  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of wearing disposable diaper with the endothermic agent on thermoregulatory response of infant. Five healthy female infants aged about 5 months were taken as a subject of this experiment. Experimental diapers were six kinds of disposable diaper constructed of nonwoven tissue, fluff pulp, super absorbent polymer, back sheet film, leg elastic, and 0g urea(A) 1g urea(B) , 2g urea(C), 3g urea (D), 4g urea(E) 5g, urea(F) respectively. Urea(98% or over purity) was used as an endothermic agent. Experiment was proceeded while infants were sleeping at 27.5$\pm$0.5$^{\circ}C$, 50$\pm$5% R.H, 0.04m/sec. Each disposable diaper's properties was tested. During the experiment rectal temperature skin temperature of 9 areas temperature inside the disposable diapers were measured, the results were as follows : 1) There was not significant difference among the diapers in absorption capacity retention capacity and rewet(p=0.05). 마스크 팩 시트의 특성 연구 (A study on the Characteristic of Mask Sheets)

  • 본 연구는 시중에 판매되고 있는 시트 타입 마스크 팩의 재질에 따른 특성에 관한 연구이다. 정제수와 1.3-propanediol, 1.3-butylene glycol, Glycerine, Hyaruronic acid와 같은 수용성 성분과 Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Phytosqualane, Caprylic Capryl Triglyceride, Grape seed oil, Macadamia Nut oil 오일을 비롯한 다양한 오일의 흡유력을 살펴 본 결과 정제수를 제외한 모든 수용성 성분들은 점도가 커질수록 흡습능력이 커졌고 오일의 경우엔 모든 오일의 점도에 비례하여 흡유 능력이 커짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 이때 마스크 시트의 종류는 초산 발효 바이오셀룰로오스가 수용성 습윤제나 모든 오일에 있어서 500~1,000 배 이상의 함습, 함유 능력을 보여주었는데 이는 표면 구조에서 살펴본 바와 같이 5,000배 이상 확대한 사진에서 보이는 미세한 망상 구조를 이루고 있기 때문이다. 망상 구조는 단면에서도 잘 확인할 수 있었고 이러한 구조적 특징이 함습, 함유 능력을 우수하게 하며 다량 함유된 수용성 성분과 오일은 시간 경과에 따라 배출 또한 용이하게 하는 것으로 사료되는 바이다. 또한 각 마스크 시트는 소재에 따라 그 특성을 보여주고 있기에 피부에 좋은 역할을 할 수 있는 마스크 팩의 제조에 기초 연구로 삼고자 한다.

Effects of Polymerization Parameters on Absorption Properties of an Itaconic Acid-based Superabsorbent Hydrogel

  • A superabsorbent hydrogel (SAH) can absorb and retain water weighing more than a hundred times of their dry weight because of their three-dimensional hydrophilic structure. To fabricate an SAH, itaconic acid (IA) and vinyl sulfonic acid (VSA) were subjected to radical polymerization in an aqueous solution, wherein IA and VSA were neutralized, and then, a crosslinker and a thermal initiator were added in sequence. The structure of poly(IA-co-VSA) was characterized using attenuated total reflectance Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. We also studied the changes in the absorption properties of the SAH composites according to the polymerization temperature, degree of neutralization, type and content of the initiator used, and type and content of the crosslinker used. Thus, we could determine the effects of some synthetic factors on the absorption properties of the SAH.

유기 다공성 소재의 흡유 효과 (Oil Absorption Effects of Organic Porous Materials)

  • Oil spills caused by the accidents have been occurred from house and factory waste, grounded tanker, the rupture of storage tank and oil pipelines, the deterioration of various industrial facilities, etc. Many oil spills result in contamination of shorelines and workplace. Fire and explosion may happen from these spills. There are several technologies used for clean-up application, which include use of oil dispersing agents, absorbents, solidifiers, booms and skimmers by physical, chemical, and biological methods. Methods for oil spill clean-up operation are classified into the absorption type, gel type and self-swelling type. Porous materials with oil absorptive properties are classified into micropore, mesopore, and macropore depending on their pore sizes. Recently, new porous materials with smaller size have been developed, but the selective oil absorption in water-in-oil interface demonstrates the macro pore size. In this study oil absorption effects were evaluated using the organic porous materials with a complex function of gel type and swelling type. Samples were subjected to analysis by FT-IR spectroscopy and were characterized in terms of gel formation and morphologies. Oil sorption capacity, pressure retention force and gel strength were also measured. From these results, the physicochemical reactivity before and after gelation was verified and the industrial applications of clean-up operation were suggested.

