Forty seven amylolytic Bifidobacterium strains were isolated on starch-containing agar medium from the faecal samples of the various age groups of Korean. From these amyloytic Bifidobacterium spp., two strains of KFRI 1535, identified temporarily as Bifidobacterium longum, and KFRI 1550, identified as Bifidobacterium breve, showed great macrophage-stimulating activity for the production of tumor necrosis factor-$\alpha$ and inteleukin-6. As the cell concentration increased the cytokine production increased, although in some strains the cytokine levels started to decline over cell concentration increased the cytokine production increased, although in some strains the cytokine levels started to decline over cell concentration of $250\mu\textrm{g}$/ml. the strains which showed high cytokine-stimulating activity generally showed greater production of nitric oxide even though differences were less between strains. Selected Bifidobacterium strains were compared for their fermentation capability in saccharified rice solution and in apple pomace mixture.

The stability of ftorafur in artificial gastric juice and its major decomposition product were studied quantitatively by the combination of TLC technique and UV-recording spectrophotometry. The decomposition proceeded in first-order reaction. The decomposition rate was accelerated by the increase of temperature. The major decomposition products were identified as 5-fluorouracil. The apparent activation energy for the decomposition was found to he approximately 24.3kcal/mole from Arrhenius plot.

Neuroprotective properties of lithium were evaluated by using in vivo NMDA excitotoxicity model. Systemic injection of NMDA to young mice induced neuronal apoptosis mediated by both TNFR-l and Fas ligand, and long-term lithium treatment showed noticeable neuroprotection against NMDA-induced excitotoxicity: NMDA-damaged neurons expressed several apoptosis-related gene products such as TNFR-l, Fas ligand, and caspase-3, and these gene expressions were not found in the brain of mice chronically treated with lithium. Therefore, it is highly likely that the protection offered by chronic lithium treatment occurred at far upstream of caspase activation, since the chronic lithium treatment increased the expression of Bcl-2, an important antiapoptotic gene known to act upstream of caspase cascade. Timm's histochemistry indicated the complete blockade of the NMDA insults by the treatment. There was no indication of axonal regeneration, which follows synaptic degeneration induced by neuronal damage. Furthermore, this study reports for the first time that TNFR-l and Fas ligand are involved in neuroprotective effects of lithium in NMDA-induced neuronal apoptosis.

The economic growth that depended on IT industry is reaching to a limit. In order to overcome the limit, the convergence industry that makes new market and products is essential. However, companies preparing a jump into the convergence industry must understand the exact visions and characteristics of convergence. Therefore, we investigated the structural changes of industries caused by convergence and importance characteristics of convergence. Also, we demonstrated the current status of the convergence industry and analyzed economical, social/cultural, and technological environments that the companies are facing, and elaborated the opportunities of convergence. At last, we suggested basic requirements and strategies for companies starting a convergence business and IT utilization methods to accelerate the convergence business activation.

사회구조의 발전과 산업의 가속화는 중앙지역과 지역경제의 경계를 더욱 분명하게 만들고 있다. 인구 밀도와 경제규모의 차이가 이를 대변하고 있다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대한민국의 중규모 도시에서 마케팅 활성화를 위한 방안으로 여성을 타겟으로 패션 스타킹과 레깅스 등 여성용 제품에 대한 마케팅 전략을 위한 서비스 개발에 관하여 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 통해 지역 경제를 구성하고 있는 주민의 절반인 여성고객을 대상으로 마케팅 활성화를 통한 지역 경제 활성화에 이바지 할 것으로 기대된다.

알칼리 활성 반응에 의한 고로 슬래그와 플라이 애시의 반응생성물에 대하여 강도실험 및 방사광 X선 회절 연구가 실시되었다. 본 연구는 지금까지 제올라이트 계열로 추정되어 왔던 지오폴리머의 실제 결정 구조가 무경절질형태의 ABC-6 family 제올라이트에 속해 있음을 제안한다.

우리나라는 매년 자연재해로 인한 피해를 받고 있으며, 재해저감을 위한 다양한 노력들이 이루어지고 있다. 한편, 공간정보를 수집하여 이를 재해저감을 위한 방법으로 활용하고 있는 요즈음에, 통신해양기상위성의 운용에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 또한 국가기상위성센터의 건립 등으로 기상산출물 이용의 활성화 방안이 요구되고 있다. 이에 공간정보를 포한한 다양한 분야에서의 기상산출물의 이용 활성화 방안에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 기상산출물 이용의 활성화를 위하여 기존에 기상정보를 이용 현황에 대해 조사하였으며, 이를 기상분야에 국한되지 않고 공간정보를 포함한 다양한 분야에서 활용하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

It is reported that we are facing the serious environment pollution difficulties such as acid rain, green house effects, etc. The gaseous matter CO, NOx, SOx, VOCs which are regarded as main factors for these current pollutions are mainly emitted from power plants and vehicles. Therefore several leading countries are regulating the related laws strictly, especially exhaust emissions from a Diesel engine without an after treatment device. The Objective of this study is to find out NOx removal characteristics focused on emissions of a Diesel engine using radical at each engine speed and load. It is generated from outer air and put into a mixing chamber in the end of exhaust line. In addition, the optimum temperature condition to activate reaction by radical is experimentally carried out. Concentration of exhaust emissions is analyzed from the gas anlayzer(KaneMay) and FTIR to estimate by-products.

Green tourism is a stay-flow activity between people in urban and rural area, using a natural view, tradition, and life in agricultural area. And green tourism provides rest, recreation, and new experience fur people living in urban area as well as opportunities to increase income for people in rural area. In recently, amenity is rapidly rising as a main factor fur a regional competitiveness. Boseong county shows a typical agriculture industrial structure with a weak independent base, but has a beautiful tea fields in full seasons. Boseong county is making an effort to activate the regional economy, but the result fall short of one's expectation. Several methods to activate the green tourism of Boseong county are as follows: i) introduction of specialized theme relating Boseong green tea; ii) provision of information regarding tourist resort and development of experience-program related to green tea business; iii) establishment of a sales network of products through accommodations in private houses; iv) establishment of networks among regions to achieve systematic sales of tourist experience, accommodations in private houses, and local speciality simultaneously.

The mammalian immune system comprises a complex array of cells and molecules that interact to provide protection from pathogenic microorganisms. The beneficial role played by lactic acid bacteria and milk-derived peptides in humans, including their effect on the immune system, has been extensively reported. Lactic acid bacteria and milk-derived peptides, which are present in dairy products, are frequently used as nutraceuticals to improve some biological functions in the host. Activation of the systemic and secretory immune response by lactic acid bacteria and milk-derived peptides requires many complex interactions among the various constituents of the intestinal ecosystem. Thus, the aim of this review was to examine in detail the immunological potential of lactic acid bacteria and milk-derived peptides.
