A Study on the relationship between dynamic capability & technology innovation performance

  • In this paper, we propose that investigating the relationship between the dynamic capacity and the technological innovation performance of firms. Based on the previous research, we divide the dynamic capacity into the adaptive capacity, absorption capacity, and productive capacity. Among the 3,400 companies responding to the technical statistics of SMEs in 2011, we performed multiple regression analysis with 2,807 except service industries. As a result, the absorptive capacity and productive capacity have a positive effect on the technological innovation performance at the 99% level, whereas the adaptive capacity has a negative effect on the technological innovation performance at the 95% level. The implications of this study are as follows. First, in order to improve the performance of technological innovation, it is important to strengthen the absorption capacity and productive capacity of companies. Absorption capacity shows that it is important to secure sufficient R & D manpower and R & D cost to utilize internal knowledge as well as to bring outside knowledge into the capacity to assimilate and utilize external knowledge. Second, the ability to commercialize a product is a capability to commercialize a technology that has succeeded in development, showing that the technology development organization must have the capability of post-development commercialization as well as technology development. Finally it shows the negative effect on adaptation capacity and innovation performance. Companies actively utilize external sources of information in order to respond to and adapt to the rapidly changing business environment. However, the results of this study show that a strategic approach is needed to use external sources of information and technology development resources. Especially as the use of external information resources and technology development resources increases.

학습, 혁신역량과 혁신성과 간의 관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship of Learning, Innovation Capability and Innovation Outcome)

  • 오늘날 불확실성이 증가하면서 조직구성원의 전문역량, 즉 혁신역량에 대한 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이러한 실정에도 불구하고, 조직원 개인의 혁신역량에 대해 혁신산출물을 만들기 위한 투입요소, 혁신 활동(혁신역량보유, 발휘, 증진노력 등) 그리고 혁신산출물 간의 관계에 관한 연구는 아직까지 많지 않은 편이다. 이런 원인은 기존 혁신연구단위가 국가단위, 산업단위, 기업단위에서 이루어지는 것이 일반적이기 때문이며, 상대적으로 특정기업의 투입, 산출 및 혁신활동 자체에 대한 분석이 다소 부족한 편이다. 그러므로 이 연구는 기존 혁신연구의 틀과 시각에서 벗어나, 특정조직중심의 개인별 혁신성과와 그 성과와 관련성이 높을 것으로 추정되는 혁신활동들에 대한 네 가지 가설, 즉 첫째는 역량의 차이에 따라 혁신성과는 차이가 있을 것이다. 둘째, 학습시간의 차이에 따라 역량은 차이가 있을 것이다. 셋째, 학습시간의 차이에 따라 혁신성과는 차이가 있을 것이다. 넷째, 학습시간과 혁신성과 간의 관계에는 혁신역량의 매개효과가 있을 것이다(구조모형 검정)는 문제에 대해 정량분석을 시도하여, 조직 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위한 정책적 시사점을 도출하는 것을 연구목적으로 한다.

산업클러스터 내 사회적 자본이 기업성과에 미치는 영향: 조직학습의 역할을 중심으로 (The effect of social capital on firm performance within industrial clusters: Mediating role of organizational learning of clustering SMEs)

  • Although the success of industrial clusters largely depends on whether clustering firms can achieve economic performance, there has been less attention on investigating factors and conditions contributing to the performance enhancement for clustering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Along this vein, we adopt the theories of social capital and organizational learning as those success factors for clustering SMEs. This study thus aims at examining what effect social capital accrued in the relationships among actors within clusters has on firm performance of clustering SMEs and what role organizational learning plays in the linkage between social capital and firm performance. For the empirical analysis, we operationalized the variables and their measures to develop questionnaires through the theoretical reviews on literatures. As a sample of 227 clustering SMEs, our collected data was analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis. The results confirmed that a high level of social capital, represented by network, trust, and norm, has positive effect on firm performance of clustering SMEs. We also found that clustering firms presenting high organizational learning, represented by absorptive and transformative capability, achieve better performance than those placing less value on organizational learning. Furthermore the significant relationship between social capital and firm performance is mediated partially through organizational learning. These findings imply not only that the territorial agglomeration of industrial cluster does not guarantee the performance creation of clustering SMEs but that they need to develop social capital among various actors within clusters, facilitating their knowledge diffusion. In order to absorb and mobilize the shared knowledge and information into strategic resources, the firms should improve their capability associated with organizational learning. These expand our understanding on the importance of social capital and organizational learning for the performance enhancement of clustering firms. Differentiating from major studies addressing benefits and advantages of industrial cluster, this study based on the perspective of firm-internal business process contributes to the literature advancement. Strategic and policy implications of this study are discussed in detail.

