Java API for Native ATM Services (순수 ATM 서비스를 제공하는 자바 API)

  • In this paper, we propose an ATM API for Java pplication programming. The proposed Java ATM API is an extended form of java.net package of the Java Core API. Our Java ATM API is defined based on the ATM Forum's semantic standard for native ATM services, "Native ATM Service : Semantic Description, Version 1.0". IN order to provide native ATM services, we defined several new classes within the java.net package, including AtmAddress for AtmAddress, AtmSocket, ATM BLLI and AtmBHLI for Atm BLLI and BHLI information, AtmServerSocket, AtmMulticastSocket, AtmSocketImpl for socket programming over native ATM communication, and AtmConnAttr for native ATM connection characteristics. Software structure for construcing the Java ATM API over Winsock 2 environment and its implementation method are also presented.

  • Ip over ATM and LAN Emulation over ATYM are cimmon methosd for applications to use ATM netework.But these can hardly provide full ATM serviece because of legacy transprot and network protocols they use.This paper presents work of desing and implementation of a Native ATM API that can enable direct use of native ATM scriviccs.In our work, Native ATM API specification which accommodates ATM Forum's "Native ATM Services :Semantic Deseription"has been defined, and based on this, Native ATM API has been implemented of our development are addressed, and implementation envuroment, sofware archiercture, Native ATM API library functions, and applecation programming using our Native ATM API are described.described.

  • 이 논문에서는 자바 환경에서 사용될 수 있는 ATM API를 정의하고, 이렇게 정의된 자바 ATM API를 Winsock 2 환경 상에서 구축할 경우 요구되는 소프트웨어의 구조와 구현 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 자바 ATM API는 기존의 자바 프로그래밍 환경에서 제공되는 JDK 중에서 인터넷 통신 기능을 정의하고 있는 java.net 패키지의 확장된 형태로 정의되었다. 동시에 순수 ATM 서비스의 표준인 ATM 포럼의 "Native ATM Services: Semantic Description, Version 1.0" 규격에 따른 표준화된 ATM 서비스 기능들을 제공할 수 있도록 정의되었다. 표준화된 ATM 서비스 제공을 위해 java.net에 추가적으로 정의된 자바ㆍATM API 용 클래스로는, ATM 어드레싱을 위한 AtmAddress, BLLI/BHLI 정보의 이용을 위한 AtmBLLI와 AtmBHLI, 소켓 개념의 통신 프로그래밍을 위한 AtmSocket, AtmServerSocket, AtmMulticastSocket, AtmSocketImpl 그리고 ATM 통신의 장점인 연결의 특성 표현을 위한 AtmConnAttr 등이다.

Web System over Native ATM Service (Native ATM 서비스 상의 웹 시스템)

  • In this paper, we present WWW system over native ATM services. The use of native ATM services through ATM API can provide better performance and functionality than that of IP over ATM, LAN Emulation or Multiprotocol over ATM. Our WWW browser and server provide advanced WWW services based on enhanced performance and guaranteed QoS support by using native ATM service benefits. This paper describes and compares advantages and disadvantages of Native ATM Services and ATM Internet Services, and addresses ATM API standardization and development trend that are made by the ATNI Forum for the support of native ATM services, and then describes the architecture and operation of our WWW browser and server using ATM API. The system architecture is based on HTTP over ATM API capable of supporting guaranteed QoS over its connections. The system defines and uses new HTML attributes within hyperlinking HTML elements for the description of ATM QoS and traffic characteristics that are derived from UNI signaling 3.1 connection characteristics information elements. Our system uses WinSock 2 API as its ATM API.

  • We propose a structure for implementation to provide ABR service in ATM-LAN consisting of ATM routers and ATM switches. ATM routers are constructed by installing ATM interface block with ABR capability for this purpose. The structure for EFCI, the basic function in ATM switches to support ABR service, is also proposed. Finally the testing procedure after implementation is provided to verify the conformity of the implemented systems.

  • 고속 멀티미디어 데이터를 전송하기 위한 차세대 전송망은 ATM을 기반으로 하는 무선 ATM망에 대해 표준화 동향을 분석하고자 한다. 따라서 본 고에서는 ATM Forum과 유럽 및 미국 일본을 중심으로 무선 ATM 관련 표준화 동향을 분석하고, 현재 각국에서 추진중인 무선 ATM의 구현사례를 조사 분석하였다. 그리고 ATM Forum의 표준화 분석을 통하여 무선 ATM연구 방향 설정의 자료로 활용하고자 한다.

  • ATM 기술에 기반을 둔 광대역통신망의 구축과 실용화가 추진되면서 기존의 인터넷이나 패켓망에서와 마찬가지로 ATM 망을 통해 전송되는 정보에 대한 보안 요구사항이 제기되게 되었고, 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 ATM 포럼에서는 보안 작업그룹을 설립하여 ATM 보안 규격 개발작업을 수행하고 있다. 본 고에서는 현재 ATM 포럼에서 추진되고 있는 ATM 보안규격 개발작업의 현황과 지금가지 연구 개발된 ATM 보안 규격의 주요 내용을 소개한다.

  • This paper presents a security and authentification scheme against unauthorized disclose and attack in ATM(Asynchronous Transmission Method) with various service. Four various options to place security layer between the AAL and ATM layers is discussed. The suggested security and authentification can be integrated with the call setup procedures of ATM.

A Study on the Performance Analysis of a High-Speed ATM Router (고속 ATM 라우터의 성능 분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper. the architecture of a high-speed ATM router using ATM switch is studied and the performance of the high-speed ATM router is analyzed through simulation. The high-speed ATM router using ATM switch is able to reduce the load of router and the processing time of a packet in the router. The size of router buffers has been studied through simulation processes for the analysis of performance capacity in due course of making changes in routing time(RT), which is the performance capacity parameters of high-speed ATM routers, flow table size(FS), flow live time(FT) and input circuit efficiencies. The result of this study can be used as the source material for analyzing the suitability of equipment in upgrading networks and applying high-speed ATM routers by using ATM switches.

  • There are issues regarding how some of traffic parameters should be set so that ATM and non-ATM service parameters can be compatible. For example, policing method used by frame relay based on CIR(committed information rate) will not exactly match the ATM UPC(Usage Parameter Control) method. ATM and the frame relay have different transfer modes and traffic parameters. The cells and frames are police by their own traffic control schemes. For the same information, the real traffic of the ATM side takes greater bandwidth than that of the frame relay side caused by ATM cell format and AAL5 format. IN both networks this bandwidth than that of the frame relay side caused by ATM cell format and AAL5 format. In both networks this bandwidth ratio should be considered on traffic parameter mapping to maintain their QoS and to perform efficient network resource management. In this paper we describe traffic parameter mapping schemes between frame relay and ATM in ATM network and how to expect the bandwidth ratio to maintain FR QoS in ATM network. We assumed frame length distribution to Erlang or Exponential probability density function.
