An Investigation of Relational Characteristics among the Design Elements of Automobile Seat Packaging with a Triangular Method (삼각기법을 이용한 자동차 운전환경 설계요소간 관계 모델링)

  • The three design elements of automobile occupant packaging such as pedals, steering wheel, and seat are the most important factors to design an ergonomically sound layout for improving driving comfort and performance. The aim of the study is to find out coherent characteristics of the relationships among three design elements. For this purpose, Triangular Method is suggested. We extracted properties for determining the shape, size, and location of the triangle that is composed of Accelerated Heel Point, Steering Wheel Point, and Hip Point. An experiment was conducted at a seating buck in which the design elements are freely adjustable by the subject to investigate driver's preferred arrangement of three elements. Statistical analyses revealed that there was a subtle change in the shape of triangle according to different percentiles and that the significant difference was observed only for the size of the triangle. The results will be effectively applied to design a comfortable seat packaging layout.

Preparation and Characterization of Alginate-gelatin/silk Wet-laid Nonwoven Fabric (알지네이트-젤라틴/실크 습식부직포 제조 및 특성 연구)

  • In this study, alginate-gelatin/silk wet-laid nonwoven fabrics were prepared by using alginate gelatin fiber and silk fiber, as the main fiber, and PVA fiber as binder fiber. The characterization of pore size and mechanical property was carried out on the various weight ratios of alginate gelatin fiber and silk fibers, or the adding binder fibers. As the content of silk or binder fiber increases, the tensile strength increases from 0.70 kgf/㎠ to 5.08 kgf/㎠ and the pore size decreases 111.6 ㎛ to 51.00 ㎛. As the weight of the silk increased, the density increased, and binder fiber was added to enhance the cohesion between fibers, thereby increasing the wet-laid nonwoven fabric strength. We studied on wet-laid nonwoven fabrics that can be applied to mask sheet with adjustable pore size.

A Study on the Fitness of Adjustable Dental Impression Trays on the Chinese and Japanese (중국인과 일본인에 대한 가변형 치과 인상용 트레이의 적합성에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the fitness of adjustable dental impression trays on the Chinese and the Japanese. Material and methods: Initial design of the adjustable dental trays was developed from the results of the dental arch size of Korean adults. This design was applied to the CAD-CAM process in order to create tray model samples. Simple silicon-base molds were then replicated based on these sample models. Polyurethane injection into the silicon- base molds completed the process of creating a large number of test products. 60 Chinese dental students (male:30, female:30) from the Shanghai Second Medical University and 60 Japanese alumni from the Kumamoto high school (male:30, female:30) were selected for taking irreversible hydrocolloid impression with these trays. The width and length of the impression body were measured on several measuring points by Vernier caliper. The results were analyzed statistically to evaluate the fitness of the trays. Results: 1. Uniform impression material thickness was achieved on the Chinese and Japanese by controlling the width of the tray using stops and beveled guides. The material thickness was generally within the range of 3 mm to 6 mm. 2. In the maxillary tray of the Chinese, average thickness of the impression material of the labial vestibule of the incisal teeth was 6.2 mm, the canine was 5.9 mm and the midpalatal part 10.5 mm and the posterior palatal part 9.7 mm. These were relatively large values. 3. In the mandibular tray of the Chinese, average length of the impression material of the lingual vestibule of first, second premolar contact point was 8.9 mm, the incisal teeth was 7.8 mm and thickness of the labial part of canine was 6.8 mm and premolars 7.0 mm. These were relatively large values. 4. In the maxillary tray of the Japanese, average thickness of the impression material of the labial vestibule of the incisal teeth was 7.4 mm, the canine was 7.7 mm and the midpalatal part 9.1 mm. These were relatively large values. 5. In the mandibular tray of the Japanese, average thickness of the impression material of the labial vestibule of first, second premolar contact point was 8.4 mm, and thickness of the labial part of canine was 7.4 mm. These were relatively large values. Conclusion: This adjustable dental tray shows good accuracy to Korean because it was designed by the analysis of the dental arch size of Korean adult model. With this result, it can be applied to Chinese and Japanese, we can take more easy and accurate dental impressions.

