  • Data synchronization between data stored in mobile communication terminals and a central server is one of essential tasks for efficient mobile communication environments. Since, however, manufacturers of mobile terminals have their proprietary data synchronization mechanisms, data interoperability can hardly be achieved. Therefore, SyncML data synchronization mechanism in mobile communication environments was proposed as an open standard by OMA(Open Mobile Alliance). In this paper, a SyncML-based data synchronization gateway is designed and implemented which can process ActiveSync data also. In other words, by constructing a combined data synchronization gateway which can transform ActiveSync data into SyncML data, data interoperability between mobile terminals which use two different data synchronization mechanisms can be achieved, In addition, mobile communication experiments between ActiveSync-based terminals and a SyncML-based central server show that the data synchronization gateway constructed in this paper, works correctly.

  • It is known that the distribution of the active earth pressure against a rigid wall is not triangular, but nonlinear, due to arching effects in the backfill. In the farmer paper, a new formulation was proposed for the nonlinear distribution of active earth pressure on a translating rigid retaining wall considering arching effects. In this paper, parametric study is performed to investigate the effect of ${\phi}, {\delta}$ and wall height on the magnitude and distribution of active earth pressure calculated from the proposed equations. In order to check the accuracy of the proposed formulation, the predictions from the equation are compared with both existing full-scale test results and values from existing equations. The comparisons between calculated and measured values show that the proposed equations satisfactorily predict both the earth pressure distribution and the lateral active earth force on the translating wall. Simplified design charts are also proposed for the modified active earth pressure coefficient and fur the height of application of the lateral active force in order to facilitate the use of the proposed equation.

  • In this paper, we propose the active rule system applying with emotional margin for power saving control. The proposed system in this paper is a part of the system which derives smart power saving by adjusting the illuminance using active rules within compromising the user's emotion. For this, we set the specific range of standard illuminance and the lower bound of user's emotional margin of illuminance based on measurements and analysis, and use these data in design of active rules. And then, we design and implement the active rule system using mobile agent. The mobile agent in the proposed system migrates to the destination sensor nodes, acquires and transmits sensor data according to the purpose and needs through the active rules, and directly executes the actions corresponding to the optional events(changed sensor data and/or time etc.). And then, we show the potential applicability of the proposed active rule system in various active sensor network applications through the interaction with the rule base and mobile sensor network middleware system.

  • Rail station premise's unused land speaks unused space long period among that is station porter underwear space. Also, will may see that two is also unused land if is operated as inefficient occupying a lot of spaces unnecessarily. These space have used by profit making business and station development putting first past. But, necessity of more active business effort is brought ill efficiency side of land. Unused land's efficient practical use is method that can increase railroad property. Therefore, in this study, define shortly about composition of reciprocal space, and presents unused land's practical use plan in station.

  • In this study, the in-situ parameter identification method for active magnetic bearing (AMB) actuator based on an open-loop balancing scheme is proposed. The scheme utilizes the relation between the compensating voltage and the known unbalance force. Main advantage of this method is that it is easy to use, yet it gives the actuator dynamics on the actual operating condition of an AMB system. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme compensates the known unbalance accurately and consequently identifies the actuator dynamics effectively.

  • A new integrated single-stage zero current switched(ZCS) quasi-resonant converter (QRC) for the power factor correction(PFC) converter is introduced in this paper. The power factor correction can be achieved by the discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) operation of an input current. The proposed converter has the characteristics of the good power factor, low line current harmonics, and tight output regulation. Furthermore, the ringing effect due to the output capacitance of the main switch can be eliminated by use of active clamp circuit.

  • This paper proposes a hierarchical approach to active shape model using wavelet transform. The proposed algorithm allows us to use both global shape characteristics and finer details for model deformation. The statistical properties of the wavelet transform of a deformable model are analyzed by principal component analysis and used as priors in the contour's deformation.

  • In this study, an efficient, yet easy to use, in-situ runout identification scheme by using extended influence coefficient method is presented for active magnetic bearing(AMB) systems. It is shown experimentally that the proposed scheme successfully identifies and eliminates the troublesome runout of the well balanced AMB system in the laboratory so that a high precision spindle system can be achieved, while it is in operation.

  • This study examines group process patterns when Instant Messaging is used for decision-making, and examines how these patterns are associated with creative solutions to problems. Our research suggests that certain communication behavior of a group, when appropriately organized, can enhance creative production of outcomes. A qualitative analysis is conducted on communication patterns based on text-based conversation protocols. Specifically, this research tries to extend existing studies on group-work by focusing on the interactive communication process among participants. Study results include that the production of creative outcome depends on the temporal sequence of discussion pattern among group members. (1) Appropriate control of the discussion process is essential to obtain a high level of performance. (2) It is also important to set up discussion rules and rules for the use of communication medium in the early stages of the discussion . (3) Active participants use various protocol types while less-active members rely mainly on 'cognitive' protocols.
