Active power control scheme for distributed generation in microgrid consists of feeder flow control and unit power control. Feeder flow control is more useful than the unit power control for demand-side management, because microgrid can be treated as a dispatchable load at the point of common coupling(PCC). This paper presents detailed descriptions of the feeder flow control scheme for the hybrid system in microgrid. It is divided into three parts, namely, the setting of feeder flow reference range for stable hybrid system operation, feeder flow control algorithm depending on load change in microgrid and hysteresis control. Simulation results using the PSCAD/EMTDC are presented to validate the inverter control method for a feeder flow control mode. As a result, the feeder flow control algorithm for the hybrid system in microgrid is efficient for supplying continuously active power to customers without interruption.

Spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs, also called germline stem cells) are self-renewing unipotent stem cells that produce differentiating germ cells in the testis. SSCs can be isolated from the testis and cultured in vitro for long-term periods in the presence of feeder cells (often mouse embryonic fibroblasts). However, the maintenance of SSC feeder culture systems is tedious because preparation of feeder cells is needed at each subculture. In this study, we developed a Matrigel-based feeder-free culture system for long-term propagation of SSCs. Although several in vitro SSC culture systems without feeder cells have been previously described, our Matrigel-based feeder-free culture system is time- and cost-effective, and preserves self-renewability of SSCs. In addition, the growth rate of SSCs cultured using our newly developed system is equivalent to that in feeder cultures. We confirmed that the feeder-free cultured SSCs expressed germ cell markers both at the mRNA and protein levels. Furthermore, the functionality of feeder-free cultured SSCs was confirmed by their transplantation into germ cell-depleted mice. These results suggest that our newly developed feeder-free culture system provides a simple approach to maintaining SSCs in vitro and studying the basic biology of SSCs, including determination of their fate.

A tape feeder of a SMD(Surface Mount Device) mounter is a device that sequentially feeds electronic components on a tape reel to the pick-up system of the mounter. As components are getting much smaller, feeding accuracy of a feeder becomes one of the most important factors for successful component pick-up. Therefore, it is critical to keep the feeding accuracy to a specified level in the assembly and production of tape feeders. This paper describes a tape feeder inspection system that was developed to automatically measure and to inspect feeding accuracy using machine vision. It consists of a feeder base, an image acquisition system, and a personal computer. The image acquisition system is composed of CCD cameras with lens, LED illumination systems, and a frame grabber inside the PC. This system loads up to six feeders at a time and inspects them automatically and sequentially. The inspection software was implemented using Visual C++ on Windows with easily usable GUI. Using this system, we can automatically measure and inspect the quality of ail feeders in production process by analyzing the measurement results statistically.

In this paper, we perform a modeling for the AT Feeder system in AC electric railway and we utilize the power EMTDC program to implement about AT feeder system modeling. In addition, we study the impedance characteristics of the AT feeder system and calculated fault current and impedance according to the distance due to fault accident. Based on it's result, fault current are compared between calculating the value and simulation value in EMTDC modeling. Impedance of power system is Largest at the middle point of the system and is smallest near autotransformer, and then showed that the fault current is inversely proportional to impedance characteristics.

Occasionally, equipment in a distribution system fails due to damage from weather, vandalism, or other causes. Failures and unexpected events do not always occur as and where expected. Therefore, a good contingency plan, multi-zone or otherwise, provides flexibility by locating switches at various strategic locations so that parts of a feeder can be picked up in the event of line outages at various places. It is possible to create feeder system layout that achieve remarkable contingency support economics, even as their normal peak loading levels approach thermal capacity, by utilizing six, seven, or even nine switchable zones per feeder. But many switchable zones per feeder are of questionable practicality and effectiveness, because of the complexity and time required for the switching operation. In practice, a zonal scheme with between three and four zones will usually provide complete contingency backup for all feeders. Line switches have both capital and maintenance costs, the planning for multi-zonal schemes is considerably more difficult than or loop or single-zone systems, and the required switching operations required during contingencies take more time. But multi-zonal schemes are used because these costs come to far less than the cost of additional capacity required for loop or single-zone. In this paper, we present the optimal number of switchable zones per feeder in Kora distribution system.
This paper Presents two distribution-feeder models to simplify complicated distribution system calculations. These equivalent models are developed to simulate the total series voltage drop at the end of the given feeder and the total line loss of the given feeder accurately. In addition, the proposed models are bidirectional. This means that power infeed can be at either end and the model is accurate. Also, it is shown that the proposed models are suitable for network reconfiguration.
It is important to consider power stability in case of design and construction of a substation at railroad because a train is operated by electricity and tains are drived simultaneous at the same section. This paper described stability of feeder system considering driving conditions and railroad conditions of train which is drived. Simulation tool, TOM(Train Operations Model) software is used to ensure stability of feeder system. As results of simulation, feeder voltage source is in limits on driving operation dia of trains.

A Loss-in-Weight (LIW) feeder, a type of automated measuring device, is a continuous feeder used in many mass production industries. Due to its versatility, there have been constant demands of LIW feeders in food production supply lines as well as chemical and pharmaceutical industries. In this paper, the process of designing a LIW feeder system with better performance will be examined and compared with commercial products. This system is characterized by low pass Butterworth filter and feed forward PI control. The filter is for noise disposal caused by dynamic condition of a LIW feeder. The feed forward PI control, based on linearity feature of feeders, is adequate for stable driving of the system. At the end, a possible evaluation method of LIW system will be proposed to verify the specific achievement of this paper.
It is difficult to feed welding wire stably, when the distance between welding wire feeder and welding torch is far enough. In order to solve this problem, arranging a extension wire feeder between them could be one of useful methods. However, the welding wire could be twisted up in the extension cable between extension and terminal wire feeders in the case that RPM of extension wire feeding motor is higher than that of terminal motor. In this study, feeding problem of normal push-pull wire feeding system occurred at low welding current range less than 250A. In order to solve the problem, two new wire feeding systems of push-pull type were introduced. Welding wire feeding tests were preformed in the range of 150A to 400A with the developed push-pull feeding system. In addition, weldability test was performed at the welding current of 200A, 300A, and 400A. The welding wire twisting problem that was observed in the normal feeding system did not occur in the new push-pull wire feeding system.
This paper proposes the identification method for the faulted feeder, where it identify whether the faulted feeder is the DG-connected feeder or the neighboring feeder (but sharing the same bus of the substation). In general, DG has to be disconnected from the grid when the fault occurs on the interconnected distribution feeder as soon as possible. However, the faults occured on the neghboring feeder would mistakenly cause the disconnection of the DG. For reliable operation of DG, DG should be sustained at the fault occurred on neighboring distribution feeders. The proposed identification method utilizes the impedance monitored from the DG and examines the coordination of overcurrent relay of the distribution system. This paper describes how the proposed method to identify the faulted feeder and how the method can be utilized.
