Trend Impact Analysis is a prominent hybrid method has been used in future studies with a modified surprise- free forecast. It considers experts' perceptions about how future events may change the surprise-free forecast. It is an advanced forecasting tool used in futures studies for identifying, understanding and analyzing the consequences of unprecedented events on future trends. In this paper, we propose an advanced mechanism to generate more justifiable estimates to the probability of occurrence of an unprecedented event as a function of time with different degrees of severity using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The key idea of the paper is to enhance the generic process of reasoning with fuzzy logic and neural network by adding the additional step of attributes simulation, as unprecedented events do not occur all of a sudden but rather their occurrence is affected by change in the values of a set of attributes. An ANFIS approach is used to identify the occurrence and severity of an event, depending on the values of its trigger attributes.

In this paper an ANFIS(Adativo Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System)- based fault detection and diagnosis for a closed loop control system is proposed. The proposed diagnostic system contains two ANFIS. One is run as a parallel model within the model in closed loop control(MCL) and the other is run as a series-parallel model within the process in closed loop(PCL) for the generation of relevant symptoms for fault diagnosis. These symptoms are further processed by another classification logic with simple rules and neural network for process and controller fault diagnosis. Experimental results for a DC shunt motor control system illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed diagnostic scheme.
Compressive strength is one of the most important engineering properties of concrete, and testing of the compressive strength of concrete specimens is often costly and time consuming. In order to provide the time for concrete form removal, re-shoring to slab, project scheduling and quality control, it is necessary to predict the concrete strength based upon the early strength data. However, concrete compressive strength is affected by many factors, such as quality of raw materials, water cement ratio, ratio of fine aggregate to coarse aggregate, age of concrete, compaction of concrete, temperature, relative humidity and curing of concrete. The concrete compressive strength is a quite nonlinear function that changes depend on the materials used in the concrete and the time. This paper presents an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) for the prediction of concrete compressive strength. The training of fuzzy system was performed by a hybrid method of gradient descent method and least squares algorithm, and the subtractive clustering algorithm (SCA) was utilized for optimizing the number of fuzzy rules. Experimental data on concrete compressive strength in the literature were used to validate and evaluate the performance of the proposed ANFIS model. Further, predictions from three models (the back propagation neural network model, the statistics model, and the ANFIS model) were compared with the experimental data. The results show that the proposed ANFIS model is a feasible, efficient, and accurate tool for predicting the concrete compressive strength.
An algorithm for a hybrid controller consists of a sliding mode control part and a fuzzy logic part which ar purposely for nonlinear systems. The sliding mode part of the solution is based on "eigenvalue/vector"-type controller is used as the backstepping approach for tracking errors. The fuzzy logic part is a Mamdani fuzzy model. This is designed by applying sliding mode control (SMC) method to the dynamic model. The main objective is to keep the update dynamics in a stable region by used SMC. After that the plant behavior is presented to train procedure of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems (ANFIS). ANFIS architecture is determined and the relevant formulation for the approach is given. Using the error (e) and rate of error (de), occur due to the difference between the desired output value (yd) and the actual output value (y) of the system. A dynamic adaptation law is proposed and proved the particularly chosen form of the adaptation strategy. Subsequently VSC creates a sliding mode in the plant behavior while the parameters of the controller are also in a sliding mode (stable trainer). This study considers the ANFIS structure with first order Sugeno model containing nine rules. Bell shaped membership functions with product inference rule are used at the fuzzification level. Finally the Mamdani fuzzy logic which is depends on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems structure designed. At the transferable stage from ANFIS to Mamdani fuzzy model is adjusted for the membership function of the input value (e, de) and the actual output value (y) of the system could be changed to trapezoidal and triangular functions through tuning the parameters of the membership functions and rules base. These help adjust the contributions of both fuzzy control and variable structure control to the entire control value. The application example, control of a mass-damper system is considered. The simulation has been done using MATLAB. Three cases of the controller will be considered: for backstepping sliding-mode controller, for hybrid controller, and for adaptive backstepping sliding-mode controller. A numerical example is simulated to verify the performances of the proposed control strategy, and the simulation results show that the controller designed is more effective than the adaptive backstepping sliding mode controller.

