Convenient Thermal Modeling for Loss Distribution method of 3-Level Active NPC Inverter using Newton's Law of cooling (Active NPC 인버터의 손실 분배 제어를 위한 뉴턴의 냉각법칙 기반의 간단한 열 모델링 기법)

  • This paper proposes a convenient thermal modeling method for loss distribution control method of 3-level Active NPC(Neutral Point Clamped) inverter. In the drawback of conventional 3-level NPC, the generated losses can occur unbalance in each switching device, as a result, thermal utilization of designed system has been decreased. In order to compensate unbalanced losses, Active NPC inverter performed loss balancing control with thermal modeling during operation of each switching device. Therefore, this paper deals with a convenient thermal modeling method based on newton's law of cooling rather than conventional thermal modeling method. Both simulation and experimental results based on 10kW 3-level Active NPC inverter confirm the validity of the analysis performed in the study.

  • This paper presents a control method for grid-connected Active-NPC inverter systems. NPC (Neutral Point Clamped) is widely used in power conversion systems. NPC has a loss of switching elements and voltage imbalance. Active NPC has been proposed to overcome these drawbacks. ANPC changed the neutral diode to IGBT to reduce the switching loss. This paper modeled a grid-connected Acitve-NPC inverter systems and analyzed its performance. DSOGI PLL was used as a phase control method for precise control of grid link voltage. The proposed method is verified by PSIM simulation.

  • 본 논문은 active neutral-point clamped (A-NPC) 컨버터를 이용한 이차 전지 충방전 시스템 설계 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 계통 전압의 정류를 위한 필터와 3-레벨 NPC 컨버터, 이차 전지 충방전을 위한 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터로 구성된다. 그러나 기존의 NPC 컨버터는 IGBT의 스위칭 손실이 특정 소자에 집중되어 스위칭 주파수를 높이는데 한계를 갖는 다. 본 논문은 손실 불균형 문제를 해결하기 위해 기존의 NPC 컨버터 대신 A-NPC 컨버터를 적용하며 이를 위한 변조 방법을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 변조 방법에 따른 IGBT의 손실 및 온도 분포에 대한 분석 결과를 제시하며 제안하는 이차 전지 충방전 시스템의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 NPC (Neutral-Point-Clamped) 인버터와 ANPC (Active Neutral-Point-Clamped) 인버터의 특성과 성능을 비교 분석한다. ANPC 인버터는 기존의 NPC 인버터와 비교하여 스위칭 부하를 분산시켜 발열의 불균형을 해소하고 소자 수명을 증가시킨다. 기존의 NPC 인버터 시스템과 ANPC 인버터에 대하여 이론적인 특징과 성능을 분석하고 모델링과 시뮬레이션을 통하여 비교 분석한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to show typology of Non Player Character(NPCs) and to look out what narrative functions of NPCs are served in Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Game(MMORPG). As the relationship with player characters and the propensity of actions, NPCs are classified 4types; passive helper, active helper, passive antagonist, active antagonist. Each type performs different functions of game narrative. Especially passive helper functions as a essential glue of movement in game world and makes the chain of quest narratives. Active antagonist functions as the cause of space perspective and creates dramatic effect of game narrative. Those functions make spacial, dimensional and extensible game narrative.

A New Direct Power Control Strategy for NPC Three-Level Voltage Source Rectifiers Using a Novel Vector Influence Table Method

  • This paper proposes a novel direct power control (DPC) strategy for neutral-point-clamped (NPC) three-level rectifiers, to directly control the active power, the reactive power and the neutral point potential of the rectifiers by referring to three pre-calculated vector influence tables and minimizing an objective function. In the three vector influence tables, the influences of different voltage vectors on the active power, the reactive power and the neutral-point potential are shown explicitly. A conceptual description and control algorithm of the proposed controller are presented in this paper. Then, numerical simulations and experiments are carried out to validate the proposed method. Both the simulation and experimental results show that good performances during both the steady-state and transient operating conditions are achieved. As a result, the proposed strategy has been proven to be effective for NPC three-level rectifiers.

  • 본 논문에서는 저압 직류 배전 시스템에 사용되는 3-레벨 NPC DAB 컨버터의 중성점 전압 제어를 위한 향상된 스위칭 알고리즘을 제안한다. 3-레벨 NPC DAB 컨버터는 구조상 정격전압 감소를 위해 중성점을 기준으로 DC-link 단에 두 개의 캐패시터가 사용되기 때문에 중성점으로 들어오는 전류에 불균형이 발생하며 중성점 전압이 흔들리는 문제점이 나타난다. 중성점 전압이 흔들릴 경우 불균형한 전압이 변압기에 형성되며 이로 인해 전류 Offset과 실효 전류의 증가에 따른 전력 손실증가 등 전체적인 컨버터의 동작에 악영향을 준다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 3-레벨 NPC DAB 컨버터의 동작원리 및 기존 스위칭 패턴을 분석하고, 향상된 스위칭 패턴을 적용시켜 중성점 전압을 제어하는 알고리즘의 타당성을 모의시험을 통해 검증하고자 한다.

  • This study proposes a new pulse-width modulation switching pattern for the low conduction loss of a three-level neutral point clamped (NPC)-based dual-active bridge (DAB) converter. The operational principle for a bidirectional power conversion is a phase-shift modulation. The conventional switching method of the three-level NPC-based DAB converter shows a symmetric switching pattern. This method has a disadvantage of high root-mean-square (RMS) value of the coupling inductor current, which leads to high conduction loss. The proposed switching method shows an asymmetrical pattern, which can reduce the RMS value of the inductor current with lower conduction loss than that of the conventional method. The performance of the proposed asymmetrical switching method is theoretically analyzed and practically verified using simulation and experiment.

  • In this paper, a new active circuit for common-mode voltage (CMV) cancellation in three-level NPC (neutral-point clamped) inverters is proposed, which can avoid the saturation of the common-mode transformer (CMT). The proposed circuit utilizes an additional three-level leg to produce the compensating CMV of the NPC inverters, which eliminates the CMV of the inverter through the CMT.

  • Multi-level Dual Active Bridge (ML-DAB) 컨버터는 높은 스위칭 패턴 자유도를 가져 인덕터 전류의 첨두치와 RMS를 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서 3-레벨 NPC DAB 컨버터의 동작원리를 분석하고, 비대칭적인 스위칭 패턴을 적용시켜 인덕터 전류의 첨두치를 수학적으로 분석하여 컨버터의 전력변환 효율을 높일 수 있는 동작점 설계 방법을 제안한다. 여러 동작점에 따른 전류 RMS 값을 비교하여 제안하는 동작점 설계 방법의 타당성을 검증하고자한다.
