Effect of Task-Oriented Bilateral Movements on Arm Global Synkinesis and Activities of Daily Living in Patients with Stroke

  • Background: Stroke patients exhibit arm global synkinesis (GS), involuntary movement due to muscle weakness and irregular muscle tension. But currently there are few studies examined the effects of GS on activates of daily living in stroke patients. Objectives: To investigate the effects the effects of task-oriented bilateral movements, which promote brain plasticity and are based on neurological theory, using the unaffected arm and the affected arm. Design: Quasi-randomized trial. Methods: Twenty stroke patients were randomly assigned to experimental group I (n=10) and experimental group II (n=10). Before the intervention, arm GS was measured using surface electromyography, and the Motor Activity Log evaluated the quantitative and qualitative uses of the affected arm in daily life. The same items were measured four weeks later. Results: The changes in the GS of the arm of experimental group I showed statistically significant differences only in bending motions (P<.05). Both groups showed statistically significant differences in the amount of use (AOU) and the quality of movement (QOM) scores (P<.01). Comparing the groups, statistically significant differences in GS appeared during bending motions (P<.05), and in the AOU (P<.01) and the QOM scores (P<.05). Conclusion: The intervention in GS reduced the abnormal muscle tension of the affected side by increasing the use of the ipsilateral motor pathway, indicating its effectiveness in improving upper limb functions with smooth contraction and relaxation of the muscles.

  • 최근 대부분의 가정에서 자식을 하나만 나아서 기르는 저출산 시대가 왔다. 이에 따라 부모들은 태어나면서부터 아이에게 지대한 관심을 가지게 되고, 헬스케어(Healthcare) 분야가 새로운 성장산업으로 부상하면서 (베이비 케어)Baby Care에 대한 관심 또한 높아졌다. 지금까지의 Baby Care 제품은 식품, 목욕용품 그리고 의복 등에서 발전을 해 왔지만 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경의 발달과 헬스케어산업의 발달과 함께 Baby Care 전자 제품 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 유럽이나 미국 등에서는 유아를 다른 방에서 키운다. 이때 유아가 돌연사하는 현상이 종종 일어나는데 이를 예방하기 위해서 유아의 상태를 측정하고, 부모가 유아에게 떨어져 있어도 유아의 상태를 확인할 수 있는 Platform를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 라디오 주파수를 이용하여 데이터 저장 없이 부모의 실시간 관찰에 의해서만 판단했던 시스템을 고속의 ARM11 기반의 S3C6410 CPU를 이용하고, 무선 WI-FI(IEEE8.2.11)기술을 활용한 유아 돌연사 방지 Platform구현에 대한 연구를 진행하였다.

  • The study on dual arm robot manipulator which consists of two 6-DOF srms and one 2-DOF torso is introduced. This dual arm robot manipulator is designed for automation of assembly process in automotive manufacturing line. Each industrial 6-DOF arm can be used as a stand-alone type of industrial robot manipulator with 6-DOF and as a manipulator part of dual arm robot at the same lime. These structures help the robot maker willing to succeed in emerging market of dual arm robots have the high competitive power for the current industrial robot market and the emerging market of dual arm robot at the same time. The research results of the design concept, workspace analysis and the PC-based controller will be introduced.

팔 동작에 따른 소매유무별 블라우스의 착의 공극량 변화 (A Change of the Gap in Dressed Blouses with Above-elbow Sleeves and Sleeveless According to Arm Movements)

  • The experiment is designed to create some useful data on the dressed shapes that contribute to simulating the adaptability of clothes. We studied the dressed shapes of blouse with above-elbow sleeves and sleeveless according to five types of arm movement (basic posture, reach forward 45, 90, and reach lateral 45, 90) in the stand-posture. Experiments were conducted to understand the dressed shape through 3-D measurement Vivid 910 and to investigate the width, depth, area distribution and gap of the shape of blouses on the section map with a software program for 3-D shape analysis, Rapid Form 2004. The Data were analyzed by factor analysis. The results of this study are as follows: The ratio of depth per width in the stand-posture was lower than other arm movements and the reach lateral was higher than the reach forward. The gap of the upper body was a briefed 4 factor; front, front-side, back, and back-side. It was higher than the sleeveless with a change of the gap in the dressed blouse with above-elbow sleeves by arm movements per stand-posture. The divisional gap shows the adaptability of clothes according to the types of blouse and arm movements in the change of the ratio.

신체동작과 의복여유분에 따른 의복압에 대한 탐색적 연구 -견갑골$\cdot$상지를 중심으로- (A Study on the Clothing Pressure variation according to arm movement and ease of basic pattern)

  • The objectives of this study were: 1. To investigate the relationship between arm movement and clothing pressure in the upper arm and shoulder blade area. 2. To find out the relationship between ease of basic pattern and clothing pressure in the upper arm and shoulder blade area. 3. To study any interaction between arm movement and ease of clothing on the clothing pressure. This study was an experimental research using the measuring devices of clothing pressure. The subjects were the unmarried college women. Arm movements were 3 types($45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$) to the horizontal direction. The ease of basic pattern in the breast was 3 types(4 cm, 6 cm, 8cm). The statistical analyses used in this study included mean, standard deviation and one-way analysis of variance. The results obtained from this research were as follows; 1. The whole clothing pressure increased as the angle of the arm movement increased. Part of upperarm and shoulder blade above axillar gave high clothing pressure while part of upperarm and shoulder blade above upper breast, low pressure. Difference between highest clothing pressure and lowest clothing pressure increased as the arm movementdid. 2. The whole clothing pressure increased as the ease of the basic pattern in breast decreased. No matter how the ease of basic pattern in the breast area varied, the Points where generally showed high and low pressure were identical. 3. The whole arm pressure increased as the movement angle increased and the ease of pattern in breast area decreased. Difference between highest clothing pressure and lowest clothing pressure increased as the movement angle increased and the ease decreased.

