Physico-chemical changes of the plasma modified titanium alloy [Ti-6Al-4V] surface were studied with respect to their crystallographic changes by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).The plasma-treatment of surface was carried out to enhance adhesion of high performance nano reinforced epoxy adhesive, a phenomenon that was manifested in subsequent experimental results. The enhancement of adhesion as a consequence of improved spreading and wetting on metal surface was studied by contact angle (sessile drop method) and surface energy determination, which shows a distinct increase in polar component of surface energy. The synergism in bond strength was established by analyzing the lap-shear strength of titanium laminate. The extent of enhancement in thermal stability of the dispersed nanosilica particles reinforced epoxy adhesive was studied by Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), which shows an increase in onset of degradation and high amount of residuals at the high temperature range under study. The fractured surfaces of the joint were examined by Scanning electron microscope (SEM).
There are the impregnating layer formation by surface protective materials or impregnants and the adhesion method by polymer, FRP sheet or steel plate in the surface protective method of concrete structure. The surface impregnation method by impregnants improves the durability of concrete structure by modifying the structure of the concrete surface and also have a merit that can be shortly applied in place without the decrease of concrete surface appearance and is easily applied again. This study is interested in manufacturing the concrete surface impregnants including lithium and potassium silicate for the repair of the exposed concrete and the color concrete requiring the advanced function in view of the concrete appearance. The durability and porosity properties was tested for the review of application. The result of this study show that the effective content of silicate ranges 5 to 20% and the separate application of the first impregnant and the second impregnant is effective for the optimum performance. The adhesion in tension is slightly increased but the reinforcement of concrete substrate is slight. So, the concrete impregnant of this study is more desirable for the improvement of durability rather than the reinforcement.
In this paper, a 4-wheel vehicle model including the effects of tire slip was considered, along with variable parameter sliding control, pushrod force as the end control parameter, and an antilock sliding control, in order to improve the performance of the vehicle longitudinal response. The variable sliding parameter is made to be proportional to the square root of the pressure derivative at the wheel, in order to compensate for large pressure changes in the brake cylinder. A typical tire force-relative slip curve for dry road conditions was used to generate an analytical tire force-relative slip function, and an antilock sliding control process based on the analytical tire force-relative slip function was used. A retrofitted brake system, with the pushrod force as the end control parameter, was employed, and an average decay function was used to suppress the simulation oscillations. Simulation results indicate that the velocity and spacing errors were slightly larger than the results that without considering wheel slip effect, the spacing errors of the lead and follower were insensitive to the adhesion coefficient up to the critical wheel slip value, and the limit for the antilock control on non-constant adhesion road condition was determined by the minimum of the equivalent adhesion coefficient.

High temperature / high pressure spray equipment using a conventional method, unlike spray polyurea adjustable pot life and yellowing caused by UV light and chemicals do not occur, or discoloration of Self-Leveling Type of rugged hand-polyurea resin for technology development is underway. This new concept of polyurea resin roller, brush, airless spray, and they installed easily using the unfamiliar labor, and curing time of approximately four hours to gain control of the glass because it is Pot. Construction, but does not like the spray polyurea resin, compared to the existing degradation of the adhesion strength is concerned. In this study, Self-Leveling Type Manual of polyurea resin adhesion strength of target deterioration Let's minimize problems by reviewing existing domestic and infrastructure long-term durability for long life of the facility is to obtain.