  • Super water-absorbent resins were prepared by inverse suspension copolymerization of sodium acrylate, acrylamide and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate using N, N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide as cross-linker. For the suspension copolymerization, monohexadecyl phosphate was employed as the dispersing agent, cyclohexane as the dispersing medium and potassium persulfate as the initiator. The dependence of water-absorption capacity on the amount of crosslinking agent, oil/water ratio, degree of neutralization and the composition of the copolymer were systematically investigated. Furthermore, the swelling kinetics of the super water-absorbent copolymer was carried out. The absorption of the resins is more than 1800 g/g for deionized water and 100 g/g for 0.9% NaCl solution, respectively. The copolymers showed an increased salt resistance and enhanced water retention of soil.

수분의 흡수에 따른 구조용 목질판넬의 인발 및 함입성능 (Nail Withdrawal Resistance and Embedding Strength of Structural Wood Panels with Water Absorption)

  • The use of structural wood based panels like plywood, OSB in many applications involves the use of nails, and data on the performance of panel-nail connection are needed for design and comparative purpose. This study was carried out to develop basic information on nail performance(withdrawal, embedding, nailhead push through) with water absorption in plywood and OSB. In withdrawal resistance test, initial stiffness of plywood performed better than OSB in 24hr soaked condition. The soaked condition reduced average nail withdrawal resistance value about 46% (12d mail), 53%(8d nail) in OSB, 17%(12d mail), 24%(8d mail) in plywood. The nail embedding strength of plywood also performed better than that of OSB and retention value(wet strength/dry strength) yielded similar in each nail types. The nail head push through capacity of OSB was higher than that of plywood in dry condition, but equal or lower in soaked condition. Therefore, critical consideration about structural panels is required in moist applications. The average values of nail withdrawal, nail embedding strength and nail head push through resistance of tested materials meet the minimum requirement of various specification and standards.

담배 연기중(煙氣中)의 유해성분(有害成分) 감소(減少)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A study on reduction of harmful compound in cigarette smoke(I))

  • The effects of liquid sugar and sucrose on several characteristic of tobacco leaves, there combustibility and harmful compound in smoke were examined. results obtained were as follows. 1) Nicotine and total nitrogen content of tobacco leaves were reduced by sugars added to tobacco. 2) Nicotine and tar transfered to smoke were reduced by 4% sugars added to burley tobacco but not reduced by sugars added to hicks. 3) pH of smoke was reduced by sugars added but pH of tobacco shreds not reduced by sugars added. 4) The filling capacity and combustibility (S. B. R.) of tobacco shreds were increased by sugars treated. 5) Nitrogen oxides transfered to smoke was reduce by sugars treated but phenols transfered was not reduce by sugar treated. 6) The capacities of moisture absorption and retention was increased by sugars treated.

미이용 목질폐잔재의 탄화 이용개발(I) -수종의 간벌재 탄화와 탄화물의 특성- (Development of Carbonization Technology and Application of Unutilized Wood Wastes(I) -Carbonization and It's Properties of Thinned Trees-)

