Effect of Glass Additions on the Adhesion and Electrical Conductivity of Photoimageable Silver Paste

  • Anorthite forming glass frits in amounts up to 25 vol% of the silver powder were added to improve the adhesion between the conductor pattern formed by thick film photoimageable process and the low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) substrate. The sheet resistance of the conductor pattern was raised from 0.13 ${\Omega}/{\square}$ to 2.25 ${\Omega}/{\square}$ as the volume percentage of glass frit increased up to 25 vol%. The adhesion strength was improved with this glass frit increase, but it decreased when the glass content exceeded 20 vol% which are possibly attributed to the liquid pool effect and the reduced fracture toughness in the interface between conductor and LTCC layer. The shrinkage of the width of the conductor pattern decreased with the addition of glass contents.

  • Recently, the Carbon Fiber Sheet(CFS) is widely used to strengthen the RC beams. But the behaviour of the RC beams which is strengthened with the CFS is not clearly defined yet. So, in this study we experimented with simply supported RC beams strengthened with the CFS, under monotonic loads. We included three parameters in this experiment which are the number of the sheets, the length of the sheets, and the existence of the anchor bolts. We investigated the strength effect of the RC beams by adhesion of the CFS, and the strengthening effect of CFS as to the respective parameters.

  • In this study on the appliable Asphalt sheet of monolithic and inorganic matter waterproofing material using of field because of problem of complex waterproofing sheet. Before this cement polymer modified waterproof coating and appliable asphalt sheet of monolithic whether have stability by method of construction about all style waterproofing that evaluate to new method of construction development naturally big emphasis put and try to approach. Did performance test item first at, as a result, drew by suitable thing in all KS items. This is considered to have more effective spot construction work because if means that have stability by material as well as method of construction.

  • This study discusses the development of asphalt based waterproofing sheet applied on the blind side of the concrete substrate. The inorganic coating membrane is applied on top of the waterproofing sheet surface for protection, and adhesive bond to the concrete substrate surface is secured via hydration reaction the cement. The study reveals the experimental results of the overlap section tensile strength to observe the effects of the adhesion strength of this material.

  • In this study, acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) using butyl acrylate and butyl methacrylate as basic monomers and functional monomer such as acrylic acid was synthesized. Adhesive sheet was prepared by using three types of crosslinking agents (isocyanate, amine, aziridine) containing a functional group reacting with carboxyl group. The correlation between the PSA and substrate was studied by evaluation the peel strength according to the four substrates (polypropylene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, stainless steel, and glass). The polarity of the PSA increases with the amount of the crosslinking agent, and the surface energy also increases due to the influence of the crosslinking agent. Regardless of the type of crosslinking agent, the tack decreases as the content increased, and it was confirmed by the gel fraction measurement that the type of crosslinking agent had influence on the crosslinking. As a result of peel strength evaluation, excellent adhesion characteristics were expressed for all substrates when amine crosslinking20240809 agent was used.

  • According to the results of "Highway Bridges Long Life Repair Plan." The most serious damage to RC slabs is caused by fatigue deterioration, which results from the driving loads of large-sized vehicles, and aging of materials. In response to this, adhesion reinforcement using carbon fiber sheet is being adopted. In addition, carbon fiber strand sheet that holds the same material characteristics as CFS, but has superior workability, has been developed as a new reinforcement material. However, almost no studies have been conducted on CFSS in relation to fatigue resistance evaluation through fatigue tests under running wheel loads, with the exception of a few by some organizations. Therefore, in this study, specimens with front CFS adhesion reinforcement on the bottom surface of the RC slab and specimens with grid-type CFSS reinforcement were manufactured. Then, fatigue tests under running wheel loads were conducted, and thus fatigue resistance was evaluated using the specimens.

Adhesion Performance of Natural Rubber-based Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives for Protecting of Opto-functionalized Sheet (광기능성시트 보호용 천연고무계 점착제의 점착 물성)

  • To prepare a natural rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) for protection film of opto- functionalized sheet, natural rubber (NR) was blended with a DCPD type tackifier and three types of aliphatic hydrocarbon resins, respectively. Also, to supply low cohesion strength of NR, in the fixed ratio of tackifier, synthetic rubber, styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) block copolymer was blended with NR as a function of SIS contents. PSA performance of prepared PSAs was evaluated using probe tack and peel strength. Probe tack of NR/tackifier blends was increased with increasing tackifier contents, and showed maximum peak. In addition, probe tack of NR/tackifier blends slightly increased with increasing softening point of aliphatic hydrocarbon resins. Their peel strength increased up to 50 wt% of tackifier contents, but in the over contents of tackifier, they showed stick-slip failure mode. Finally, probe tack of NR/SIS/tackifier blends showed the maximum values at 20~40 wt% of tackifier contents, but at 20 wt% of tackifier contents, they showed fibrillation. For this reason, peel strength showed maximum values at 40 wt% of tackifier contents.

Improvement of Coating Adherence of Hot-dip Galvanized Sheet Steels (용융아연 도금강판의 도금밀착성 개선)

  • In the present work the adhesion failure of a hot-dip galvanized coating has been studied as a function gas composition temperature of strip and of atmospheric gas in furnace. The adhesion failure of the hot-dip galvani-zed coating is classified as three mechanisms : carbon deposition, oxide film formation and alloy layer formation. The adhesion failure due to oxide film formation decreased markedly by increasing the gases temperature of direct fired furnace(DFF) in order to improve the reducing ability of steel strip. Optimum conditions of operating and manufacturing facilities for improving the coating adherence are suggested by analyzing the interface between steel substrate and coating layer.

  • In this study, experimental research was carried out to evaluate the structural performance of the reinforced concrete beam using hybrid retrofitting with two materials (groove and embedding FRP rod, CFRP sheet) in existing reinforced concrete buildings. Seven reinforced concrete beams, retrofitted groove and embedding FRP rod (NER series) and groove and embedding FRP rod with CFRP sheet (NERL series), and standard specimen (NBS) were constructed and tested under monotonic loading. Design parameters of test specimens are the amount of groove and embedding FRP rod and lapping CFRP sheet. Test results showed that the maximum load carrying capacity of specimens with groove and embedding FRP rod and groove and embedding FRP rod with CFRP sheet (NERL series) were increased the by 12~46% and 22~77% respectively in comparison with the standard specimen NBS. Test specimens NER series were failed with the adhesion slip and concrete cover separation. And test specimens NERL series were failed with the adhesion slip due to the confining effect of lapping CFRP sheet.