고흡음성 목재의 흡음성능과 구조적 특징 (Sound Absorption Capability and Anatomical Features of Highly Sound Absorptive Wood)

  • 일본산 산공재 중 구조적 특징이 목재흡음에 적합하다고 사료되는 카기카즈라목재의 흡음성능과 구조적 특징을 관찰하고자 목재횡단방향으로 원반형시험편을 채취하여 구조적 특징을 관찰하고, 전달함수법으로 흡음율을 측정하였다. 측정주파수범위에서 카기카즈라 횡단면의 흡음율은 0.30에서 0.50의 수치를 나타내었다. 비교수종인 낙엽송시험편보다 2~3배 높은 흡음율을 나타내었으며, 특히 2~4 KHz의 주파수영역에서는 50% 전후로 높은 흡음율을 나타내었다. 카기카즈라목재의 횡단면에서는 다수의 커다란 도관이 존재하고 이들 도관요소들은 단일천공판으로 연결되어 다공질형흡음에 유용한 연속된 모세관이 다량 존재하는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 기업가정신과 동적역량 간의 관계분석을 통해 조직유효성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 나아가 조직유효성 향상 방안에 대해서 연구하는 것이다. Teece(2002)의 동적역량의 이론을 토대로 조사하였으며, 이에 따른 세부항목을 연구하여 연구 모형을 수립하였다. 본 연구의 가설은 다음과 같이 설정하였다. 첫째, 기업가정신은 동적역량에 유의한 영향을 미칠 것이다. 둘째, 동적역량은 조직유효성에 유의한 영향을 미칠 것이다. 설문은 IT 벤처기업에 재직 중인 임직원을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 412부를 분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 기업가정신과 동적역량 간의 관계가 조직유효성에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히 조직에서 동적역량의 융합탐색역량이 조직유효성에 높은 영향력을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이에 CEO는 조직구성원들에게 동적역량의 융합탐색역량을 적극적으로 개발하고 조직유효성에 영향력을 행사하고 있는지 고려해 볼 필요가 있다.

  • 본 연구는 기업이 창업 후 죽음의 계곡을 극복하여 지속가능한 성장에 영향을 미치는 요인을 기술, 시장, 입지, 클러스터, INC모델 관점에서 접근하였으며, 대덕클러스터 내 기술기반 기업을 대상으로 성공·실패기업에 대한 사례연구를 진행하여 선행연구의 주요 요인과의 적정성 및 적합성을 탐색하였다. 본 연구 결과는 클러스터 내 기업의 성장을 위해서는 혁신 주체 간 입지 접근성 기반 협업이 중요하며, 기업의 제품·서비스가 시장에서 혁신 가치를 창출하기 위해서는 혁신적인 아이디어(Idea), 시장의 요구(Needs), 요구를 충족할 수 있는 역량(Capability) 등 균형적 성장이 필요함을 제시한다. 대덕클러스터 내 기업 대상 성공·실패 사례분석으로 지속 가능한 기업 성장을 위한 요인을 제시했다는 점에서 연구의 가치가 있다. 그리고 클러스터 내 기업육성을 위해 기업 간 협업 기반 정책적 지원 방안을 제시했다는 점에서 연구의 성과가 있다.

