Consideration for the characteristics of OPANSORI and Beranek's music & acoustic theory. 2. To take advice from the expert. 3. The experiment and evaluation of a model. 4. The structure of PANSORI hall and the study of the availability in Beranek's rating scale of orchestra and opera. 5. The establishment of the rating scale in PANSORI hall. 6. The evaluation of the forms of performance in each hall. The result of this study, the proper hall in the performance of PANSORI is, 1. The initial time delay gap less than 25ms. 2. The reverberation time of the extents of 1.2 seconds. 3. The proper average bass ratio of 1.25 extents. 4. The distance from performers to audience is within 30 meters. 5. THE VOLUME OF HALL IS 450-7400 ㎥ extents. 6. It should be designed not to be a acoustical disturbancenoise, echo, and the unbalance of sound pressure level, etc.

  • The calculation of Zwicker's loudness which is needed for multiple frequency response with a fine frequency resolution using the finite element (FE) procedure usually requires significant computation time since a numerical solution must be obtained for each considered frequency. Furthermore, if the analysis is the basis for an iterative optimization procedure this approach imposes high computational cost. In this work, we present an efficient approach for obtaining Zwicker's loudness via the Pad$\acute{e}$ approximants and applying in an acoustical topology optimization procedure. The paper is focused on an efficient and accurate calculation of Zwicker's loudness, design sensitivity analysis, and the acoustical topology optimization method by using Pad$\acute{e}$ approximants. The paper compares the efficient algorithm to results obtained by a standard FEM. Comparison are made both in terms of accuracy and in terms of CPU-times needed for the calculation.

  • Idle shake vibration characteristics of a vehicle are mainly influenced not only by the stiffnesses of the beam type structures such as pillars and rockers, but also by the stiffnesses of the joint structures, at which several beam structures are jointed together. In the early design stage of the car body structure a simple FE model has been used, in which joints are modeled as linear springs to represent the stiffnesses of the joint structures. In this paper a new modeling technique for the joint structure is presented using an equivalent beam, instead of using a spring. The modeling technique proposed is utilized to design optimal joint structures that meet the required vibration performance of the total vehicle structure.

  • This paper proposes a new design algorithm to optimize the withdrawal weighted SAW ladder devices, Withdrawal weighting on SAW resonators gives enhanced bandwidth and transition band characteristics, so an optimization algorithm was developed for ladder type SAW filters. To illustrate the validity of the technique, this method was applied to the design of RF band CDMA TX SAW filters, and the design results were confirmed to show good agreement with experimental performance.

  • This paper describes design and fabrication of a new bi-directional ultrasonic linear motor working by means of a traveling wave. With the finite element method, we design and verify validity of the new structure, and determine its optimal structure, material, size, and boundary conditions for proper generation of the traveling wave. Based on the results, a prototype of the motor has been fabricated and characterized, which thereby proves practical applicability of the new structure.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear optimal design technique is presented to find an optimal beam pattern. With this technique, the beam width is minimized with respect to a given maximum allowable side-lobe level considering the self- and mutual radiation impedances of vibrators. The proposed method is applied to design a planar array consisting 37 vibrators which are symmetric in X, Y and $45^{circ}$ axes. The results show that significantly low side-lobe level maintaining a main beam width can be obtained using this method.

  • Recently the acoustic design has been considered the important part of architectural design. However, in the design of Catholic churches the exterior beauty is still main point. This study aims to find out the acoustical characteristics in the main hall of Catholic churches. Six catholic churches were selected for this experiment and the physical parameters which represent the acoustic characteristics of room were compared by the plan type and the architectural factor. The physical parameters compared and analyzed were SD(Stand deviation) of SPL(sound pressure level), RT(reverberation time), $D_{50}$(definition), $C_{80}$(clarity) and STI(speech transmission index).

  • Design of SAW ladder filters has been performed by a rather trial and error method, that is, by modifying the design variables step by step until designed performance of the filter satisfies given specifications. In this work, optimal design method has been developed that automatically determines the detailed pattern of the SAW ladder filter to meet the specification once desired performance is given. As a first step for the development, the analysis tool for the SAW ladder filter has been produced by means of the Smith equivalent circuit analysis technique, and its validity has been verified through comparison of its calculation result with experimental data. With the analysis tool, we have investigated the performance variation of the filter with the change of its design factors, and the result has led to the optimal design algorithm. Validity and efficiency of the algorithm has been checked through test design of several SAW ladder filter samples on the market.
