Modern plastics are of great importance in many practical applications and their performance can be enhanced by surface modification to improve their hardness, wear and chemical resistance. The object of this study is invention of functional hardening coating materials which are applied to plastic, such as polycarbonate, polymethylmethacylate and acrylonitrilebutadienestyrene. In order to invention of hardening coating materials, we synthesized new silicone acrylate oligomer and prepared coating films containing silicone acrylate oligomer (SAOE) on PC substrate. The curing of coatings is performed by UV-radiation. As results of experiments, The properties of coating films which are contained SAOE is greatly improved in comparison with coating films non-contained SAOE. Especially, when 1 wt% SAOE was introduced into the coating formulation, the UV hardening coatings obtained showed the best surface hardness and gloss.
In this study, a numerical approach was utilized to observe the phenomena in the ground combustion test of a gas generator for a ducted rocket with a plunger-type flow control device. The design factors were also identified through the analysis. It was observed that the pressure increase without the adhesion of the combustion product at the discharge pipe was quite similar to the analysis assuming a cone-shaped erosive burning effect. The pressure increase in most cases was similar to the analysis results when assuming the change in discharge pipe area due to the adhesion of combustion products. Moreover, it was also established that for a given grain shape and discharge flow area, the effect of the adhesion of combustion products has a significant effect on the combustion chamber pressure for cases over n=0.45.

Objective This study aimed to determine whether simultaneous decreases in the serum levels of cell adhesion molecules (intracellular cell adhesion molecule-1 [ICAM-1], vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 [VCAM-1], and E-selectin) and S100 proteins within the first 24 hours after the return of spontaneous circulation were associated with good neurological outcomes in cardiac arrest survivors. Methods This retrospective observational study was based on prospectively collected data from a single emergency intensive care unit (ICU). Twenty-nine out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survivors who were admitted to the ICU for post-resuscitation care were enrolled. Blood samples were collected at 0 and 24 hours after ICU admission. According to the 6-month cerebral performance category (CPC) scale, the patients were divided into good (CPC 1 and 2, n=12) and poor (CPC 3 to 5, n=17) outcome groups. Results No difference was observed between the two groups in terms of the serum levels of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, E-selectin, and S100 at 0 and 24 hours. A simultaneous decrease in the serum levels of VCAM-1 and S100 as well as E-selectin and S100 was associated with good neurological outcomes. When other variables were adjusted, a simultaneous decrease in the serum levels of VCAM-1 and S100 was independently associated with good neurological outcomes (odds ratio, 9.285; 95% confidence interval, 1.073 to 80.318; P=0.043). Conclusion A simultaneous decrease in the serum levels of soluble VCAM-1 and S100 within the first 24 hours after the return of spontaneous circulation was associated with a good neurological outcome in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survivors.