The physicochemical characteristics, adhesion power, and conservation of imported tapes repairing documents that consisted of adhesive, carrier, and masking were investigated. Materials related to pressure sensitive adhesive produced in domestic companies were examined also. And then, the performance evaluation of prototype manufactured in our laboratory was undertaken. Both the pressure sensitive tapes were compared. The polyacrylate of adhesive agents such as polyacrylate, starch, Glue, and PVA of imported tapes was best. The adhesion strength, power, reversibility, and stability (deterioration) of imported tapes were analyzed. By comparing results of imported tapes, two adhesive agents were selected finally. The carriers of imported tapes are made of one of papers, cotton sheets, and felts. Major carrier material was a paper. The jutes, conifers, and hardwoods were main ingredient of papers. The durability of Hangi($18{\pm}2g/m^2$) was one and half times superior to imported one.
In semiconductor processing, there are two types of particle contaminated onto the wafer, i.e. dry and wet state particles. In order to evaluate the cleaning performance of laser shock wave cleaning method, the removal of 1 m sized alumina particle at different particle conditions from silicon wafer has been carried out by laser-induced shock waves. It was found that the removal efficiency by laser shock cleaning was strongly dependent on the particle condition, i.e. the removal efficiency of dry alumina particle from silicon wafer was around 97% while the efficiencies of wet alumina particle in DI water and IPA are 35% and 55% respectively. From the analysis of adhesion forces between the particle and the silicon substrate, the adhesion force of the wet particle where capillary force is dominant is much larger than that of the dry particle where Van der Waals force is dominant. As a result, it is seen that the particle in wet condition is much more difficult to remove from silicon wafer than the particle in dry condition by using physical cleaning method such as laser shock cleaning.
In this paper, the influence of initial formaldehyde/urea (F/U) molar ratios on the performance of low molar ratio (1.0) urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin adhesives has been investigated. Two initial F/U molar ratios, i.e., the first and second initial molar ratios were used for the alkaline addition reaction. Three levels of the first initial F/U molar ratios (2.0, 3.0, and 4.0) and two levels of the second initial molar ratios (2.0 and 1.7) were employed to prepare a total of six UF resins with an identical final molar ratio (1.0). The basis properties, functional groups, molecular weight, crystallinity, and thermal curing properties of the UF resins were characterized in detail. Higher levels (3.0 and 4.0) of the first initial F/U molar ratio provided the UF resins with better properties (non-volatile solids content, viscosity, gelation time, pH, and specific gravity) than those of the resins prepared with the conventional level F/U molar ratio of 2.0. Statistical analysis suggested that combining the first and second initial molar ratio of 4.0 with 1.7 would result in UF resins with greater adhesion strength and lower formaldehyde emission than those of the resins prepared with other molar ratios. The results showed that higher levels of the first initial molar ratio resulted in a more branched structure, as indicated by GPC, FTIR, DSC, XRD, and greater adhesion strength than those of the other UF resins with an identical final molar ratio of 1.0.

Interfacial shear strength (IFSS) of environmentally friendly natural fiber reinforced polymer composites plays a very important role in controlling the overall mechanical performance. The IFSS of various Ramie and Kenaf fibers/epoxy composites was evaluated using the combination of micromechanical test and nondestructive acoustic emission (AE) to find out optimal conditions for desirable final performance. Dynamic contact angle was measured for Ramie and Kenaf fibers and correlated the wettability properties with interfacial adhesion. Mechanical properties of Ramie and Kenaf fibers were investigated using single-fiber tensile test and analyzed statistically by both uni-and bimodal Weibull distributions. An influence of clamping effect on a real elongation for both Ramie and Kenaf fibers were evaluated as well. Two different microfailure modes, axial debonding and fibril fracture coming from fiber bundles and single fiber composites (SFC) were observed under tension and compression.

To prepare transparent acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs), terpolymer syrups were photopolymerized from 2- ethylhexyl acrylate and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate with third monomer having different chemical structure. After polymerization, 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate as a crosslinker and a photoinitiator were added and then UV-irradiated to prepare the PSAs. The adhesion performances and optical characteristics of the PSAs were investigated. Their adhesion performance was dependent on the composition of monomers in the polymer chain but optical properties were maintained at a suitable level. The PSAs prepared by bulky and heteroatom-containing monomers such as IBOA, THFA, and ACMO showed better adhesion performance than others.
As the enhancement of indoor air quality is increasingly compelling the use of natural materials without any emission, this study reports the preparation and performance of natural garlic adhesives for wallpaper. The natural garlic adhesives were successfully prepared by the extraction of the clove of raw garlic with water to isolate carbohydrates and proteins. Properties of the prepared garlic adhesives such as the non volatile solids content, viscosity, density, and pH were 62%, 2,789 mPa.s, $1.3g/cm^3$, and 6.6, respectively. The non-volatile solids content has a great impact on the adhesion performance of the prepared garlic adhesives, which was adequate about 60%. Bonding strength of prepared garlic adhesives was greater than the requirement of a Korean standard for wallpaper. In addition, the garlic adhesives showed antibacterial activity inheriting from the garlic. It is expected that the prepared garlic adhesives could be used as safe and natural adhesives without emitting any volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde gas.