In this paper, an Adaptive neuro-fuzzy Inference system(ANFIS) using fuzzy min-max network(FMMN) is proposed. Fuzzy min-max network classifier that utilizes fuzzy sets as pattern classes is described. Each fuzzy set is an aggregation of fuzzy set hyperboxes. Here, the proposed method transforms the hyperboxes into gaussian menbership functions, where the transformed membership functions are inserted for generating fuzzy rules of ANFIS. Finally, we applied the proposed method to the classification problem of iris data and obtained a better performance than previous works.
The purpose of this study is to test the applicability of neuro-fuzzy system for monthly dam inflow forecasts by using weather forecasting information. The neuro-fuzzy algorithm adopted in this study is the ANFIS(Adaptive neuro-fuzzy Inference System) in which neural network theory is combined with fuzzy theory. The ANFIS model can experience the difficulties in selection of a control rule by a space partition because the number of control value increases rapidly as the number of fuzzy variable increases. In an effort to overcome this drawback, this study used the subtractive clustering which is one of fuzzy clustering methods. Also, this study proposed a method for converting qualitative weather forecasting information to quantitative one. ANFIS for monthly dam inflow forecasts was tested in cases of with or without weather forecasting information. It can be seen that the model performances obtained from the use of past observed data and future weather forecasting information are much better than those from past observed data only.

As the Android operating system has become a key target for malware authors, Android protection has become a thriving research area. Beside the proved importance of system permissions for malware analysis, there is a lot of overlapping in permissions between malware apps and goodware apps. The exploitation of them effectively in malware detection is still an open issue. In this paper, to investigate the feasibility of neuro-fuzzy techniques to Android protection based on system permissions, we introduce a self-adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system to classify the Android apps into malware and goodware. According to the framework introduced, the most significant permissions that characterize optimally malware apps are identified using Information Gain Ratio method and encapsulated into patterns of features. The patterns of features data is used to train and test the system using stratified cross-validation methodologies. The experiments conducted conclude that the proposed classifier can be effective in Android protection. The results also underline that the neuro-fuzzy techniques are feasible to employ in the field.

Most of systems has nonlinearity . And also accurate modelings of these uncertain nonlinear systems are very difficult. In this paper, a fuzzy modeling technique for the stabilization control of an IP(inverted pendulum) system with nonlinearity was proposed. The fuzzy modeling was acquired on the basis of ANFIS(Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Infernce System) which could learn using a series of input-output data pairs. Simulation results showed its superiority to the PID controller. We believe that its applicability can be extended to the other nonlinear systems.

Numerical analysis model is proposed to predict the dynamic behavior of a single-degree-of-freedom structure that is equipped with hybrid base isolation system. Hybrid base isolation system is composed of friction pendulum systems (FPS) and a magnetorheological (MR) damper. A neuro-fuzzy model is used to represent dynamic behavior of the MR damper. Fuzzy model of the MR damper is trained by ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) using various displacement, velocity, and voltage combinations that are obtained from a series of performance tests. Modelling of the FPS is carried out with a nonlinear analytical equation that is derived in this study and neuro-fuzzy training. Fuzzy logic controller is employed to control the command voltage that is sent to MR damper. The dynamic responses of experimental structure subjected to various earthquake excitations are compared with numerically simulated results using neuro-fuzzy modeling method. Numerical simulation using neuro-fuzzy models of the MR damper and FPS predict response of the hybrid base isolation system very well.
Rain attenuation and intercell interference are two crucial factors in the performance of broadband wireless access networks such as local multipoint distribution systems (LMDS) operating at frequencies above 20 GHz. Power control can enhance the performance of downlink CDMA-based LMDS systems by reducing intercell interference under clear sky conditions; however, it may damage system performance under rainy conditions. To ensure robust operation under both clear sky and rainy conditions, we propose a novel power-control scheme which applies an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) for downlink CDMA-based LMDS systems. In the proposed system, the rain rate and the number of users are two inputs of the fuzzy inference system, and output is defined as channel quality, which is applied in the power control scheme to adjust the power control region. Moreover, ITU-R P.530 is employed to estimate the rain attenuation. The influence of the rain rate and the number of users on the distance-based power control (DBPC) scheme is included in the simulation model as the training database. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme improves the throughput of the DBPC scheme.
