following results; (1) applicants intended to show the positive characteristics of their personality, and this attitude reflected a decrease on T-scores of MMPI; (2) there were significant relationships between some MMPI subscales and safety & health related indices. These results can be used to provide baseline information for more effective accident prevention programs.

노인장기요양보험 급여비의 결정요인분석 -시·군·구 데이터를 중심으로- (A Study on the Determinants of the Benefits of the Long-term Care Insurance in Korea)

  • The purpose of our study is to analyze the determinants of the benefits of the long-term care insurance in Korea using 2008 and 2009 cross-sectional data. Per capita long-term care insurance benefits can be divided into home care services utilization rate, institutional care services utilization rate, per capita home care services benefits, and per capita institutional care services benefits, which are used as the dependent variables in our regression analysis. Admission rate and the ratio of the admitted to the applicant also used as the dependent variables. The results of our analysis show that the explanatory variables such as income level, needs for care, family type, access to the services, and regional characteristics are statistically significant to explain the dependent variables, the long-term care insurance benefits. The higher is the regional income and the more of the female residents, the more are the long-term care insurance benefits. The easier is the access to the services, the more are the insurance benefits. In the rural area, the level of the insurance benefits is relatively high. We propose that copayment rates of the long-term care insurance should be examined and monitoring on the over-use of the services should be done. Also preventive services and care by the family member should be expanded.

가상시나리오를 활용한 의과대학 학사편입학 지원자의 윤리적 의사결정능력 (Ethically Related Decisions in Different Scenarios of Medical School Applicants for Graduate-Entry Program)

  • Assessment tools for non-academic qualities such as ethics frequently employ hypothetical scenarios to lay out a contextual framework underlying the corresponding criteria of assessment. Due to the context-specific nature of the assessment criteria, details of the scenarios become very important in obtaining accurate results. This study aims to explore how medical school applicants differ in ethical decision making depending on the types of ethical dilemma scenarios, and how they correlate with academic achievements after admission. In 2014, all 82 applicants invited for an admission interview for a graduate-entry program were asked to complete a questionnaire comprised of 13 hypothetical scenarios. There were three domains (unethical business decisions, unethical academic decisions, and sexual quid pro quos) and participants were made to choose between the profitable-but-unethical choice or the unprofitable-but-ethical choice, using a four-point Likert-type scale. On average, tendencies toward unethical decisions were lowest for sexual favors ($1.34{\pm}0.46$), and highest for gaining academic advantages ($2.22{\pm}0.56$). Unethical decisions for academic advantages and sexual benefits showed significant correlation respectively with the female gender and those who graduated from overseas universities. In addition, the propensity for choosing unethical academic decisions was significantly correlated with high academic achievements in medical school (r=0.396). Not only does this study demonstrate that different levels of ethical decision making depend on the scenarios, but also those differences may be a determinant factor in subsequent academic performances in medical school. In conclusion, given the possible influence of the details of the hypothetical scenarios to the applicant's responses, careful consideration must be given during their development.
