  • When multimedia contents are adapted to different terminals in the ubiquitous computing environment, the contents' modalities can be converted variously. In this paper, we present an efficient user preference that enable user to specify his choices on the modalities of the adapted contents. We also propose the methods to systematically integrate the user preference into the content adaptation process. This modality conversion preference has been developed as a description tool for MPEG-21 Digital Item Adaptation (DIA).

  • For avoiding the waste of costs for building each mobile platform according to each mobile communication vender, KWISF proposed WIPI platform standard. Already the venders are providing mobile map services which are adapted on their own platforms. Because the integration of various mobile platform was performed to WIPI standard, the changes of platform and component API may cause the environment changes of mobile nap services. This study shows the design and implementation results of mobile map services adapted to WPI environments.

  • A shop floor can be considered as and importand level to develop a Computer Integrated Manufacturing system (CIMs). The shop foor is a dynamic environment where unexpected events contrinuously occur, and impose changes to planned activities. The shop floor should adopt an appropriate control system that is responsible for scheduling coordination and moving the manufacturing material and information flow. In this paper, the architecture of the hybrid control model identifies three levels; i.e., the shop floor controller (SFC), the cell controller(CC) and the equipment controller (EC). The methodology for developing these controller is employ an object-oriented approach for static models and IDEF0 for function models for dispatching a job. SFC and CC are coordinated by employing a multi-factors bidding and an adapted Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) prove applicability of the suggested method. Test experiment has been conducted by with the shopfloor, consisting of six manufacturing cells.

  • For various historical reasons and some technical reasons, the safety of dams has been controlled by an engineering standards-based approach, which has developed over many years, initially for the design of new dams, but increasingly applied over the past few decades to assess the safety of existing dams. And some countries were asked for risk assessment on existing dam, which included structural, hydraulic safety of dam and social risk. So, Many countries were developed and could be adapted as an additional tool to assist in decision-making for dam safety management.

  • Nowadays environmental education is getting important. So, it is necessary to teach for students to realize the protection environment. Self-direct homepage was developed for 'Ecology & environment' environmental education. This homepage was made for sharing searched data and can be interactive each other on the internet. Therefore, in this study, environmental teaming was planned and practiced for high school 'Ecology & environment' class by e-PBL. Self-directed teaming, collaborative teaming and performance assessment are emphasized in the 7th educational curriculum. The PBL is efficient learning model for them. This study designed for a teaching and teaming method and strategies using PBL based upon the theories and practices. This study will also develop an e-learning. As a result, it is indicated that the teaching and learning method using PBL has the positive effects on learning that the development of self-directed learning and collaboration teaming Is observed by reflect journal and presentation of students. e-PBL is a teaming model for learning-centered that adapted many school and subject. Therefore e-PBL makes full use of be 'Ecology & environment' class and environmental education.

Acid Resistance of Cronobacter sakazakii (Cronobacter sakazakii의 산 저항성)

  • The objective of this study was to determine the resistance of Cronobacter sakazakii in acidic environments. The D-values of CAFM2 (ATCC 29544), EB 1, EB 5, and EB 41 at pH 2.5 in TSB were significantly (p<0.05) higher when cells were adapted at pH 4.5 in TSB for 5-h then when cells were not adapted at pH 4.5 in TSB. The D-values of CAFM2, EB1, and EB 41 at pH 2.5 in TSB were significantly (p<0.05) higher when cells were adapted at pH 4.5 in TSB for 10-h then when cells were not adapted at pH 4.5 in TSB. The D-values of CAFM2 and EB1 at pH 2.5 in TSB were significantly (p<0.05) higher when cells were adapted at pH 4.5 in TSB for 24-h then when cells were not adapted at pH 4.5 in TSB. The adaptation of C. sakazakii to mild acidic environments may result in increased resistance to severe acidic environments. The D-values of all test strains at pH 2.5 in TSB were significantly (p<0.05) higher when cells were cultured at pH 4.5 then when they were cultured at pH 7.2 in TSB. These data indicate that cells cultured in mildly acidic environments may result in increased resistance to severe acidic environments. The acid adaptation of C. sakazakii showed an increased resistance to acidic environments. The acid adaptation response of C. sakazakii has important implications for food safety, which should be considered when food preservation measures are developed.

Today, failure mechanism which differs from one that was happened by restricted harmful environment material before adapted the raw of environment material is changing the paradigm of reliability engineering. Thus, when applied the environment matter of original and secondary material at the electronic goods were removed, reliability assessment method and prediction stay into low level. This study suggests as solution to overcome these phenomenon. The study on the management method of environmental restriction substances which is recognized as important element in the reliability assessment about environment material of electronic goods and the study on reliability assessment method of PWB without environment material are progressed.

Analysis of Physical Environmental Factors and the Structure of Fish Community in the Gapyeong Stream (가평천의 물리적 환경요인과 어류 군집구조 분석)

  • Physical environmental factors (water depth, current velocity and substrate) and fish community were surveyed in the Gapyeong stream, Korea. The fish group of Gapyeong Stream was divided into three types. Lithophilic fish, Koreocobitis rotundicaudata and Pseudopungtungia tenuicorpa preferred shallow depth, low-velocity current, and coarse bed condition, whereas Coreoleuciscus splendidus and Microphysogobio longidorsalis were adapted to high-velocity current and bed materials. Nektonic fish, Zacco koreanus and Zacco platypus appeared in a wide range of physical conditions. Intermediate fish, Hemibarbus longirostris, Pungtungia herzi and Coreoperca herzi adapted to moderate water depths and current velocities. Among them, H. longirostris and C. herzi were adapt to various bed materials. C. splendidus, M. longidorsalis and P. herzi showed high niche overlap for current velocity, water depth and substrate with Z. koreanus and Z. platypus. The occurrence of M. longidorsalis in a relatively low-velocity current compared to Z. koreanus and Z. platypus suggests that the current velocity act as a isolation factor for these species. The competition, isolation and character displacement among these species investigated detail in the future. Based on canonical correspondence analysis, the relative importance of each environmental factor was determined as substrate > water depth > current velocity.

  • Consumers have paid attention to various functions of PC's nowadays from its efficiency in the past. This study set limits to adapted computers by consumer needs for their residence facilities and ubiquitous environment in our society. The purpose of this study is to suggest high potentialities of adapted computers and it's design for materializing house ubiquitous system. It has come out from analyzing PC market. The result is that Barebone PC, a kind of set PC, could be one of the most actual way for materializing house ubiquitous system. This study suggests many potentialities of Barebone PC which invites modular system. The existing Barebone PC is a kind of semimanufactures, however the new Barebone PC in this study is a expanded concept of modular system that connected to the area of the electric home appliances. This is inspected by analyzing the relation among potentialities and impotance of set PC design and module.
