  • There is increasing demand for enterprise smartwork system by a mobile device increases in these days. Therefore, it has been suggested in the technical platform of smartwork system. But,the research of the changeable smartwork system for quick and immediate correspondence of rapidly changing business affairs is insufficient. In this paper, we propose an adaptable mobile service architecture that can be based on the construction of flexible mobile smartwork system. This adaptable mobile service architecture is possible to dynamic service connecting the adaptable service in an existing smartwork system, and the core elements of the adaptable mobile service architecture propose 'Adaptable Service Manager', 'HotSpot', and 'Configurator'. We propose the dyanmic service processs that based on These core elements. Also, we verify the feasibility through case study that develop the project management mobile service that is usable in business of enterprise. Thus, this research provides the adaptable mobile service architecture that can provide the dynamic mobile service beyond the static mobile service of the existing smartwork system for the various change business of enterprise.

  • In ubiquitous environments, the content adaptable services can be dynamically provided to adapt the frequent changes of contexts. These services have common things that the kinds of context factors are limited to ubiquitous environment, though the contexts are flexible. To reuse service architecture can be reasonable for effective adaptable service. In this paper, we design a software architecture with product line techniques for content adaptable applications in ubiquitous environment. Description of product line is to define variation points and their variants, to find out the dependencies between them and to keep the model based architecture, their alternatives.

  • We proposed so-called AFHR (adaptable fuzzy hyper-resolution principle) that can manipulate uncertain knowledge and tune the range of resolution. The AFHR can make a rangable resolution to execute an efficient resolution and can represent linguistic truth values. In this paper, we introduce new concepts of law of contrary, meaningless range level for truth values and strict degree of adaptable resolution. We show that the differences of AFHR and existing fuzzy resolution. Finally we prove completeness of AFHR.

  • Springs have been employed in a wide range of mechanical systems. This work deals with the concept of an adaptable spring mechanism which can arbitrarily modulate its spring characteristics. The adaptable spring is desired for enhancing performances of various mechanical systems employing springs. We demonstrate that such adaptable springs can be realized by adapting anthropomorphic musculoskeletal structures of the human upper-extremity, which possesses highly nonlinear kinematic-coupling among redundant muscles existing in its structures. This phenomenon has been explained by several human arm models. Based on the analysis results, we propose multi-degree-of-freedom spring mechanisms resembling the musculoskeletal structure of the human upper-extremity, and verifiy the applicability of these mechanisms through simulation.

  • In this study, the method of determining the state of grid points in the adaptable surface particle method based on grid system developed as a free-surface tracing method was improved. The adaptable surface particle method is a method of determining the state of the grid point according to the shape of the free-surface and obtaining the intersection of the given free-surface and grid line where the state of the grid point changes. It is difficult to determine the state of grid points in the event of rapid flow, such as collision or separation of free-surfaces, and this study suggests a method for determining the state of current grid points using the state of surrounding grid points where the state of grid point are known. A grid layer value was assigned sequentially to a grid away from the free-surface, centering on the boundary cell where the free-surface exists, to identify the connection information that the grid was separated from the free-surface, and to determine the state of the grid point sequentially from a grid away from the free-surface to a grid close to the free-surface. To verify the improved method, a numerical analysis was made on the problem of dam break in which a sudden collision of free-surface occurred and the results were compared, and the results were relatively reasonable.

  • As the number of using road in Korea increases, maintenance costs and traffic congestion costs also increase. In order to reduce maintenance cost and time of road, existing long - lived modular road system has been proposed. In this study, the design and performance evaluation of the adaptable support module, which is the substructure of the proposed system, was performed. Two adaptable (Cross-Beam type)support modules were designed and fabricated to determine the load and shape. A adaptable support module was constructed and a static load test was carried out to select the type with better performance. As a result of the load test, the maximum value of the measured earth pressure difference is about 158 kPa and the settlement amount is about 0.032 mm in the two types of adaptable support modules. Based on these results, it is concluded that the performance of the adaptable support module of the bottom curved cross-beam type is better.

  • This paper presents a new dynamically adaptable polling scheme for efficient support of real-time traffic over an IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN network. The poll scheduling plays an important role in IEEE 802.11 PCF. However, the current version of the polling list management scheme proposed in the IEEE 802.11 standard is inefficient when a variable number of mobile stations have variable packets to transmit. If Point Coordinator has an exact information on the station status, it is possible to efficiently perform polling. In this paper, we suggest an adaptable polling scheme to meet requirements of the stations. In our scheme, each station transmits packets including a piggyback information to inform that it wants to receive a poll in the next polling duration. Simulation results indicate that our scheme may reduces the packet discard ratio and real-time packet transfer delay.

  • Wind-adaptable design (WAD) provides a new method for super-tall buildings to lessen design conflicts between architectural prerequisites and aerodynamic requirements, and to increase the efficiency of structural system. Compared to conventional wind-resistant design approach, the proposed new method is to design a building in two consecutive stages: a stage in normal winds and a stage during extreme winds. In majority of time, the required structural capacity is primarily for normal wind effects. During extreme wind storms, the building's capacity to wind loads is reinforced by on-demand operable flow control measures/devices to effectively reduce the loads. A general procedure for using WAD is provided, followed by an exploratory case study to demonstrate the application of WAD.

  • In this work, we report a highly deformable covalent adaptable-liquid crystal elastomer (CA-LCE) comprising dynamic thiourea bonds that enable macromolecular network rearrangement at elevated temperatures. The exchange of chain network is verified through stress-relaxation analyses and follows Arrhenius-type behavior. The unique capability of rearranging the chain network in the CA-LCE provides useful properties, such as welding, melt reprocessing, and shape reprogramming, that cannot be achieved by the conventional LCE comprising permanent crosslinks. Reversible actuation is further demonstrated by reprogramming the polydomain CA-LCE into a monodomain via mechanical stretching at elevated temperatures.

  • In this study, SCAR marker that differentiates Pleurotus eryngii strains adaptable to high-temperature from control strain was developed. Genomic DNAs of 7 control strains of Pleurotus eryngii and 7 Pleurotus eryngii strains adaptable to high-temperature were analyzed by bulked segregant analysis (BSA) using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). Onehundred twenty RAPD primers were screened on bulked DNA samples and a unique DNA fragment with the size of 385 bp was yielded by OP-A06 primer from the Pleurotus eryngii strains adaptable to high-temperature. A sequence characterized amplified region (SCAR) marker, designated as OP-A06-1-F and OP-A06-1-R, was designed on the basis of the determined sequence. The PCR analysis with the OP-A06-1 primer showed that this SCAR marker can clearly distinguish the Pleurotus eryngii strains adaptable to high-temperature from the control strains.
