A Study on Design and Fabrication of Complex Type EM Wave Absorber with Super Wide-band Characteristics

  • In order to construct an Anechoic Chamber satisfying international standards for EMI testing, it has been recognized that the absorption characteristics of the EM wave absorber must be higher than 20 dB over the frequency band from 30 MHz to 18 GHz. In this paper, an EM wave absorber with super wide-band frequency characteristics was proposed and designed in order to satisfy the above requirements by using the Equivalent Material Constant Method(EMCM) and Finite Difference Time Domain(FDTD). The proposed absorber is to attach a pyramidal absorber onto a hemisphere-type absorber on a cutting cone-shaped ferrite. As a result, the proposed absorber has absorption characteristics higher than 20 dB over the frequency band from 30 MHz to more than 20 GHz.

관엽식물의 생리적 반응 차이에 의한 대기오염물질 $(O_3, SO_2, O_3+SO_2)$의 흡수능 비교 (Comparison of Absorption Ability by Difference of Physiological Response in Three Foliage Plants Exposed to $O_3 and SO_2$ SIngly and in Combination)

  • We compared absorption and adsorption rates of air pollutants by plants to eveluate the difference of absorption capacity of plant species and kinds of air pollutants, when foilage plants were exposed to $O_3$ and $SO_2$ singly and combiningly. Absorption and adsorption rates of three foliage plants exposed to $O_3$ and $SO_2$ singly and in combination varied a little according to plant species and kinds of air pollutants. But total absorption rate of Spathiphyllum patinii and Ficus benjamina was higher, and it was lower in Pachira aquatica. When exposed to $O_3$ and $SO_2$ at the same concentration, Pachira aquatica absorbed more $O_3$ than $SO_2$, in contrast to Ficus benjamina absorbing more $SO_2$. On the other hand, Spathiphyllum patinii absorbed as much $O_3$ as $SO_2$. Physiological activities were measured since absorption rates were affected by physiological characteristics of plants. Spathiphyllum patinii and Ficus benjamina showed higher photosynthetic and transpiration rates, and Pachira aquatica showed lower values. And diffusive and stomatal resistences of Pachira aquatica were higher than those of two other species. These results showed that absorption capacity was affected by the differences of physiological characteristics. Absorption capacity of air pollutants increased in plants, such as Spathiphyllum patinii and Ficus benjamina, which had high $SO_2$ absorption rate. We found that plants showing high $CO_2$ absorption rates absorb a lot of air pollutnats.

  • For sound absorption and sound insulation in automobile industry, the sound absorption materials based on meltblown nonwovens were prepared by SMS (spunbond-meltblown-spunbond) technique. And the sound absorption coefficient (${\alpha}$) of the meltblown nonwoven, produced with isotatic-polypropylene(PP), was examined for the various processing conditions such as die-to-collector distance(DCD), nonwoven weight(GSM), and air suction conditions. The meltblown nonwoven for sound absorption materials was composed of bulky microfiber web, increasing with increases in weight and DCD. The sound absorption coefficient(${\alpha}$) was excellent as a sound absorption materials of PAD type composed of SMS(spunbond-meltblownspunbond) nonwovens.

An Investigation of the Terahertz Absorption Characteristics of a Graphene Oxide Aqueous Solution Using Microfluidic Technology

  • The vibratory and rotational levels of many biological macromolecules lie in the terahertz (THz) band, which means that THz techniques can be used to identify and detect them. Moreover, since the biological activity of most biomolecules only becomes apparent in aqueous solution, we use microfluidic technology to study the biological properties of these biomolecules. THz time-domain spectroscopy was used to study the THz absorption characteristics of graphene oxide (GO) aqueous solution at different concentrations and different exposure times in fixed electric or magnetic fields. The results show that the spectral characteristics of the GO solution varied with the concentration: as the concentration increased, the THz absorption decreased. The results also show that after placing the solution in an external electric field, the absorption of THz first increased and then decreased. When the solution was placed in a magnetic field, the THz absorption increased with the increase in standing time. In this paper, these results are explained based on considerations of what is occurring at the molecular scale. The results of this study provide technical support for the further study of GO and will assist with its improved application in various fields.