Dust filter membranes play a crucial role in human life and various industries, as they contribute to several important aspects of human health, safety, and environmental protection. This study presents the development of a polysulfone@polyphenylene sulfide/polytetrafluoroethylene (PSf@PPS/ePTFE) composite dust filter membrane with excellent thermal stability and adhesion properties for high-temperature conditions. FT-IR analysis confirms successful impregnation of PSf adhesive onto PPS fabric and interaction with ePTFE support. FE-SEM images reveal improved fiber interconnection and adhesion with increased PSf concentration. PSf@PPS/ePTFE-5 exhibits the most suitable porous structure. The composite membrane demonstrates exceptional thermal stability up to 400℃. Peel resistance tests show sufficient adhesion for dust filtration, ensuring reliable performance under tough, high-temperature conditions without compromising air permeability. This membrane offers promising potential for industrial applications. Further optimizations and applications can be explored.
To enhance the performance of graphene-based devices, it is of great importance to better understand the interfacial interaction of graphene with its underlying substrates. In this study, the adhesion energy of monolayer graphene placed on dielectric substrates was characterized using mode I fracture tests. Large-area monolayer graphene was synthesized on copper foil using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) with methane and hydrogen. The synthesized graphene was placed on target dielectric substrates using polymer-assisted wet transfer technique. The monolayer graphene placed on a substrate was mechanically delaminated from the dielectric substrate by mode I fracture tests using double cantilever beam configuration. The obtained force-displacement curves were analyzed to estimate the adhesion energies, showing 1.13 ± 0.12 J/m2 for silicon dioxide and 2.90 ± 0.08 J/m2 for silicon nitride. This work provides the quantitative measurement of the interfacial interactions of CVD-grown graphene with dielectric substrates.
We report the results of evaluating the hardness, flexibility, and adhesion between the protective layer and the stealth sheet after applying a protective layer to improve the practicality of the flexible stealth sheet. The result of the ISO 15184 pencil hardness test showed that the hardness increased from HB to 3H by three grades when a protective layer was applied. The flexibility evaluation was conducted by bending the material against cylinders of certain diameters and observing whether cracks occurred according to the ASTM D522 test method. The result showed that the minimum diameter was 0.125 inches. The adhesion was evaluated by using the ASTM D3359 test method, attaching and peeling off an adhesive strip to the protective layer and determining the proportion of the protective layer peeling off. The result was 5B, which is better than the military adhesion limit of 4B.
Adhesion of $SrZrO_3$ resistive oxide barrier on Ag sheathed Bi(2223) tapes prepared by the sol-gel and dip-coating method was evaluated with an aid of Taguchi method and Lie($2^1{\times}3^7$) orthogonal arrays to determine the optimal process combination of levels of factors that best satisfy the bigger is better quality characteristic (QC=B). For analyses of results statistical calculations such as average and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were employed to analyze the results for improving the performance qualities of the dip-coated $SrZrO_3$ film. Experimentally, the performance of the films was evaluated in terms of bond strength by varying Sr/Zr moi ratio (A), amount of organic vehicle additives (B), drying temperature (C) and time (D), heat treatment temperature (E) and time (F), respectively. The optimal combination of levels of factors was determined to be $A_3B_2C_3D_2E_1F_3$ having a 90% confidence level.

The bonding of the asphalt-based waterproof sheet is carried out in such a manner that the sheet and the sheet are adhered together and the lower adhesive layer of one sheet is adhered to the upper film layer of the other sheet, and the asphalt layer and the PE or HDPE film layer are bonded. When the joints are formed in the form of junctions between heterogeneous materials and exposed to the concrete joint movements and other deteriorating factors, the integrity of the joints can deteriorate and problems such as lifting and peeling off of the joints can occur. Therefore, this study was carried out to prevent unstable joint adhesion of the asphalt compound and film layer and to prevent defects in the adhesion between self - adhesive waterproof sheets. The self-adhesive waterproof sheet of this study can maximize bond stability by inducing bond between asphalt compounds during sheet-to-sheet bonding, thereby improving bonding strength.

Recently, various film coated insert tools have been used in order to improve tool life by several different vapor deposition or chemical vapor deposition. Especially, TiN coated drills have been broadly studied because of improving drill performance in terms of drill life, work quality and its brilliant color. Nevertheless, because of the poor adhesion between TiN film and drill, it was difficult to attain the better drill performance. Therefore, to improve adhesion of TiN films, we sputtered titanium as interlayer prior to TiN deposition on drill by PECVD(Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition). The results indicate that Ti/TiN coated drills achieve about 2.6 times life improvement, while TiN coated drills only 2 times. Wear characteristics of tested drills were examined using SEM, and the results were correlated with drill life and roughness of drilled holes.

The combined waterproofing method is an excellent method to overcome the disadvantages of the single waterproofing method by composing two or more materials to complement each other, but it is a method that can cause defects such as separation and peeling between materials due to the heterogeneity of the applied two materials. In order to improve this, in this study, we aimed to develop a technology for inducing chemical unification between materials through a urea reaction with a coating material applied on the lower side by laminating a nonwoven fabric treated with a modified amine on the back surface of the sheet material, The adhesion performance test was carried out with the presence or absence of denatured amine treated nonwovens as variables. As a result of the test, it was confirmed that the adhesion performance of the specimen to which the modified amin - treated nonwoven fabric was applied was improved by about 60% or more as compared with the specimens not having the denatured amine treated specimen.