GaAs PIN Diode를 이용한 3:1 대역폭 스위치 모듈 (3:1 Bandwidth Switch Module by Using GaAs PH Diode)

  • 6-18 GHz 주파수대역에서 사용되는 흡수형의 SP3T 및 SP8T 스위치 모듈을 설계 및 제작하였다. 스위치 모듈에 사용된 MMIC 칩의 에피구조는 저 손실과 고 전력용으로 설계되었다. 최대입력전력은 SP3T 스위치 모듈이 2 W이고 SP8T 스위치 모듈이 1 W이다. 200 nsec의 고속 스위칭을 위한 구동회로를 모듈에 내장하였다. 모듈의 최대삽입손실은 SP3T 및 SP8T에 대해 각각 2.8 dB, 4.2 dB로 측정되었다. 입ㆍ출력포트간 분리도는 모두 55 dB 이상을 얻을 수 있었다. 두 스위치 모듈은 전자전 시스템에 적용하기 위한 관련 환경시험을 모두 통과하였다.

An Experimental Study on the Absorption Property of Slit Absorbers with Composite Details

  • Single absorbing materials and Helmholtz resonators have limited absorption characteristics over limited frequency ranges due to their structures and properties. Porous materials are highly absorptive for mid and high frequency ranges, while they have little sound absorption for low frequency sounds. Helmholtz resonators are generally used to absorb sound energy for a specified frequency range. Hence they have limited capability in controlling the overall acoustic properties of a space. Not much has been known about useful finishing materials which have enough rigidity and absorption over broad frequency range, in spite of wide demands from acoustic designers and consultants. The present work measured and analyzed absorption characteristics of a slit absorber by varying surface materials, depths of air gap, dimensions of slat and slit widths. It was found that the narrower the slit width, the larger the absorptions over the wide frequency ranges and the pattern was dependent on the presence of porous material. Narrower slat's width tend to increase the slit absorber's absorption more or less. Absorption coefficients at low frequency ranges were dramatically improved (from 0.23 to 0.56) by increasing air gap when porous materials were present.

The Adoption of Big Data to Achieve Firm Performance of Global Logistic Companies in Thailand

  • Purpose: Big Data analytics (BDA) has been recognized to improve firm performance because it can efficiently manage and process large-scale, wide variety, and complex data structures. This study examines the determinants of Big Data analytics adoption toward marketing and financial performance of global logistic companies in Thailand. The research framework is adopted from the technology-organization-environment (TOE) model, including technological factors (relative advantages), organizational factors (technological infrastructure and absorptive capability), environmental factors (industry competition and government support), Big Data analytics adoption, marketing performance, and financial performance. Research design, data, and methodology: A quantitative method is applied by distributing the survey to 450 employees at the manager's level and above. The sampling methods include judgmental, stratified random, and convenience sampling. The data were analyzed by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results: The results showed that all factors significantly influence Big Data analytics adoption, except technological infrastructure. In addition, Big Data analytics adoption significantly influences marketing and financial performance. Conversely, marketing performance has no significant influence on financial performance. Conclusions: The findings of this study can contribute to the strategic improvement of firm performance through Big Data analytics adoption in the logistics, distribution, and supply chain industries.

해외진출 벤처기업의 R&D협력이 경쟁우위에 미치는 영향 (The R&D Collaboration and Competitive Advantages in Korean Global Venture Firms)

  • This study is to investigate the relationships between R&D collaboration and competitive advantage in Korean international venture firms from the perspective of resource-based theory, organizational learning and network theory. The R&D collaboration is divided into vertical cooperation within the value chain and horizontal cooperation beyond value chain. The first key finding from empirical analysis is that both vertical and horizontal R&D collaborations have significantly positive impacts on technology based competitive advantages. The vertical R&D collaboration has more impacts on competitive advantages than horizontal R&D collaboration. This suggests that R&D collaboration with purchasers and suppliers plays a greater role for venture organizations' competitiveness. Second, the potential knowledge based absorption capacity and mutual goodwill trust also work significantly to reinforce the positive influences of R&D collaboration to the competitive advantage. This implies that mutual trust between partners participating in collaboration and absorption capacity within venture organizations would strengthen the effectiveness of R&D cooperation. This study provides the practical implications that the performance and effectiveness of R&D collaboration may rely on the nature of cooperation partners and internal organization capability.
