The value of using health insurance claim database is continuously rising in healthcare research. In studies where comorbidities act as a confounder, comorbidity adjustment holds importance. Yet researchers are faced with a myriad of options without sufficient information on how to appropriately adjust comorbidity. The purpose of this study is to assist in selecting an appropriate index, look back period, and data range for comorbidity adjustment. No consensus has been formed regarding the appropriate index, look back period and data range in comorbidity adjustment. This study recommends the Charlson comorbidity index be selected when predicting the outcome such as mortality, and the Elixhauser's comorbidity measures be selected when analyzing the relations between various comorbidities and outcomes. A longer look back period and inclusion of all diagnoses of both inpatient and outpatient data led to increased prevalence of comorbidities, but contributed little to model performance. Limited data range, such as the inclusion of primary diagnoses only, may complement limitations of the health insurance claim database, but could miss important comorbidities. This study suggests that all diagnoses of both inpatients and outpatients data, excluding rule-out diagnosis, be observed for at least 1 year look back period prior to the index date. The comorbidity index, look back period, and data range must be considered for comorbidity adjustment. To provide better guidance to researchers, follow-up studies should be conducted using the three factors based on specific diseases and surgeries.

Wireless Sensor Networks "WSN" can be implemented in a wide range of applications. Some of these have unpredictable behavior, such as disaster or intrusion monitoring. Sudden large bursting amounts of data can increase traffic and degrade the WSN's performance as well as energy resources. In this work we propose an adjustment of radio transmission range where more or less nodes can be part of the neighborhood area and collaborate in retransmission. As simulation results prove, such adjustment based on traffic can benefit to balance network lifetime.
Highly non-linear electro-optical transfer function of the Perceptual Quantizer was approximated by a truncated Taylor series, resulting in a closed form solution for luma adjustment. This previous solution is fast and quite suitable for the hardware implementation of luma adjustment, but the approximation error becomes relatively large in the range of 600~3,900 cd/m2 linear light. In order to reduce such approximation error, we propose a new linear model, for which a correction is performed on the position and the slope of line based on the scope of approximation. In order to verify the approximation capability of the proposed linear model, a comparative study on the luma adjustment schemes was conducted using various high dynamic range test video sequences. Via the comparative study, we identified a significant performance enhancement over the previous fast luma adjustment scheme, where a 4.65dB of adjusted luma t-PSNR gain was obtained for a test sequence having a large portion of saturated color pixels.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of college sport club participants' ego-resilience on the college adjustment. Research design, data, and methodology: To accomplish the purpose, 360 participants were sampled by means stratified cluster random sampling method. Only 317 questionnaires were statistically processed, while 43 questionnaires were excluded because their respondents failed to complete instrument and judged insincere in filling out questionnaire. To analyze the data collected, statistical techniques, such as descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, independent-sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA, multiple regression analysis were used, and as for difference verification between individual groups in relation to significant results, Duncan's multiple range was conducted. Results: The following results have been drawn out via hypothesis test. First. the background variable of the college sport club participants of was proved to affect the degree of their ego-resilience on the college adjustment. Specifically, their period of participation, frequency of participation and expenses made a statistically meaningful. Second, the college sport club participants of ego-resilience were proved to affect the college adjustment. Academic adjustment, social adjustment, personal-emotional adjustment and institutional attachment made a statistically meaning-full difference. Conclusions: The findings indicate the function of sport club participants' ego-resilience in assisting their adjustment.

This paper propose the fast motion estimation algorithm with adaptive search range adjustment using motion activities of temporal and spatial neighbor blocks. The existing fast motion estimation algorithms with adaptive search range adjustment use the maximum motion vector of all blocks in the reference frame. So these algorithms may not control a optimum search range for slow moving block in current frame. The proposed algorithm use the maximum motion vector of neighbor blocks in the reference frame to control a optimum search range for slow moving block. So the proposed algorithm can reduce computation time for motion estimation. The experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the number of search points about 15% more than Simple Dynamic Search Range(SDSR) algorithm while maintaining almost the same bit-rate and motion estimation error.

Two-dimensional(2-D) radar images, namely, ISAR images from a maneuvering target include unwanted phase errors due to the target's motion. These phase errors make ISAR images to be blurred. The ISAR autofocus technique is required in order to remove these unwanted phase errors. Unless those unwanted phase errors produced by the target's motion are removed prior to target identification, we cannot expect a reliable target identification performance. In this paper, we use the entropy-based ISAR autofocus technique which consists of two steps: range alignment and phase adjustment. We analyze a relationship between the number of sampling point and a image quality in a range alignment algorithm and also analyze a technique for reducing computation time of the SSA(Stage-by-Stage Approachng) algorithm in a phase adjustment.

This study was conducted to collect data concerning the preferred driving postures and adopted seat adjustment levels and to grasp relationships among drivers' body sizes, postural angles, and adopted seat positions and angles. Also optimum driving posture and seat adjustment level estimation models were constructed. An experiment was conducted to investigate observed optimum driving posture, and seat adjustment level. Thirty-six subjects (male=20, female=16) was selected to include a wide range of percentiles in the dimensions important for automotive driving workstation design and to be representative of the automotive driving population in Korea. New guidelines and estimation models for optimum postural comfort were developed. There were significant differences between male and female in postural angles but not in seat adjustment levels. Taller subjects preferred a more open and reclined posture. Estimation models enable us to estimate the quantitative optimum driving posture and seat adjustment level with some drivers' physical dimensions.

This study has made photographing respectively by changing the converging angle by use of d7 $metric^5$ that is a measurement digital camera. And also in order to minimize the errors happened at the relative orientation, we have sorted out the round target that the relative orientation is automatically on the programming and have calculated RMSE by carrying out the bundle adjustment. We think that such a study could be used as very important basic data necessary in deriving the optimal photographic conditions by the close-range digital photogrammetry and in judging such a degree.

This study attempts to measure effectively three dimensional deformation in road slopes using digital close-range photographs. After the still video images were acquired respectively on the same multi-station geometric configuration in two epoches, photo-triangulation was rallied out respectively by conventional standard bundle adjustment and free-net bundle adjustment and the computed results were compared with those of geodetic method by total station. Three dimensional coordinates and deformation amounts were able to be derived with the RMSE of sub-millimeter and the relative accuracy of $1/30,000{\sim}1/35,000$. It was shown that free-net bundle adjustment is about 13% higher than standard bundle adjustment in the accuracy of photo-triangulation. It was ascertained that the free-net technique is able to promote fast and accurate deformation surveying without the necessity of geodetic control survey in complicated industrial sites.

Estimation and correction of color temperature of digital images are basis of white balance adjustment after image acquisition stage. White balance is one of the most important image processing techniques for subjective image quality enhancement. Correction of color temperature is applied for white balance adjustment or for changing the mood of a picture. A picture taken under the daylight can be changed to have a mood of sunset or cloudy day, for example. We evaluate color temperature transformation of high dynamic range images in linear and log domain, and we conclude that linear domain transformation shows better results.