Fitness of Adjustable Dental Impression Trays on the Caucasian and African American (백인과 흑인에 대한 가변형 치과 인상용 트레이의 적합성에 관한 연구)

Material and methods: The size and shape of these trays were designed from the results of the dental arch size of Korean adults. Tray samples were made by CAD-CAM working. Sixty Caucasian (male:30, female:30) and sixty African American (male:30, female:30) were selected for taking irreversible hydrocolloid impression using these trays. The author measured the width and length of impression material on the several measuring points. Results: 1. Uniform impression material width was achieved by controling the width of the tray using stops and beveled guides. 2. In the maxillary tray on the Caucasian, the impression material thickness was measured to be rather great showing thickness of the midpalatal part 13.0 mm. 3. In the maxillary tray on the African American, the impression material thickness was measured to be rather great showing thickness of the midpalatal part 12.0 mm, posterior palatal part 11.0 mm and the labial frenum width was 11.0 mm. 4. In the maxillary tray on the African American, the impression material width of posterior border (0.8 mm) was measured to be small. 5. In the mandibular tray on the Caucasian, the impression material width was measured (2.7-6.7 mm) and posterior border width (2.1 mm) was measured small. The impression material length was measured (2.8-6.7 mm). 6. In the mandibular tray on the African American, the impression material width was measured to be rather great showing width of the labial frenum 9.2 mm and the width of posterior border was measured too small (0.3 mm). Conclusion: This adjustable dental tray shows good accuracy to Korean because it was designed by the analysis of the dental arch size of Korean adult model. With this result, it can be applied to Caucasian and African American, we can take more easy and accurate dental impressions.

Factors Related to Positive Psychological Capital among Korean Clinical Nurses: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (국내 임상간호사의 긍정심리자본 관련 요인: 체계적 문헌고찰 및 메타분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to systematically review and identify factors relevant to the positive psychological capital of clinical nurses. Methods: These was no limit on year of publication. Articles related to Korean clinical nurses were retrieved from computerized database using a manual search. A systematic review was conducted based on the PRISMA flow. The total correlational effect size (ESr) for each related factor was calculated from Fisher's Zr. Funnel plots, fail-safe numbers, and Egger regression tests were used to evaluate publication bias in meta-analysis studies. The correlational effect size of 25 studies was analyzed through meta-analysis using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software 3.0 (CMA). Results: The review included 25 studies. In the systematic review, 14 demographic factors and 46 organizational factors were found to be influential. Eleven factors (6 demographic factors and 5 organizational factors) were appropriate for meta-analysis. The overall effect size was .26. The demographic total correlation effect size of related factors was .20 and the total effect size of organization was .46. Organizational commitment (ESr=.38) and job satisfaction (ESr=.54) were statistically positively related variables. Negative variables were burnout (ESr=-.61), turnover intention (ESr=-.41) and workplace bullying (ESr=-.33). The total effect size of the organizational factors was larger than the demographic total effect size. There was no publication bias except for demographic variables. Conclusion: Organizational factors and adjustable variables have a significant impact on positive psychological capital. The results of this study support the need for development of interventions focusing on organizational factors.

DC-DC Buck converter Using an Adjustable Dead-time Control Method (적응형 사구간제어기법을 이용한 DC-DC 벅 변환기)

  • This paper proposes high efficiency current-mode DC-DC buck converter that are suitable for portable devices. The current-mode DC-DC buck converter using adjustable Dead-time control method improves the power efficiency 2~5%. The buck converter has been implemented with a standard 0.35${\mu}m$ CMOS process. The size of this chip is 0.97$mm^2$. The input range of the fabricated DC-DC buck converter is 2.5V~3.3V, and the output is 1.8V. The maximum loading current of the converter is 500mA and the peak efficiency is 93% at 200mA loads.