C-arm 각도 변화에 따른 피폭선량 비교 (Comparison of Exposure dose according to the C-arm Angle Change)

  • 본 연구는 C-arm의 각도 변화에 따라 술자의 피폭선량의 변화를 알아보고자 시행 하였다. 실험방법은 101kvp, 4.9mA로 고정하고 조사시간을 3초와 5초로 나누어 시행 하였으며 C-arm Tube를 under와 over로 위치시켜 각각 -30도에서 0, 30, 60, 90도로 변화를 주어 5회 측정하여 평균값을 구하였다. 검출기는 C-arm을 조작하는 방사선사의 위치에서 지면으로부터 160cm의 높이에서 측정하였다. 결과는 -30도에서 측정치가 가장 높았고 0, 30, 60, 90도 순으로 낮았으며 under보다 over tube 방식에서 높았다. 그러므로 방사선사의 피폭선량 저감을 위해서는 over tube 방식보다는 under tube 방식을 사용하고 각도에 변화를 줄 때에는 tube가 술자로부터 멀어지는 각도를 사용하고 가능하다면 조사시간을 단축하는 것이 같은 영상을 만들 수 있으면서도 피폭을 줄일 수 있는 방안이다.

Effects of Reciprocal Inhibition Using Thera-band on Scapular Muscle Activities During Arm-lifting Exercises in Subjects with Rounded Shoulder Posture

  • PURPOSE: Excessive activity of the upper trapezius (UT) muscle contributes to a rounded shoulder posture (RSP) through abnormal rotation of the scapula that weakens the lower trapezius (LT) and serratus anterior (SA) muscles. This study compared the effects of two arm-lifting exercises with and without the use of a Thera-band on the activities of LT, SA, and UT muscles, and the LT/UT and SA/UT activity ratio in subjects with a rounded shoulder posture. METHODS: Sixteen subjects with RSP participated in this study. All subjects performed arm-lifting (AL), diagonal arm-lifting (DAL), arm lifting with isometric adduction (ALIA), and diagonal arm-lifting with isometric adduction (DALIA) exercises. The surface electromyography data, LT, SA, UT, and the LT/UT and SA/UT activity ratios were measured. A paired t-test was used to compare the differences between two arm-lifting exercises and two arm lifting with isometric adduction exercises. RESULTS: In ALIA and DALIA exercises, the UT muscle activity decreased significantly, whereas the LT/UT, SA/UT activity ratio increased significantly. The activity of SA muscle increased significantly more with DALIA than that with DAL. CONCLUSION: Arm-lifting exercises using a Thera-band can be implemented as an effective way to reduce the UT overactivity and increase the SA activity and LT/UT, SA/UT activity ratio in subjects with RSP.

팔 흔들기가 정상인의 보행에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Arm Swing on Gait in Healthy Adults)

  • 본 연구는 정상 성인의 팔 흔들기 종류에 따른 보행 시 운동역학적인 변화를 알아보기 위해서 실시하였다. 정상 성인 대학생 45명을 대상으로 정상 팔 흔들기, 한 팔 흔들기, 두 팔 움직임 없음 보행, 인위적인 팔 흔들기의 4가지 팔 흔들기 종류에 따라 실험을 진행하였다. 이들의 운동역학적인 변화를 알아보기 위해 3차원적 관절 운동역학적 변화 검사인 6-camera Vicon MX motion analysis system을 통해 보행 변수를 측정하였다. 팔 흔들기에 따른 운동역학적인 매개 변수들인 각 관절에서 보행속도, 엉덩관절 일률, 말기 디딤기의 수직 지면반발력에서 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 이러한 연구결과는 팔 흔들기 종류에 따라서 정상인과 환자들의 치료와 평가를 위한 지침으로서 임상에서 사용할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

자동차용 컨트롤암의 내구성능 평가 (Durability Evaluation of Automobile Control Arm)

  • Control arm is the structural component that pivots on two places. One end of the control arm is attached to the body frame and the other end is attached to the steering knuckle. The former research proposed the structural design by applying optimization technique with aluminum alloy. This study suggests a durability test method on the developed upper control arm to validate the analysis results. The durability analysis results of the developed control arm by using MSC Fatigue is confirmed to be close to infinite life. The weak model of developed control arm which occurs to finite life is made to perform the durability test and the zig design is developed in this process.

  • 스마트 시대가 도래함에 따라 스마트 기기의 사용이 점차 늘고 있다. 스마트 기기는 인류의 편의를 제공하여 널리 사용하고 있지만 정보가 노출될 위험이 존재한다. 이러한 문제를 보안하기 위해 스마트 기기는 자체적으로 다양한 암호 알고리즘이 포함되어 있다. 이 중 해시함수는 데이터 무결성, 인증, 서명 등의 알고리즘을 수행하기 위해 필수적으로 사용되는 암호 알고리즘이다. 최근 SHA-1의 충돌 저항성에 문제가 제기되면서 안전성에 문제가 생기게 되었고 SHA-1을 기반으로 한 현재 표준 해시함수인 SHA-2 또한 머지않아 안전성에 문제가 생길 것이다. 이에 따라 2012년 NIST는 KECCAK알고리즘을 새로운 해시함수 표준인 SHA-3로 선정하였고 이 알고리즘에 대한 다양한 환경에서의 구현이 필요해졌다. 본 논문에서는 SHA-3로 선정된 KECCAK 알고리즘과 기존의 해시 함수인 SHA-2를 ARM-11 프로세서에 구현하고 성능을 비교 분석하여 시사점을 도출하였다.
