The design and implementation of Web Component for Korean to Roman transcription (국어 로마자 전사표기 웹 컴포넌트 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, a web-based automatic transcription component is designed and implemented for mechanical conversion of revised Korean-to-Romanization notation rule. Specially. we proposes system architecture and algorithms that transcript Korean to Roman automatically after transliterate Korean to phonetic symbol applying phonological principles. The components operate under the web server's script mechanism. and the dictionary for exceptional usage is designed as an accessorial function supported either operating at web server internally or externally. The overall system architecture is presented by UML. specification and pseudo code. The proposed architecture can be implemented in encapsulated service by object oriented component and that can be easily adapted and modified on the internet environment and this system may have many advantages to improve efficiency, library reuse. extensibility at software development.

Antioxidant Activities in Germinated and Non-germinated Seeds of Korean Weedy Rice

  • Weedy rice (Oryza sativa) is a semi-wild rice grown in paddy fields and is more adapted to the environment than cultivated rice. Therefore, it is expected that the seeds of weedy rice might contain some chemicals related to its environmental adaptation, such as antioxidants, which may be useful for nutritional and medicinal purposes. This study was carried out to investigate the antioxidant activities of weedy rice compared to a Korean-bred rice cultivar, Sindongjin (SDJ), and to screen lines that show higher antioxidant activity in 199 accessions of weedy rice germplasm collected in Korea. DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity ranged from 31.0 to 91.7%, with an average of 82.5%, and 19 accessions that showed more than 91% antioxidant activity were selected. The 19 accessions were re-screened against non-germinated brown rice (BR) and germinated brown rice (GBR) using four assays, total phenol determination, DPPH radical scavenging, ABTS radical scavenging, and reducing power activities. The results showed that accession 'WD3' had the highest antioxidant capacity in both BR and GBR, suggesting that WD3 is a promising potential source of antioxidants and could be developed as a potentially functional substance material.

First, need that supply reliable and objective information about exhibition utilizing active public relations of domestic trade show certification system and international certification system. Second, I need to reinforce budget support estimation to expand governmental budget support and strengthen professionalism of exhibition operation. Third, need to seek globalization strategy of exhibition industry concretely to overcome realistic limit of domestic exhibition industry. Institutional improvement for long-term public information of exhibition and participation company's satisfaction raising and infra for gallery's management result should be established. Fourth, need excavation of various first-hand field marketing that can dig various interaction method with customers and invite new customers by booth exhibition. Fifth, need professional worker positivity, deflation that fulfill knowledge that is adapted, and precedes in environment worldwide exhibition industry training actively universal exhibition industry professional worker. Foreign exhibition is an one of marketing tactics that is generalized that can approach to oversea market in less expense relatively. To measure exactly fact and participation result of exhibition that select suitable exhibition in one's own company's marketing goal in company's standpoint that participate in exhibition according as exhibition number is increased and function of exhibition is diversified became difficult.

  • Wireless access network section needs strong security which supports high data rate and mobility not to invade patient's privacy by exposing patient's sensitive biometric from automatic implantable device that is adapted to u-healthcare service. This paper builds test bed and performs assessment and measurement of security ability of WiMAX network to transmit and receive mobile patient's biometric by building WiMAX network in wireless access network not to expose paitne's biometirc at wireless access network section to the third person. Specially, this paper compares and assesses data security, MAC control message security, handover conection delay, and frame loss and bandwidth of ECDH at the layer of WiMAX security compliance, WiMAX MAC IPSec, and MAC.

  • In recent years, Korea's apparel exports to the USA have faced a great threat, as the trade environment around the world has changed continually. The purpose of this study is to analyze the competitive position of Korean apparel exports to the USA, and to enhance export competitiveness by applying to offshore sourcing. The trade data of the Office of Textiles and Apparel(OTEXA) in the U.S. Department of Commerce were selected for inquiry about export competitiveness of apparel products made in Korea. In addition, we targeted members of the Korea Apparel Industry Association among the 500 exporters of clothing items in "The Import and Export Textile Product 2003." A total 70 sheets were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Korean apparel exports to USA have decreased by 20-35 percent per year since 2005 under the Free Trade Area, showing that Korean apparel industries have not adapted to the new trade environment. Although Korean apparel exports to USA have indicated a trade surplus from now on, Korean apparel industries should find new ways to overcome this situation, diminishing exports and increasing imports. 2) Korean apparel companies selected more offshore sourcing than domestic sourcing. Also, as Korean apparel companies manufactured apparel products offshore, foreign subcontracting outranked manufacturing in their own foreign plants. When they chose foreign countries to source, they turned mainly to China and Vietnam. Also, they considered the target country's manufacturing price, labor stability, apparel products, quality, lead time, and so on. In order to increase apparel exports, Korean apparel industries should focus more on developing competitively new apparel products, improving the ability of sourcing management, and establishing on-the-spot agencies.

