  • In this paper, I will describe the trends of multicast address allocation mechanism. IP Multicast efficiently supports this type of transmission by enabling sources to send a single copy of a message to multiple recipients who explicitly want to receive the information. Generally, MAAs server or MADCAP servers are used to allocate multicast addresses. As the need of home networking and autoconfiguring network mechanism has been increased, not only automatic host IP configuration but also automatic multicast address generation mechanism was demanded. in this paper, I will explain the automatic multicast address mechanism in a host. management techniques and the trends of multicast address generation and allocation mechanism that is bong now discussed In IETF.

  • In this paper, we propose a vector quantization method which uses a dynamic address mapping based on exploring the high interblock correlation. In the proposed method, we reduce bit-rate by defining an address transform function, which maps a VQ address of an input block which will be encoded into a new address in the reordered codebook by using side match error. In one case that an original address can be transformed into a new transformed address which is lower than the threshold value, we encode the new address of the transformed convector, and in the other case we encode the address of the original convector which is not transformed. Experimental results indicate that the proposed scheme reduces the bit-rate by 45~50% compared with the ordi-nary VQ method forimage compression, at the same quality of the reconstructed image as that of the ordinary VQ system.

  • For the effective IP-based service implementation in the wireless network environment, involvement of IP-related technologies in wireless networks is inevitable and globally unique IPv6 address allocation to the mobile node has become an important issue. In the 3GPP's address allocation mechanism, IPv6 address allocation procedure is performed by the GGSN, which is normally located far from the mobile nodes. This causes IPv6 address allocation time delay and traffics to be longer and increased in the core network, respectively. In this paper, we propose a new IPv6 address allocation mechanism that is performed by Node B located in RAN. The proposed IPv6 address allocation mechanism can provide IPv6 addresses to mobile nodes within a more reduced time than existing 3GPP's IPv6 address allocation mechanism, and co-operates with existing mechanism as an overlay model to improve reliability of wireless networks. And, for implementation of the proposed address allocation mechanism, it needs not to change the structure of current wireless networks except for the some functional addendum of Node B.

  • It is well known that the current wireless sensor networks addressing methods do not work efficiently in networks more than a few hundred nodes. A standard protocol in ZigBee-Standard feature in ZigBee 2007 gives balanced tree based address assignment method with distributed manner. However, it was limited to cover less than hundreds of sensor nodes due to the wasteful use of available address space, because composed sensor networks usually make an unbalanced tree topology in the real deployment. In this paper, we proposed the hierarchical cluster tree based address assignment method to support large and scalable networks. This method provides unique address for each node with distributed manner and supports hierarchical cluster tree on-demand. Simulation results show that the proposed method reduces orphan nodes due to the address exhaustion and supports larger network with limited address space compared with the ZigBee distributed address assignment method defined in ZigBee-Standard feature in ZigBee 2007.

  • An advantage of the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is that mobile nodes can self-organize the network topology without the help of network infrastructure. However, for the perfect self-organization of the MANET, each mobile node needs to self-configure its address. Even though a mobile node configures a unique address during the booting time, its address may conflict with nodes in other MANETs since MANETs containing the same address can be merged. The address autoconfiguration protocol implemented in this work consists of the strong DAD (Duplicate Address Detection) and the weak DAD. A unique address of a node is assigned by the strong DAD during the booting time and the weak DAD is used to detect address conflict and resolve address conflict during the ad hoc routing. In this work, we have implemented address autoconfiguration in the IPv6-based MANET using AODV as the routing protocol. We describe how the IPv6 address autoconfiguration is implemented and verify our implementation by showing the test scenarios on our testbed.

  • Obtaining delivery addresses from calls is one of the most important processes in TV home shopping business. By automating this process, the operational efficiency of TV home shopping can be increased. In this paper, a method of recognizing and validating road name address, which is the address system of South Korea, from speech oriented text is proposed. The speech oriented text has three challenges. The first is that the numbers are represented in the form of pronunciation. The second is that the recorded address has noises that are made from repeated pronunciation of the same address, or unordered address. The third is that the readability of the resulted address. For resolving these problems, the proposed method enhances the existing address databases provided by the Korea Post and Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Various types of pronouncing address are added, and heuristic rules for dividing ambiguous pronunciations are employed. And the processed address is validated by checking the existence in the official address database. Even though, this proposed method is for the STT result of the address pronunciation, this also can be used for any 3rd party services that need to validate road name address. The proposed method works robustly on noises such as positions change or omission of elements.

  • To effectively control a vast amount of postal packages, we need the automatic system for extracting the address region from CCD scanner images. In this paper, we propose a address region extraction algorithm in the standard postal label. We used geometric characteristics of the underlying address regions and defined several criteria for fast detection of address regions. As a result, we accomplished a successful detection and classification of the postal package labels in real time.

  • Recently most of the home and small-size company use ADSL(Asymmetric Digital subscriber Line) or Cable Modem for using Internet Services. The number of Internet IP Address in current Internet IP Address System(IPv4) that is consisted of 4byte is almost empty, so generally the IP Address assigned dynamically is used. This way is just OK in general uses, but not OK in Internet Servers operation. This paper designed the gateway(Gate-D) system which is enable any system that get IP Address assigned dynamically to serve Internet Server Services(Telnet, FTP, HTTP, Mail, etc …), and made sure the worth by using Telnet Server.

  • Multicast addresses cannot be permanently assigned to particular application or group combination, but need to be available for re-use. So, this requires a dynamic multicast address allocation and release mechanism. For a dynamic multicast address allocation and release mechanism, we must consider low blocking probability, low delay, low control traffic overhead. In this paper, we suggest a efficient dynamic multicast address allocation and release mechanism based on the multicast scope

  • The address resolution protocol (ARP) provides dynamic mapping between two different forms of addresses: the 32-bit Internet protocol (IP) address of the network layer and the 48-bit medium access control (MAC) address of the data link layer. A host computer finds the MAC address of the default gateway or the other hosts on the same subnet by using ARP and can then send IP packets. However, ARP can be used for network attacks, which are one of the most prevalent types of network attacks today. In this study, a new ARP algorithm that can prevent IP spoofing attacks is proposed. The proposed ARP algorithm is a broadcast ARP reply and an ARP notification. The broadcast ARP reply was used for checking whether the ARP information was forged. The broadcast ARP notification was used for preventing a normal host's ARP table from being poisoned. The proposed algorithm is backward compatible with the current ARP protocol and dynamically prevents any ARP spoofing attacks. In this study, the proposed ARP algorithm was implemented on the Linux operating system; here, we present the test results with respect to the prevention of ARP spoofing attacks.
