  • In this paper, the error rate equations of digitally modulated signals transmitted through the channel which is not only Gaussian/Impulsive noise but also multi-path fading have been derived. Using the derived equations for the error probabilities of ASK, QAM, CPSK, DPSK, FSK, and MSK signals, the error rate performances of digital modulation systems have been evaluated and represented in the graphs as the functions of CNR, Impulsive indes, the ratio of Gaussian noise power component to Impulsive noise power component, and fading figures. The results show that, in the deep fading environment, the error is occurred more frequency by Gaussian noise than Impulsive noise. And the comparison of various systems certifies that PSK is superior to the ohter systems in the deep fading or shallow fading environment.

  • There are the frequency shift keying(FSK), phase shift keying(PSK) and amplitude shift keying(ASK) in the conventional digital communications method. In this parer, We proposed the algorithm for wavelet shift keying system using a binary matching filter in the digital communication. Wavelet shift keying system are used to a scaling function(low frequency) and wavelet(high frequency) coefficients. The binary data is encoded by modulator which assigned the scaling function to 1(one), and wavelet to zero(0). Wavelet shift keying of the conventional method needs to a post-processing for the decoding. In this paper, wavelet shift keying signal is reconstructed by the decoder using a binary matching filter. So, it was able to the decoding without the post-processing. It was demonstrated by the experiment that the proposed algorithm is a validity.

  • Background: Common questions about shoulder arthroplasty (SA) searched online by patients and the quality of this content are unknown. The purpose of this study is to uncover questions SA patients search online and determine types and quality of webpages encountered. Methods: The "People also ask" section of Google Search was queried to return 900 questions and associated webpages for general, anatomic, and reverse SA. Questions and webpages were categorized using the Rothwell classification of questions and assessed for quality using the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmark criteria. Results: According to Rothwell classification, the composition of questions was fact (54.0%), value (24.7%), and policy (21.3%). The most common webpage categories were medical practice (24.6%), academic (23.2%), and medical information sites (14.4%). Journal articles represented 8.9% of results. The average JAMA score for all webpages was 1.69. Journals had the highest average JAMA score (3.91), while medical practice sites had the lowest (0.89). The most common question was, "How long does it take to recover from shoulder replacement?" Conclusions: The most common questions SA patients ask online involve specific postoperative activities and the timeline of recovery. Most information is from low-quality, non-peer-reviewed websites, highlighting the need for improvement in online resources. By understanding the questions patients are asking online, surgeons can tailor preoperative education to common patient concerns and improve postoperative outcomes. Level of evidence: IV.

  • Background: This study analyzed questions searched by rotator cuff patients and determined types and quality of websites providing information. Methods: Three strings related to rotator cuff repair were explored by Google Search. Result pages were collected under the "People also ask" function for frequent questions and associated webpages. Questions were categorized using Rothwell classification and topical subcategorization. Webpages were evaluated by Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmark criteria for source quality. Results: One hundred twenty "People also ask" questions were collected with associated webpages. Using the Rothwell classification of questions, queries were organized into fact (41.7%), value (31.7%), and policy (26.7%). The most common webpage categories were academic (28.3%) and medical practice (27.5%). The most common question subcategories were timeline of recovery (21.7%), indications/management (21.7%), and pain (18.3%). Average JAMA score for all 120 webpages was 1.50. Journal articles had the highest average JAMA score (3.77), while commercial websites had the lowest JAMA score (0.91). The most commonly suggested question for rotator cuff repair/surgery was, "Is rotator cuff surgery worth having?," while the most commonly suggested question for rotator cuff repair pain was, "What happens if a rotator cuff is not repaired?" Conclusions: The most commonly asked questions pertaining to rotator cuff repair evaluate management options and relate to timeline of recovery and pain management. Most information is provided by medical practice, academic, and medical information websites, which have highly variable reliability. By understanding questions their patients search online, surgeons can tailor preoperative education to patient concerns and improve postoperative outcomes.

