표준화 환자를 적용한 시뮬레이션 수업이 간호대학생의 의사소통능력, 문제해결능력, 비판적 사고성향 및 임상수행능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Simulation Practicum using a Standardized Patient on Nursing Students' Communication Skills, Problem-Solving Skills, Critical Thinking Dispositions, and Clinical Competency)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of standardized patient simulation on nursing students' communication skills, problem-solving skills, critical thinking dispositions, and clinical competency. Methods: A one-group pretest-posttest design was used. Data were collected from a convenient sample of 47 junior nursing students at W University. Scenarios to train SP and checklists to evaluate the students''competence were developed by our research team. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive analysis t-test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ using SPSS WIN 21.0 Program. Results: The simulation practicum using a standardized patient was conducted based on four steps, namely, selections of scenario modules, standard patient training, implementation, and evaluation. The differences between the pre and post-test scores of problem-solving skills(t=-2.94, p=.005) and clinical competency(t=-2.84, p=.007) were statistically significant. But communication skill(t=-.32, p=.747) and critical thinking(t=-.68, p=.498) was not different in group. Conclusion: Standardized patient simulation in nursing education may be useful the improvement of problem-solving skills and clinical competency.

간호대학생의 감성역량증진 프로그램 개발 및 효과: 비동등성 대조군 전후설계 (The development and effects of an emotional competency promotion program for nursing students: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design)

  • Purpose: The objectives of this research are to verify the development and effectiveness of a nursing student emotional competency promotion program that is important in professional nursing strategies for strengthening the psychological well-being of patients. Methods: This research was done by developing an emotional competency promotion program for nursing students according to the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation (ADDIE) model. Apply the program to students and evaluate their effects on their self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management and self-efficacy using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this research were 48 nursing students enrolled in the department of nursing of D College; 24 students were placed in the experimental group and 24 students were in the control group. The experimental group participated in the developed program from December 18, 2017 to January 12, 2018, for a total of 8 sessions. Each session was 120 minutes long. For data collection, a pretest, posttest 1 and 2 were performed using an independent t-test and repeated measure ANOVA using SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: The experimental group who participated in the emotional competency promotion program showed higher self awareness (F=5.65, p=.005), self management (F=11.12, p<.001), social awareness (F=5.02, p=.009), relationship management (F=11.22, p<.001) and self-efficacy (F=14.24, p<.001) than the control group. These results were supported by a statistically meaningful difference in the time period and the interaction between the time period and the two groups. Conclusion: The study's findings indicate that the emotional competency promotion program developed through this study is effective at increasing the self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management and self-efficacy of nursing students.

어린이병원 신규간호사를 위한 간호역량 향상 교육프로그램 개발 및 효과검증 (The development and evaluation of a pediatric nurse education program to improve nursing competency for newly graduated nurses in a children's hospital)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of a standardized educational program to improve nursing competency on newly graduated nurses in a children's hospital after developing and applying a pediatric nurse education program. The effectiveness of the program was confirmed by evaluating the clinical competency and field adaptation. Methods: In the first step, an education program was developed using the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation (ADDIE) model. As a second step, a similar experimental study of a single group repeat measures design was conducted to evaluate the clinical competency and field adaptation over time after application of the program. Additionally, a focus group interviews were conducted to collect subjective data on the effects and improvement points of the program. Results: As a result of applying the program, there was a significant change in the clinical competence and the field adaptation of newly graduated nurses in a children's hospital. The categories derived from the focus group interviews were "getting special guidance," "better care," "becoming a nurse at a children's hospital" and "winning together." Conclusion: It was confirmed that the education program enhances the clinical competency of new nurses in children's hospitals. In addition, it provided the necessary data to understand the experiences of new nurses, help them adapt effectively, and establish appropriate interventions.

