Effects of HA/TiN Coating on the Electrochemical Characteristics of Ti-Ta-Zr Alloys (Ti-Ta-Zr합금의 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 HA/TiN 코팅의 영향)

  • Electrochemical characteristics of Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys coated with HA/TiN by using magnetron sputtering method were studied. The Ti-30Ta containing Zr(3, 7, 10 and 15wt%) were 10 times melted to improve chemical homogeneity by using a vacuum furnace and then homogenized for 24hrs at $1000^{\circ}C$. The specimens were cut and polished for corrosion test and coating, and then coated with HA/TiN, respectively, by using DC and RF-magnetron sputtering method. The analyses of coated surface and coated layer were carried out by using optical microscope(OM), field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM) and X-ray diffractometer(XRD). The electrochemical characteristics were examined using potentiodynamic (-1,500 mV~ + 2,000 mV) and A.C. impedance spectroscopy(100 kHz ~ 10 mHz) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The microstructure of homogenized Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys showed needle-like structure. In case of homogenized Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys, a-peak was increased with increasing Zr content. The thickness of TiN and HA coated layer showed 400 nm and 100 nm, respectively. The corrosion resistance of HA/TiN-coated Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys were higher than that of the non-coated Ti-30TaxZr alloys, whic hindicate better protective effect. The polarization resistance($R_p$) value of HA/TiN coated Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys showed $8.40{\times}10^5{\Omega}cm^2$ which was higher than that of non-coated Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys.

Activation Plan of the Post-Construction Sales through a Perception Survey of Seoul Citizens and Experts

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest the activation plan of the post-construction sales through the results of a survey on the perception of Seoul citizens and experts. Research design, data and methodology: The purpose of this study is to suggest the activation plan of the post-construction sales through the results of a survey on the perception of Seoul citizens and experts. Results: According to a survey of Seoul citizens' perceptions, 76.7% of Seoul citizens were well aware of post-construction sales and recognized that post-construction sales would reduce pre-sale speculation and confusion in the real estate market. Second, 73.6% of Seoul citizens were willing to buy houses through post-construction sales, and third, 79.6% of Seoul citizens recognized that a post-sale system was necessary. Experts' opinions generally responded to the expansion of the introduction of post-construction sales, saying, 'It is necessary for both the public and the private sectors'. Second, while experts say that there are also positive effects, negative effects such as polarization centered on large corporations, an increase in sales prices, and a decrease in housing supply are also concerned. Third, experts responded that 'diversification of financing methods' is the most important task in revitalizing the post-sale system. Conclusions: The policy implications are that it is necessary to mandate the post-construction sales in the long term, and that the quality assurance system needs to be supplemented even if the sale is promoted post-construction sales. In addition, private participation is essential to revitalize the post-construction sales, and government support such as initial financing, low-interest rates, and various financing measures should be sought to expand private participation.

A.C. Impedance Properties of HA/Ti Compound Layer coated Ti-30Ta-(3~15)Nb Alloys (Ti-30Ta-(3~15)Nb 합금에 HA/Ti 복합 코팅한 표면의 교류임피던스 특성)

  • A.C. impedance properties of HA/Ti compound layer coated Ti-30Ta-($3{\sim}15$)Nb alloys have been studied by electrochemical method. Ti-30Ta binary alloys contained 3, 7, 10 and 15 wt% Nb were manufactured by the vacuum furnace system. And then specimen was homogenized at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 24 hrs. The sample was cut and polished for corrosion test and coating. It was coated with HA/Ti compound layer by magnetron sputter. The non-coated and coated morphology of Ti alloy were analyzed by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), energy X-ray dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) and filed emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The corrosion behaviors were investigated using A.C. impedance test (PARSTAT 2273, USA) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. Ti-30Ta-($3{\sim}15\;wt%$)Nb alloys showed the ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ phase, and $\beta$ phase peak was predominantly appeared in the case of increasingly Nb contents. The microstructures of Ti alloy were transformed from needle-like structure to equiaxed structure as Nb content increased. From the analysis of coating surface, HA/Ti composite surface uniformed coating layer with 750 nm thickness. The growth directions of film were (211), (112), (300) and (202) for HA/Ti composite coating on the surface after heat treatment at $550^{\circ}C$, whereas, the growth direction of film was (110) for Ti coating. The polarization resistance ($R_p$) of HA/Ti composite coated Ti-alloys were higher than those of the Ti and HA coated samples in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. Especially, corrosion resistance of Ti-Ta-Nb system increased as Nb content increased.