Prediction on Mooring Tension & Motion Response Characteristics of a Floating Dock in Regular Waves (규칙파 중 플로팅 도크의 운동응답특성 및 계류장력 추정)

  • The paper was investigated on the mooring forces(or tension) and motion response characteristics for a 8-point mooring floating dock in regular waves using a commercial code(AQWA). To achieve the aim of the research, a numerical simulation was adapted on an inner port environment condition, which the water depth is 10 meters, significant wave amplitude(1.05 m). wave period(3.85 sec), wind speed(20.21 m/s), wind and current direction ($90^{\circ}$), incident waves(${\chi}=180^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$). The dimension of the numerical model is length(140 m), breadth(32 m), depth(14.6 m). The maximum length of a mooring line is 120m. We can expected that roll and pitch motions appeared in beam seas better than head sea. the mooring forces also indicated higher in bean seas than in head seas including wind forces.

Determining Soil Quality of Heavy Metal Contaminated Agricultural Field in Korea (중금속 오염 농경지 토양의 토양질 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Heavy metal pollution in agricultural field has been a critical issue in worldwide. For this reason, remediation technologies for heavy metal polluted soil are applied especially near at the abandoned metal mine. Soil quality analysis is also an important factor for proper management in heavy metal polluted agricultural field. In this study, scoring function was utilized to evaluate soil quality in heavy metal polluted agricultural field. Among other soil properties, bulk density, soil pH, EC, $NH_4$-N, $NO_3$-N, and cation exchange capacity (CEC) were determined for minimum data set (MDS) with principal component analysis. Result showed that both upland and paddy soil contaminated with heavy metal were not suitable for crop growth except scoring of soil pH for paddy soil and CEC for upland soil. This result might indicate that chemical stabilization technology with chemical amendment could be adapted for remediation method for heavy metal polluted agiclutural field not only for heavy metal immobilization but also enhancement of soil condition for crop growth.

  • This paper is our first attempt to construct a information processing system such as the living creatures' brain based on artificial life technique. In this paper, we propose a method of constructing neural networks using bio-inspired emergent and evolutionary concept, Ontogeny of living things is realized by cellular automata model and Phylogeny that is living things adaptation ability themselves to given environment, are realized by evolutionary algorithms. Proposing evolving cellular automata neural systems are calledin a word ECANS. A basic component of ECANS is 'cell' which is modeled on chaotic neuron with complex characteristics, In our system, the states of cell are classified into eight by method of connection neighborhood cells. When a problem is given, ECANS adapt itself to the problem by evolutionary method. For fixed cells transition rule, the structure of neural network is adapted by change of initial cell' arrangement. This initial cell is to become a network b developmental process. The effectiveness and the capability of proposed scheme are verified by applying it to pattern classification and robot control problem.

  • Lookup Is one of important factors for network traffic on peer-to-peer network. Especially, large amount of network resources are required for lookup process in p2p file sharing system that clients use the dynamic If and they import to p2p network in random. In this paper, we employ efficient lookup mechanism which searches lookup with the combined information of ISP key values and the extracted key values from SHA-1 hashing function for shared contents id. The proposed mechanism efficiently searches files on the network because the mechanism processes P2P lookup with consideration the routing information of ISP. We suggest the adapted simulation environment based upon the famous file sharing system of emule P2P and experiment the proposed system.

The Effect of Social Support on Adolescents' School-Related Adjustments: The Mediation Effect of Life Satisfaction (사회적지지가 남녀청소년의 학교적응에 미치는 영향: 삶의 만족도의 매개효과)

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between social support, life satisfaction, and school-related adjustments of adolescents. The participants were 260 junior high school students (140 male and 120 female students) from the Seoul area. They completed questionnaires on social support, life satisfaction, and school-related adjustments. The collected data were analyzed using basic descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and a multiple regression analysis. Baron and Kenny's method was used and examined, and the Sobel test was performed to determine the mediating model's significance. It was adapted to SPSS ver. 19.0 for Windows. The major findings were as follows: first, social support (parents/teacher/friend) was positively correlated with the adolescents' school-related adjustment. Second, the adolescents' life satisfaction was also positively correlated with the adolescents' school-related adjustments. In addition, social support was positively correlated with life satisfaction. It was further found that the adolescents' life satisfaction tended to play a perfectly/partially mediating role between social support and school-related adjustment; that is, social support (parents/teacher/friend) was shown to have not only a direct effect, but also an indirect effect through the adolescents' life satisfaction, on the school-related adjustments. These results clearly indicated that adolescents' life satisfaction plays a crucial role in the relationship between social support and the adolescents' school-related adjustments.