학사경고생이 지각하는 대학교육서비스 질과 대학생활적응, 학습역량 간 구조적 관계 분석 (A Study of the Structural Relationship among the Quality of Higher Education Service, Adaptation to College Life, and Learning Competency Perceived by Students on Academic Probation)

  • 본 연구는 학사경고생이 지각하는 대학교육서비스 질과 대학생활적응, 학습역량 간의 구조적 인과관계를 파악하고자 수행되었다. 이러한 연구목적 달성을 위하여 학사경고생 대상 설문개발 및 온라인 설문을 통해 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학행정서비스는 대학생활적응과 학습역량에 부적으로 유의한 영향(p<.05, β=.-468)을 미치는 나타났다. 둘째, 교육과정은 대학생활적응을 매개로 학습역량에 정적으로 유의한 영향(p<.001, β=.782)을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생활적응은 학습역량에 정적으로 유의한 영향(p<.001, β=.897)을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 학사경고생 맞춤 대학행정서비스 및 교육과정 운영을 통한 대학생활적응 및 학습역량 향상 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.

간호대학생의 자기주도학습 준비도, 교수-학생 상호작용, 학업성취도가 핵심역량, 학습동기와 학습만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Self-Directed Learning Readiness, Teacher-Student Interaction, and Academic Achievement on Core Competency, Learner Motivation, and Learner Satisfaction in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생을 대상으로 핵심역량, 학습동기, 학습만족도에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악하여 다양한 학습법을 적용할 때 대상자의 핵심역량, 학습동기, 학습만족도를 높이기 위한 근거를 제시함으로써 보다 효과적인 교수학습법을 개발하고자 함이다. 본 연구의 설계는 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상은 S시에 위치한 E대학교 간호대학생 2, 3학년을 대상으로 하였으며, 총 134명의 자료가 최종 분석에 포함되었다. 본 연구의 결과 간호대학생의 핵심역량은 2학년보다는 3학년에서 높았고, 간호대학생의 핵심역량, 학습동기와 학습만족도 모두 자기주도학습 준비도와 교수-학생 상호작용이 평균이상인 학생이 평균미만인 학생보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 자기주도학습 준비도, 교수-학생 상호작용, 학업성취도 3개의 변수로 구축된 핵심역량에 대한 회귀모형의 설명력은 45.1%이었고, 자기주도학습 준비도, 교수-학생 상호작용, 학업성취도, 학습만족도 4개의 변수로 구축된 학습동기에 대한 회귀모형의 설명력은 47.5%이었으며, 교수-학생 상호작용, 학습동기 2개의 변수로 구축된 학습만족도 모형의 설명력은 43.4%이었다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과 핵심역량과 학습동기를 높이기 위해서는 자기 주도학습 준비도와 함께 교수-학생 상호작용을 증진시키는 것이 필요하며, 학습만족도를 높이기 위해서는 학습동기를 고취시키고 교수-학생 상호작용이 효율적으로 일어날 수 있도록 하는 중재가 필요하겠다.

근거중심실무 연계 중환자간호 실습교육의 적용 및 효과 (Effects of Evidence Based Practice Integrated Critical Care Clinical Practicum)

  • Purpose: This study examines the effects of integrating Evidence Based Practice (EBP) into a critical care clinical practicum on nursing students' access and use of information resources and EBP competency. Methods: A one-group pretest-posttest design was used. Fifty senior nursing school students from a university participated. A critical care clinical practicum combined with EBP consisted of six full days of clinical practicum in intensive care units with EBP education. Group and individual training in EBP skills, lectures, small group discussion and conferences were provided. Data were analyzed using paired t tests for 50 participants. Results: The scores of evidence based practice competency increased significantly (p<.001) showing significant improvement in searching and classifying the evidence. Nursing students' access and use of research evidence improved (p=.004). Conclusion: This study showed that the integration of EBP into a clinical practicum was effective in improving accessibility and usefulness in research evidence such as guidelines and research articles, and increasing EBP competency in undergraduate students.

