공간구조론을 적용한 종합병원 외래부 유도사인 배치 및 평가에 관한 연구 - G.D.Weisman의 길찾기 요소를 중심으로 (A Study on the Guidance Signage System of Outpatient in General Hospital using Spatial Configuration Theory - View from G.D.Weisman's Way-finding Influence Factors)

  • Purpose: Signs that are installed at unnoticeable places or that disconnect before the destination can bring errors of location information delivery. Therefore, this study aims to find out the spatial relation between structure of space and signs in the perspective of visual exposure possibility, operating arrangement and assesment by applying spatial structure theory. Methods: Effectiveness of organization of guidance signs was evaluated after the four way-finding factors(Plan Configuration, Sign System, Perceptual Access, Architectural Difference) that G.D.Weisman suggested were interpreted by spatial structure theory(J-Graph analysis, Space Syntax, Visual Graph Analysis) under the premise that it is closely related to the structure of space. Results: 1) Because the south corridor that connects each department of outpatient division is located in the hierarchy center of the space, and walking density is expected to be high, guidance signs need to be organized at the place with high integration value. 2) The depth to the destination space can be estimated through J-Graph analysis. The depth means a switch of direction, and the guidance signs are needed according to the number. 3) According to visibility graph analysis, visual exposure can be different in the same hierarchy unit space according to the shape of the flat surface. Based on these data, location adjustment of signs is possible, and the improvement effect can be estimated quantitatively. Implications: Spatial structure theory can be utilized to design and evaluate sign systems, and it helps to clearly understand the improvement effect. It is desirable to specify design and estimation of sign systems in the order of J-Graph analysis${\rightarrow}$Space Syntax Theory${\rightarrow}$visibility graph analysis.

공간특성 및 이용행태 분석을 통한 노인전문요양시설 프로그램실 계획에 관한 연구 (A Study of Act Room Planning in Skilled Nursing Facilities for the Elderly through the Analysis of Spatial Characteristics and Using Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate spatial characteristics and using behavior of activity room in skilled nursing facilities for the elderly and to provide basic guidelines about its space planning. The activity rooms in the most of the research facilities were arranged by usage modification of unnecessary spaces after the foundation of the facility, and were used not only for the program service but for the staff lounge. It decreased space speciality and resulted in limited area of the space and crowded furniture arrangement. The design guidelines for activity room were as follows. First, the space plan of activity room is based on the use of once to twice per week and for 30 minutes per use, and is mainly for the human knowledge and art programs that are appropriate for small group. Second, the activity room of the facility with less than 3 stories needs to be in the same floor as elderly individual room, but should be independent and easy to be controlled by the staff. On the other hand, in more than 4 stories facility, it is better to be in the different floor as the elderly living area such as administrational area close to the lounge and garden. Third, at least $5.9m^{2}$ per user for the area of the activity room is recommended including the elderly, staff, furniture, equipments and restroom. Fourth, the furniture of activity room includes the shelves, big table with enough knee space, wheel, and stopper, and stackable chairs. Toilets and water closet are needed for the emergency, and the windows to the corridor and curtain door should be avoided for soundproof and easy access of wheelchair users.

안전한 노인요양시설 환경을 위한 실내 바닥마감재에 관한 연구 (A Study on Interior Flooring Materials for Safe Elderly Nursing Home Environment)

  • The number of elderly who wants to access to Nursing Homes (NH) will increase due to the rapid aging society and domestic changes. Those who move into NH expect 24/7 care service in safe environment. Providing space free from danger, especially from fall, for the frail elderly is essential. The purpose of this study is to categorize performance needs of flooring materials in the aspect of safety, and analyze materials so that adequate ones for each space in NH can be suggested. Performance needs are as follows; slip resistance (dry/wet), fire resistance, resilience, water resistance, soil retardant, anti-bacterial, gloss, sound absorbtion. maintenance, durability, ease replacement, color and pattern variety, visual and tactual texture, tactile warmth, IAQ, sustainable material (before use), impact to nature (after use). They are categorized under function, economy, sensibility and sustainability. It was found that there are better materials than common ones that has been used repeatedly in NHs, such as vinyl sheets and VCT. In overall, Cork flooring and nylon carpet met all four categories, followed by wool carpet, rubber and linoleum. For bedroom, wood flooring, Cork, rubber, wool carpet, nylon carpets were suggested. In bathroom with shower, rubber, vinyl sheet and porcelain tiles were safe materials. As living/dining room and corridor floors, wool carpet, nylon carpet, cork flooring would be excellent as they are resilient and durable. The result of this paper can be used by both NH managers and material companies, resulting better quality of life of the elderly by providing safe environment.