  • If q(z) is a polynomial of degree n with all zeros in the unit circle, then the self-reciprocal polynomial $q(z)+x^nq(1/z)$ has all its zeros on the unit circle. One might naturally ask: where are the zeros of $q(z)+x^nq(1/z)$ located if q(z) has different zero distribution from the unit circle? In this paper, we study this question when $q(z)=(z-1)^{n-k}(z-1-c_1){\cdots}(z-1-c_k)+(z+1)^{n-k}(z+1+c_1){\cdots}(z+1+c_k)$, where $c_j$ > 0 for each j, and q(z) is a 'zeros dragged' polynomial from $(z-1)^n+(z+1)^n$ whose all zeros lie on the imaginary axis.

  • Due to the rapid process of industrialization the cities of Korea confront changes of climate, destructions of the habitate and decrease of the green. Recently Seoul and other local governments have implemented policies and projects to improve the environmental surroundings. In reality, however, those policies and projects face difficulties in the course of implementation. The fact that there are no concrete regulations and specific legal procedures turns out to be one of the main difficulties. The aim of this study is to present specific plans and methods of wall-planting and to provide basic guidelines for the future direction of wall-planting and offer ideas of facilitating wall-planting. This study is based on questionnaires from specialists of landscape architecture through individual interviews and/or e-mails. The questionnaire is consisted of following 4 sections. 1. Show the experts current regulations and/or legal procedures and ask them improvements and suggestions. 2. Ask them choose matters of the highest priority by using Ricardo's diagram method. 3. Ask them to make a graded list in terms of the location and method of wall-planting. 4. Study the maketability of the wall-planting products currently in circulation. The city of Seoul and the Ministry of Environment recommend that trellis and/or planting inducement structures be installed on the building wall by regulation. The specialists responded to the questionnaire advocate that green wall without trellis should be allowed as green zone. Therefore regulations concerning the wall-planting should be determined specifically according to the characteristics of individual plants and walls. It has been urged that legal aid and social support must be reinforced to establish rules dealing with wall-planting. The respondents also point out that significant cutting down of the tax is far more effective in accelerating the wall-green instead of administrative support. The highest priority in terms of planting has been given to sound-proof wall, retaining wall and building wall. Concerning the maketability of the wall-planting products, panel products are recommended for early-planting and building planting. It has been suggested that the research and study of new materials and species be done in advance.

  • As more and more data are collected one may ask whether the data collected within a short period of time are same. In this case traditional hypothesis testing of $H_o:{\mu}_1={\mu}_2$ vs $H_1:{\mu}_1{\neq}{\mu}_2$ is used to determine whether the data are same when there is no knowledge about equivalence testing. However, this type of hypothesis testing has the undesirable property of penalizing higher precision. So TOST is to be performed in the event of equivalence testing. In this study equivalence testing is introduced where one can find the applications in industry. Traditional two sample t testing is to be compared with the equivalent testing and the procedure to perform the equivalence testing is to be presented along with an example. Finally equivalence testing in terms of the other parameters such as variance, proportion or failure rate is to be sought.

  • The aim of this study was to measure effects of the following items to pain and pain behavior reaction in patients with chronic orofacial pain. Items that contribute to the first factor(Environmental Influences) measure environmental sources of information that may affect illness behavior; Second factro(Loss of Control) measure appraisals and attributions perceived to influence personal views aobut pain; Third factor(Health Care Avoidance) measures a variety of avoidant behaviors; Fouth factor(Past and Current Experiences) measures experiences with treatment); Fifth factor(Physiological Responsivity) measures physiological parameters that are experienced in association with pain; Sixth factor(Thoughts of Disease Progression) measures thoughts regarding the etiology and progression of disease in relation to pain. 150 patients that were consist of 40 male and 110 female were participated in this study. The obtained results of this study were as follows : 1. Environmental influences and loss of control scales were recorded high score in patients with chronic orofacial pain 2. "Physician's descriptions of what your pain will be like" and "Physician's facial expression when they ask about your pain" items from the environmental influences were recorded high score. These results indicated that responsibility of doctro is very important to the pain reaction behavior of patients. Also, items from thoughts regarding the etiology and progression of disease in relation to pain influenced to the pain reaction. 3. There were significant defferences on the "nurses' descriptions of what you pain will be like", "physician's and nurses' facial expression when they ask about your pain", "TV and radio", and "Literature" items from the environmental influences between male and female patients. 4. There were no significant differences on the each scale between arthrogenous and combitnation group and significant correlated with all 6 scales.