  • The decrease of polarization resistance in cathode is the key point for intermediate temperature SOFC(Solid Oxide Fuel Cell). In this study, the Influence of Co substitution in B-site at perovskite PSCM (Pr0.3Sr0.7CoxMn(1-x)) was investigated. The PSCM series exhibits excellent MIEC(Mixed ionic Electronic Conductor) properties. The ASR(Area Specific Resistance) of PSCM3773 was $0.174{\Omega}cm^2\;at\;700^{\circ}C$. The activation energy of PSCM3773 was also lower than other compositions of PSCM. The ASR values were increased gradually during the thermal cycling test of PSCM37773 due to the delamination between electrolyte and cathode materials.

  • Dielectric properties of low viscous silicone oils have been investigated as a function of frequency and The increase of polymerization degree was attributed to presence of Si-O-Si bonds and their increased dissociation factor. The application of the Clausius-Mosotti equation on the low viscous silicone oils, it has been previously assumed that the oils were dilute solutions of polar molecules. In the silicone oil the Si-o and O-Si bonds give dipole polarization. Simple relations have been found which dipole moment and activation energy as a function of number of Si atoms in the low viscous silicone oils.

  • In order to investigate ion release and biocompatibility of Ti-6Al-4V dental alloy by electrochemical corrosion test and MTT assay, commercial Ti-6Al-4V alloy rod (99.99% Ti, USA, Co) were used in the study. The microstructure of the alloys was examined by optical microscopy (OM), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), MTT assay, and corrosion test. From the polarization curves, very low current densities were obtained for Ti-6Al-4V alloys, indicating a formation of stable passive layer.

  • We investigated electric and dielectric properties of MIM device using Maleate Copolymer LB films. The thickness of maleate copolymer LB film by ellipsometry measurements and X-ray diffraction pattern was about 27~30[ ]. The maleate copolymer 13 film have the property of insulator like organic ultra-thin film. The electric conduction was Schottky current measured by I-V characteristics, and the conductivity was 10$^{-15}$ ~10$^{-14}$ [S/cm]. Dielectric constant was about 5.0~6.0 by various measurement: I-V, frequency-depenent dielectric properties. Schottky barrier was about 0.9 ~1.0(eV). By relation between log I and 1/T, activation energy baa 0.74(eV). Frequency-depenent dielectric properties wart orientational polarization by the dipole.

  • Corrosion inhibition of 304 stainless steel (SS) in 1 M HCl by aqueous extract of coriander seeds was studied using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and electrochemical frequency modulation (EFM) techniques. Values of inhibition efficiency obtained are dependent upon the concentration of extract and temperature. Generally, inhibition was found to increase with inhibitor concentration, but decrease with temperature. Physical adsorption mechanism has been proposed for the inhibition with Langmuir adsorption isotherm obeyed. Values of activation energy of the inhibited corrosion reaction of 304 SS are greater than the value obtained for the blank. Thermodynamic consideration reveals that adsorption of aqueous extract of coriander seeds 304 SS surface is spontaneous.

Extract of Camellia sinensis as Green Inhibitor for the Corrosion of Mild Steel in Aqueous Solution

  • Corrosion inhibition of mild steel used in water station in 35 ppm aluminum sulfate and 10 ppm chloride solution by Camellia sinensis leaves extract was studied using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques at $30^{\circ}C$. Results show that the inhibition efficiency increases with increasing concentration of the extract and decreases with increasing temperature. Inhibitive effect was afforded by adsorption of the extract's components which was found to accord with Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Inhibition mechanism is deduced from the temperature dependence of the inhibition efficiency and was further corroborated by the values of activation parameters obtained from the experimental data.

  • When relaxation time will be distributed, TSC observed in the experimental procedure was analysed by using a potential model having two equilibrium positions and equations of dielectric properties was derived. Calculation of distribution was made by matrix method and compared/confirmed values obtained by TSC and alternating current which have a correspondence with each other. In this measurement, distribution of activation energy and relaxation time was determined by TSC peak at around 147k/364 of which center is 10$\^$-4/ sec/10$\^$5/ sec respectively at room temperature and also obtained dielctric loss factor at the range of 10$\^$-7/-10$\^$5/Hz. It seems that low temperature peak is local dispersion and high temperature peak have a relation to dielectric transition of the material.