Mobile Robot Localization in Geometrically Similar Environment Combining Wi-Fi with Laser SLAM

  • Localization is a hot research spot for many areas, especially in the mobile robot field. Due to the weak signal of the global positioning system (GPS), the alternative schemes in an indoor environment include wireless signal transmitting and receiving solutions, laser rangefinder to build a map followed by a re-localization stage and visual positioning methods, etc. Among all wireless signal positioning techniques, Wi-Fi is the most common one. Wi-Fi access points are installed in most indoor areas of human activities, and smart devices equipped with Wi-Fi modules can be seen everywhere. However, the localization of a mobile robot using a Wi-Fi scheme usually lacks orientation information. Besides, the distance error is large because of indoor signal interference. Another research direction that mainly refers to laser sensors is to actively detect the environment and achieve positioning. An occupancy grid map is built by using the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) method when the mobile robot enters the indoor environment for the first time. When the robot enters the environment again, it can localize itself according to the known map. Nevertheless, this scheme only works effectively based on the prerequisite that those areas have salient geometrical features. If the areas have similar scanning structures, such as a long corridor or similar rooms, the traditional methods always fail. To address the weakness of the above two methods, this work proposes a coarse-to-fine paradigm and an improved localization algorithm that utilizes Wi-Fi to assist the robot localization in a geometrically similar environment. Firstly, a grid map is built by using laser SLAM. Secondly, a fingerprint database is built in the offline phase. Then, the RSSI values are achieved in the localization stage to get a coarse localization. Finally, an improved particle filter method based on the Wi-Fi signal values is proposed to realize a fine localization. Experimental results show that our approach is effective and robust for both global localization and the kidnapped robot problem. The localization success rate reaches 97.33%, while the traditional method always fails.

고속철도 개통으로 인한 항공수요 변화에 대한 추정 (Estimating the Impact on Aviation Demand by High Speed Railroad Service in Korea)

  • 최근 들어, 우리나라 국내선 항공수요가 급격하게 감소하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 특히, 국내선 항공수요의 양대축인 경부와 호남축의 항공수요가 34~75%까지 감소하는 결과를 초래하였다. 이와 같은 국내선 항공수요의 급격한 감소는 지역간 고속 및 간선도로의 지속적인 확충과 경제침체 등에 따른 요인으로 분석된다. 더욱이 2004년 4월 이후, 고속철도의 제1단계 개통으로 인해 고속철도 서비스와 중첩되는 항공노선에서의 수요 감소 폭은 매우 크게 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 고속철도 개통이전에 실시했던 항공수요 감소 폭에 대한 사전적 분석과 고속철도가 개통된 이후 실제로 나타난 항공수요의 감소 폭을 비교해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울-대구 간 노선을 선정하였으며, 항공여객을 대상으로 향후 고속철도가 개통되면 어느 교통수단을 이용할 지를 SP조사를 통해 사전적으로 분석한 뒤, 고속철도 개통이후 나타난 실제 항공수요의 변화를 상호 비교함으로써 이용자 선호의 실현성을 검증코자 하였다. 선호도 조사를 위해 접근시간(access/egress time), 요금, 운항(행)횟수 등을 변수로 선정하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과, SP조사에서 나타난 항공선호도는 14%에 불과했지만 고속철도가 운행 된지 2개월 되는 시점에서는 항공수요의 실현율은 28%로써 사전적인 선호도보다 조금 높게 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과가 초래된 이유는 고속철도의 운영초기에 나타나는 서비스 안정화 문제에 기인한다고 할 수 있겠다.

전시시설의 정당한 편의 제공 실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Current Status Analysis of Reasonable Accommodations at Exhibition Facilities)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 전시시설에서의 정당한 편의제공 현황을 파악하여 이에 대한 문제점을 도출하고 분석함으로써 편의제공을 개선할 수 있는 방안을 제시하는 데에 목적이 있다. 전시시설의 정당한 편의제공 현황분석을 위해 23개 전시시설을 대상으로 물리적 정당한 편의제공 범위에 포함되는 편의시설에 대한 현황과 더불어 서비스 측면의 비물리적 정당한 편의제공 현황을 실태조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시설물 영역 중 외부의 접근과 관련하여 관람자가 안전하고 편리하게 대지 내의 접근로를 이동하여 전시시설까지 이동할 수 있도록 보행안전통로를 확보한다. 둘째, 전시시설 내부에서의 안전한 관람이 가능하도록 바닥면을 미끄럽지 않도록 처리하고, 시각장애인이 이동할 때에 위험요소인 장애물을 제거한다. 셋째, 승강기 내부 조작반과 장애인용화장실 설치시 휠체어사용자와 시각장애인의 이용시설이 같지 않다는 점을 고려하여야 한다. 넷째, 장애인의 안내를 위한 촉지도, 점자안내판, 시설물 축소모형 등을 설치하고 시설 편의이용정보가 기재된 안내서를 구비한다. 다섯째, 시 청각 장애인이 다양한 감각을 이용하여 전시물을 체험할 수 있도록 서비스 영역 측면의 다양한 편의가 제공되어야 할 것이다.
