와이어형 형상기억합금 구동기를 이용한 인체 손가락 모델에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Human Finger Model using Wire-type SMA Actuator)

  • This paper describes a human finger model driven by shape memory alloy(SMA) wires. The finger model has three joints that are similar to human finger. Each joint is actuated with two wires in the antagonistic manner and six wires are used to actuate three finger joint. In order to obtain the desirable finger motion, the diameters of the SMA wires are designed with different diameters by considering the required actuating force and response time. The rotary sensors are used to measure the angle positions of the joints and PWM control using PID algorithm is used to achieve desired angle positions of the finger joints. After estimating the control performance of each finger joint for the desired angle position, the antagonistic motion control of the finger model is experimentally evaluated.

  • Nowadays, many studies and researches in data storage have been carried out and storage capacity is increased. But the limitation of storage capacity is happened for several problems. One of them is spot & pit size in optical and magnetic data storage and another is the resolution of actuators. The problems in spot & pit size is covered by new data storage methods- for example, NFR{Near-Field Recoding) system. But the resolution limit of an actuator doesn't follow up the development of spot & pit size. Because of them, we should improve a resolution of an actuator. Especially, in this paper an actuator is studied and designed for NFR(in using SIL(Solid Immersion Lens) system. It is a dual stage actuator, which consists of a Fine actuator and a Coarse actuator, and should desire 100nm accuracy. But, our actuator system only includes tracking mechanism execpt focusing mechanism which is controlled by slider mechanism used in HDD. Its actuating force generation method is VCM(Voice Coil Motor). The Fine actuator is composed of 4-leaf springs and a bobbin wrapped by coil. The Coarse actuator has Coils and 3-Roller bearings.

  • Most of the work of construction equipment and agricultural machinery is done in off-road conditions. Autonomous driving required in these conditions uses GPS sensors, and PID controllers to control their speed and position. The hydrostatic steering, which is composed of a PSU, hydraulic hoses, and cylinders, rather than a mechanical coupling is used in these equipments. The PSU plays a key role in hydrostatic steering. Precise control of the position under various conditions requires detailed behavioral analysis of the basic components and operation. Two Gerotor PSU is now a commonly used safer option. The components of the PSU can be divided into mechanical and hydraulic actuating elements by its behavior. Since the system is combined by mechanical and hydraulic elements, the modelings are performed using Amesim, which is one of the most effective for the multi-domain dynamic system analysis. To confirm the validity of the model, input torque and pressures are checked with varying steering speed. The opening and the steering speed of normal and newly designed control valve set is investigated with the effect of centering spring force and friction. Finally, simulation results with fully detailed model with two gerotors are analyzed and compared with simple model.

QTW 무인항공기의 종축 비행동역학에 관한 연구 (A Study on Longitudinal Flight Dynamics of a QTW UAV)

  • 본 논문에서는 고정익항공기와 회전익 항공기의 장점을 결합시킨 신개념 복합형 무인항공기인 QTW(Quad Tilt Wing)의 종축 동특성을 연구한 결과를 기술하였다. 설계된 QTW 무인항공기는 Tandem Wing 형상을 가지며 각 주익의 끝단에는 프로펠러를 구동하는 모터를 장착하였다. 비행역학적 분석을 위해 모멘텀 이론을 이용해 추력을 계산하였으며, 틸트 각도에 따른 프로펠러의 Slip stream에 의한 양력과 항력을 고려한 비선형 모델링을 구축하였다. 또한 트림분석을 통해 설계된 비행체가 적절한 비행속도 대비 틸팅각을 가짐을 보여주었으며, 각 트림 점에서의 성분별 힘을 분석하였다. 각 비행 모드의 선형모델 고유치 분석하여 동적 특성을 분석하였으며 고정익모드로 전환됨에 따라 안정한 부분으로 극점이 이동함을 확인하였다.

  • Nowadays, the improvement and development of Multi-media and information & communication technology is rapidly processed. They need large data storage capacity. So that, many studies and researches in data storage have been carried out. According to them, the data storage capacity has been increased. 폴리실리콘 마이크로 액츄에이터의 열구동 특성분석 (Characterization of thermally driven polysilicon micro actuator)

  • A thermally driven polysilicon micro actuator has been fabricated using surface micromachining techniques. It consists of P-doped polysilicon as a structural layer and TEOS (tetracthylorthosilicate) as a sacrificial layer. The polysilicon was annealed for the relaxation of residual stress which is the main cause to its deformation such as bending and buckling. And the newly developed HF VPE (vapor phase etching) process was also used as an effective release method for the elimination of sacrificial TEOS layer. The thickneas of polysilicon is $2{\mu}m$ and the lengths of active and passive polysilicon cantilevers are $500{\mu}m$ and $260{\mu}m$, respectively. The actuation is incurred by die thermal expansion due to the current flow in the active polysilicon cantilever, which motion is amplified by lever mechanism. The moving distance of polysilicon micro actuator was experimentally conformed as large as $21{\mu}m$ at the input voltage level of 10V and 50Hz square wave. The actuating characteristics are investigated by simulating the phenomena of heat transfer and thermal expansion in the polysilicon layer. The displacement of actuator is analyzed to be proportional to the square of input voltage. These micro actuator technology can be utilized for the fabrication of MEMS (microelectromechanical system) such as micro relay, which requires large displacement or contact force but relatively slow response.