  • 목질폐잔재중 용이하게 입수할 수 있는 간벌재를 이용하여 그 기초적 제탄 기술을 검토하고, 이 탄화물을 이용하여 토양개량, 탈취, 수분 등의 흡착, 미생물활동 담체, 하천등 수질정화제 등으로 이용하는데 기초자료를 얻을 목적으로 탄화물의 성능을 조사하였다. 간벌재의 공업분석결과 회분 0.22~0.73%, 휘발분 77~80%, 고정탄소 약 10~14% 범위로 나타났다. 간벌재의 탄화 수율은 온도가 높아질수록, 탄화시간이 길수록 낮게 나타났고 수축률은 높게 나타났다. 수율은 낙엽송, 리기다소나무, 소나무가 높았고, 잣나무, 굴참나무가 낮았다. 탄화에 의한 수축률은 목재의 수분에 의한 수축률과 같은 경향을 나타냈다. 탄화후 비중은 각 수종에서 약 50% 감소했다. 탄화물의 공업분석은 회분 0.89~4.08%, 휘발분 6.31~13.79%, 고정탄소 73.9~83.5% 였다. 수소이온농도는 온도가 높아질수록, 탄화시간이 길수록 높게 나타났다. 탄화온도 $400^{\circ}C$의 경우 약 pH 7.5를 나타냈고, $600^{\circ}C$$800^{\circ}C$의 경우는 차이가 거의 없이 약 pH 10정도를 나타냈다. 보수성은 본 실험의 탄화온도와 시간의 조건에 따른 영향 없이 비슷한 값을 나타냈다. 초기 24시간 내의 보수성은 시료무게의 약 2.5~3배 정도이고, 그후 평형함수율은 2~10%의 범위를 나타냈다.

Preparation and Cyclic Performance of Li1.2(Fe0.16Mn0.32Ni0.32)O2 Layered Cathode Material by the Mixed Hydroxide Method

  • Layered $Li_{1.2}(Fe_{0.16}Mn_{0.32}Ni_{0.32})O_2$ was prepared by the mixed hydroxide method at various temperatures. Xray diffraction (XRD) pattern shows that this material has a ${\alpha}-NaFeO_2$ layered structure with $R{\bar{3}}m$ space group and that cation mixing is reduced with increasing synthesis temperature. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) reveals that nano-sized $Li_{1.2}(Fe_{0.16}Mn_{0.32}Ni_{0.32})O_2$ powder has uniform particle size distribution. X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) analysis is used to study the local electronic structure changes around the Mn, Fe, and Ni atoms in this material. The sample prepared at $700^{\circ}C$ delivers the highest discharge capacity of 207 $mAhg^{-1}$ between 2-4.5 V at 0.1 $mAcm^{-2}$ with good capacity retention of 80% after 20 cycles.

찰보리 분말을 첨가한 식빵의 레올로지 및 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics and Dough Rheological Properties of Pan Bread with Waxy Barley Powder)

  • 본 연구에서는 찰보리의 이화학적인 성분을 분석하고 찰보리 분말의 첨가량을 달리하여 식빵반죽과 식빵을 제조하여 물리적, 관능적 특성을 측정하였다. 일반 성분 분석 결과 찰보리 분말의 수분함량은 8.33%, 조단백은 10.47%, 조지방은 1.63%, 조회분은 2.97%로 나타났다. 찰보리 분말을 첨가한 식빵 반죽의 sedimentation value와 pelshenke value 측정 결과는 찰보리 분말 첨가량이 증가할수록 감소하였다. Water retention capacity와 alkaline water retention capacity 측정 결과는 찰보리 분말 첨가량이 증가할수록 증가하였다. 찰보리 분말을 첨가한 식빵 반죽의 farinograph 측정 결과 consistency, water absorption, development time, stability 및 time breakdown은 첨가량이 증가할수록 감소하였고, tolerance index는 증가하였다. 찰보리 분말을 첨가한 식빵 반죽의 amylograph 측정 결과 pasting temp T값은 첨가량이 증가할수록 증가하였고, peak viscosity P값, hot past viscosity H값 및 breakdown P-H 값은 감소하였고, final viscosity F값, setback F-H값은 유의적 차이 없었다. 찰보리 분말 첨가한 식빵의 굽기 손실률과 비용적은 첨가량이 증가할수록 감소하였다. 찰보리 분말을 첨가한 식빵의 색도 측정결과 L값, a값, b값은 첨가량이 증가할수록 유의적 차이가 없었다. 찰보리 분말을 첨가한 식빵의 texture 측정 결과 경도와 점착성은 첨가량이 증가할수록 증가하였고, 응집성, 탄력성 및 씹힘성은 감소하였다. 기호도 검사 결과는 맛, 촉촉함, 부드러움, 씹힘성과 전반적인 기호도는 10% 첨가군이 가장 높게 나타났다.