Development of Compression Garments for Breast Augmentation Patients (유방 확대수술 환자용 압박의류 개발)

  • It is essential to apply compression bands or pressure garments that can stabilize the breast implants and breast shape as well as help shape the breast to the desired shape immediately after breast augmentation surgery. It is necessary to study the compression garment which is able to properly cover a deformed breast due to the operation and shape it as a beautiful breast. The subjects of the study were 6 women who experienced breast augmentation surgery with an under bust size of 70 or 75, cup size of C cup with a hemispherical and conical shape. We analyzed the dissatisfaction and satisfaction factors through the evaluation of the 4 types of commercial compression garments and developed the new functional post-operative bra which can be worn immediately after the operation according to the breast characteristics of breast augmentation patients. We have developed new bra patterns; a front opening type garment with wings and a band type garment both sides that allow the band to be pressed from the front center. The comparative wearing evaluation indicated that the superiority of the new compression garments also provided a higher the satisfaction of the newly developed bra (front adjustable style) than a commercial band.

Wearing Satisfaction with Commercial Sports Bras According to Design Difference - Focusing on Shoulder Strap Difference - (시판 스포츠 브래지어의 디자인 차이에 따른 착용감 연구 - 어깨끈 차이를 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, the fit of commercial sports bras was analyzed according to various design variations, focusing on the shape of the shoulder strap, which is known to cause great discomfort in wearing sports bras. Experimental clothes were set to four commercially available sports bras with different shoulder strap shapes. The results showed that, in "size suitability," the overall satisfaction with experimental clothing B, of which the shoulder strap can be adjusted, was the highest, especially for "underbust circ. fit," "bust circ. Fit," and "shoulder strap length." In the "Shape suitability" and "Wearability" sections, experimental clothing B also showed the highest satisfaction and the shoulder strap adjustment device did not negatively affect wearing satisfaction. In the question on "side wings rolled up," experimental clothing A also received a relatively good score, which is due to its long front length. In the "Compression of the front center" section, the responses for experimental clothing A and B were "appropriate" and for C and D, they were "pressurized." In "motion suitability" as well, satisfaction with experimental clothing B was the highest, followed by experimental clothes A, C, and D. In the "body shape correction" section, clothing B elicited the highest satisfaction, followed by experimental clothes A, C, and D, in that order. Overall, it is recommended that shoulder straps be applied with adjustable straps for the comfort of the shoulder area while wearing sports bras.

High Efficiency 5A Synchronous DC-DC Buck Converter (고효율 5A용 동기식 DC-DC Buck 컨버터)

  • This paper presents high efficiency 5A synchronous DC-DC buck converter. The proposed DC-DC buck converter works from 4.5V to 18V input voltage range, and provides up to 5A of continuous output current and output voltage adjustable down to 0.8V. This chip is packaged MCP(multi-chip package) with control chip, top side P-CH switch, and bottom side N-CH switch. This chip is designed in a 25V high voltage CMOS 0.35um technology. It has a maximum power efficiency of up to 94% and internal 3msec soft start and fixed 500KHz PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) operations. It also includes cycle by cycle current limit function, short and thermal shutdown protection circuit at 150℃. This chip size is 2190um*1130um includes scribe lane 10um.

  • This paper presents some inherent characteristics of a semi-active variable damper featuring electro-rheological (ER) fluid. The damping force of the damper can be selectively adjusted or controlled by employing electric field to the ER fluid domain. This is possible owing to the pressure drop across the piston occured by field-dependent variable yield stress of the ER fluid. This is fundamentally different than the performance of a conventional adjustable viscous damper. To demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority over the conventional one, the proposed damper is incorporated with a suspension system. A quarter car model with the suspension system is formulated and represented by a state equation. By choosing numerical values based on realistic package size, power requirements and suitable ER properties, the performance characteristics of the suspension system are obtained and evaluated in both frequency and time domains. The effects of constant electric field and on-off controlled electric field which relates to the damping force are also examined.