혼종 모형을 이용한 간호 학습전이의 개념 분석 (A Concept Analysis on Learning Transfer in Nursing Using the Hybrid Model)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to define and clarify learning transfer in nursing. Methods: This study used a hybrid model to analyze the concept of learning transfer in nursing through three phases. For the theoretical phase, learning transfer attributes were identified through a scoping literature review. In the fieldwork phase, in-depth focus group interviews were conducted to develop attributes. Purposive sampling was performed with ten participants(five nursing students, two nurses, three nursing faculty members). In the analysis phase, the attributes and final analysis of learning transfer in nursing were extracted and integrated from the previous two phases. Results: According to the analysis, learning transfer was represented in two dimensions with eight attributes. The development of competency dimension had three attributes: 1) theory acquisition, nursing skills, professional attitude, 2) integration, and 3) analysis competency. The competency change dimension had five attributes: 1) appropriateness in patient care, 2) proficiency in patient care, 3) satisfaction, 4) achievement, and 5) confidence. Conclusion: The concept analysis might provide a basic understanding of learning transfer, a development framework toward a measurement of nursing learning transfer and effective educational nursing strategies.

간호대학생의 메타인지, 의사소통능력 및 핵심기본간호술 수행자신감이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향 (Factors Influencing Metacognition, Communication Skills, and Confidence in the Performance of Core Basic Nursing Skills on Clinical Competency in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the effect of metacognition, communication skills, and confidence in the performance of core basic nursing skills on clinical competency in nursing students. Methods: A total of 158 students were recruited from two nursing colleges in B metropolitan city. Data were collected by means of self-reported questionnaires from December 3-31, 2018 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression with SPSS 21.0. Results: Metacognition, communication skills, and confidence in the performance of core basic nursing skills were higher than normal and the relationship between the variables metacognition (r=.69, p=<.001), communication skills (r=.69, p=<.001), and confidence in the performance of core basic nursing skills (r=.59, p=<.001) were highly positively correlated with clinical performance. Factors influencing these three variables accounted for 64.4% of clinical competency. Conclusion: Further research on the development of the curriculum and intervention program, and the verification of the effect are needed.

간호대학생의 환자안전 역량에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors affecting nursing students' patient safety competencies)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify nursing students' level of critical thinking disposition, communication skills, and self-leadership and to identify factors that affect the patient safety competency of nursing students. Methods: This study employs a descriptive research, method and was conducted from April 20 to May 19, 2022, with students from three nursing colleges in Korea. The collected data were analyzed by frequency and percentage, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. All analyzes were conducted using IBM SPSS 22.0. Results: The results of the multiple regression analysis showed that the regression model was significant (F=17.30, p<.001) and that communication skills (β=.22, p=.001), self-leadership (β=.31, p<.001), patient safety education experience (β=.15, p=.009), and subjects for credit (β=.15, p=.006) explained 28.0% of nursing students' patient safety competency. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a self-leadership and communication skills improvement program and to organize rgular courses safety education subjects to improve the patient safety competency of nursing students.

군 병원 간호사의 의사소통능력, 비판적 사고성향, 환자안전문화 인식이 환자안전역량에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Nurses' Communication Competency, Critical Thinking Disposition, and Perception of Patient Safety Culture on Patient Safety Competency in Armed Forces Hospitals)

  • Purpose: This study examined the influence of nurses' communication competency, critical thinking disposition, and perception of patient safety culture on patient safety competency in armed forces hospitals. Methods: A crosssectional design was employed with a convenience sample of 204 nurse officers from four armed forces hospitals in South Korea. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire from August 10~23, 2019, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. All analyses were conducted using SPSS for Windows 21.0. Results: Patient safety competency scores were 4.35±0.40 for patient safety attitudes, 3.63±0.64 for patient safety knowledge, and 3.94±0.51 for patient safety skill. Communication competency, critical thinking disposition, and perception of patient safety culture were positively correlated with patient safety competency. Communication competency (β=.30, p=.002) and perception of patient safety culture (β=.24, p=.001) were identified as particularly important factors influencing patient safety competency. Conclusion: This study's results suggest that education programs to enhance communication competency and patient safety culture could increase patient safety competency among nurses in armed forces hospitals.