녹지환경을 고려한 탄소흡수원의 기초정보에 대하여 -강릉지역의 지정학적 위치를 중심으로- (Study on the Basic Information of Carbon Absorption Source in Gangneung Area Considering Green Environment -Centering on geopolitical positions-)

  • The study analyzes the forest status of each local government for Korean forests and believes that it can be used as basic data for setting the direction pursued by each local government. The study took into account the fact that the forest rate in Korea was 63.5%, because it was judged that the higher the proportion of forest area, the more important it was to use the characteristics of forests. The characteristics of forests were analyzed based on four factors in 12 factors to identify the location of the ground body by dividing seven types. In addition, basic information on carbon absorption sources was provided by grasping the ability of carbon absorption sources per year through the amount of forest resources to be analyzed. In addition, as a result of analyzing the characteristics of the weather for the promotion of carbon absorption sources, the flat area on the side of Gangneung Mountain was a warm forest with a warm index of 106.0.

  • Many of research on noise reduction techniques have been progressed for the improvement of noise environment in subway train. There are many way to noise reduction techniques in the tunnel, but it has been reported as an alternative to attach sound absorption material on tunnel wall. For this reason sound absorption material has been studied for application of tunnel. The objective of this study is to investigate design parameters on a Helmholtz resonator with built-in sound absorption panel for the reduction of the tunnel noise in the subway. Sound absorption panel composed of the perforated panel with sub-millimeter holes and the airspace backed a rigid wall or between panels. The experiment is performed through the change of number of perforated panel, cross sectional area and the depth of airspace of the sound absorption panel under the normal incidence sound.

p-type HPGe 검출기 특성에 따른 밀도 보정인자 의존도 평가 (Dependence Evaluation of the Self-Absorption Correction Factor for p-type High Purity Germanium Detector Characteristics)

  • HPGe 검출기를 이용하여 밀도가 다양한 환경시료에 대한 정밀 분석시 정확한 분석을 위해서는 밀도보정인자가 필요하다. 밀도에 대한 보정인자를 구하기 위해서 본 연구에서는 몬테카를로 코드인 MCNPX 코드를 사용하여 크리스털의 높이, 지름 및 코어의 크기와 같은 특성이 다른 세 대의 p-type HPGe 검출기를 모사하고 밀도 $1g/m^3$의 교정용 표준시료를 이용하여 모델링을 검증하였다. 검증을 통하여 모델링을 확정한 후 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.0, 1.2, $1.5g/m^3$ 밀도를 가진 샘플에 대한 효율을 시뮬레이션하고 밀도보정인자를 도출하였다. 도출된 각 검출기에 대한 밀도보정인자를 비교하였을 때 전 에너지 범위에서 그 차이가 거의 없음을 확인하였으며 이는 검출기의 크리스털과 같은 주요 특성에 대해 밀도보정인자가 독립적임을 의미한다.

  • The goal of this research is to get a measuring system for absorption characteristics of electromagnetic wave absorbers in ferrite type which are lat grid-type special type etc. It is however very difficult to measure the absorption characteristics as in low frequency as in 30 MHz, To solve the problem therefore we propose a standing wave method and a measurement method in time domain using parallel striplines construct the measuring system and measure the characteristics of ferrite microwave absorbers in grid type using the proposed measuring system.

  • Because of the inherent flexibility in their design for improved material properties, composites have wide applications in aerospace vehicles and automobiles. The purpose of this study is to investigate the energy absorption characteristics of CFRP( Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics); tubes on static and impact tests. Static compression tests have been carried out using the static testing machine(Shin-gang buckling testing machine)and impact compression tests have been carried out using the vertival crushing testing machine. When such tubes were subjected to crushing loads, the response is complex and depends on the interaction between the different mechanisms that control the crushing process. The collapse characteristics and energy absorption were examined. Trigger and interlaminar number affect energy absorption capability of CFRP tubes.