압전구동기를 이용한 정밀 가공용 초음파 진동장치 설계 (Design of Ultrasonic Vibration Device using PZT Actuator for Precision Laser Machining)

  • As the aged population grows around the world, many medical instruments and devices have been developed recently. Among the devices, a drug delivery stent is a medical device which requires precision machining. Conventional drug delivery stent has problems of residual polymer and decoating because the drug is coated on the surface of stent with the polymer. If the drug is impregnated in micro hole array on the surface of the stent, the problem can be solved. Micro sized holes are generally fabricated by laser machining; however, the fabricated holes do not have an enough aspect ratio to contain the drug or a good surface finish to deliver it to blood vessel tissue. To overcome these problems, we propose a vibration-assisted machining mechanism with PZT (Piezoelectric Transducers) for the fabrication of micro sized holes. If the mechanism vibrates the eyepiece of the laser machining head, the laser spot on the workpiece will vibrate vertically because objective lens in the eyepiece shakes by the mechanism's vibration. According to the former researches, the vibrating frequency over 20kHz and amplitude over 500nm are preferable. The vibration mechanism has cylindrical guide, hollowed PZT and supports. In the cylinder, the eyepiece is mounted. The cylindrical guide has upper and low plates and side wall. The shape of plates and side wall are designed to have high resonating frequency and large amplitude of motion. The PZT also is selected to have high actuating force and high speed of motion. The support has symmetrical and rigid characteristics.

  • 가동코일형 리니어 액추에이터는 다른 형식의 액추에이터에 비해 구조가 간단하고 제어가용이하여 다양한 산업 분야에 활용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 리니어 액추에이터의 가동 특성을 향상시키기 위해 가동자의 모든 동작점에서의 추력을 반영한 목적 함수를 구성하고 최적설계 문제를 정식화하였다. 명확한 형상표현을 위해 레벨셋 함수를 설계변수로 설정하여 최적설계를 진행하고 성능과 생산성을 동시에 만족하는 액추에이터를 설계하기 위해 페이즈 필드 모델의 개념을 최적설계에 적용하여 최종형상의 단순화를 고려하였다. 제안한 기법의 효용성을 확인하기 위해 액추에이터 진동과 소음의 원인인 추력의 변동폭을 최소화하기 위한 코어 설계를 수행하여 추력의 변동을 감소시킬 수 있는 최적 형상을 제시하였고 복잡도 계수에 의한 최종 형상의 단순화도 확인하였다.

직조 형태의 지능형 연성 복합재료를 이용한 쉘 구동기의 제작 (Fabrication of Shell Actuator using Woven Type Smart Soft Composite)

  • Smart material such as SMA (Shape Memory Alloy) has been studied in various ways because it can perform continuous, flexible, and complex actuation in simple structure. Smart soft composite (SSC) was developed to achieve large deformation of smart material. In this paper, a shell actuator using woven type SSC was developed to enhance stiffness of the structure while keeping its deformation capacity. The fabricated actuator consisted of a flexible polymer and woven structure which contains SMA wires and glass fibers. The actuator showed various actuation motions by controlling a pattern of applied electricity because the SMA wires are embedded in the structure as fibers. To verify the actuation ability, we measured its maximum end-edge bending angle, twisting angle, and actuating force, which were $103^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, and 0.15 N, respectively.

자동변속기 적용 유성기어의 헬릭스 각 방향에 의한 쓰러스트 베어링 작용 축 하중 연구 (A Study of Effects of the Helical Angle Directions of Planetary Gear Sets on the Axial Forces on Thrust Bearings in an Automatic Transmission)

  • An automatic transmission, which consists of several decks of planetary gear sets, provides multiple speed and torque ratios by actuating brakes and clutches (mechanical friction components) for connecting central members of the planetary gear sets. The gear set consists of the sun gear, the ring gear, and the carrier supporting multiple planet gears with pin shafts. In designing a new automatic transmission, there are many steps to design and analyze: gears, brakes and clutches, shafts, and other mechanical components. Among them, selecting thrust bearings that not only allow the relative rotation of the central members and other mechanical components but also support axial forces coming from them is important; doing so yields superior driving performance and better fuel efficiency. In selecting thrust bearings, the magnitude of axial forces on them is a critical factor that affects their bearing size and performance; its results are systematically related to the direction of the helical angle of each planetary gear set (a geometric design profile). This research presents the effects of the helical angle direction on the axial forces acting on thrust bearings in an automatic transmission consisting of planetary gear sets. A model transmission was built by analyzing kinematics and power flows and by designing planetary gear sets. The results of the axial forces on thrust bearings were analyzed for all combinations of helix angle directions of the planetary gear sets.
