A Study on the implementation of a Portable Http Live Streaming Transmitter (휴대용 Http 라이브 스트리밍 전송기 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this Paper, We proposed the HLS(Http Live Streaming) transmitter which is operated easily and cheap in all networks and client environments compared to the exist video live streaming transmitter. We analyzed the HLS protocol and then implemented for making the HLS transmitter cheaper and portable. After designing the HLS transmitter hardware using the RISC processor of Arm11 core, we ported the Linux Operating System and implemented the HLS protocol using the open source FFmpeg and Segmenter. For the performance evaluation of the developed HLS transmitter, we made the testing environment which is including the notebook, iPhone, and aroid Phone. In this testing environment, we analysed the received video data at the client displayer. As a results of the performance evaluation, we could certify that the proposed HLS transmitter has a higher performance than the Apple company's HLS.

  • PDA와 같은 이동단말에서 화려한 3D 그래픽을 보여주는 것은 그래픽 시스템 리소스의 제약이 있다. Mobile 3D 엔진은 모델의 움직임을 계산하여 동적으로 3D 그래픽을 만들어 내기 때문에 그래픽 시스템 뿐만 아니라, 충분한 성능의 프로세서와 여유의 메모리까지 지원되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 Mobile 3D 엔진의 제약 사항과 그 해결 방법을 제시하였다. ARM9 Core를 기반으로 3D 가속 기능을 가진 VRender3D에 실제로 OpenGL/ES를 기반으로 하는 Mobile 3D 엔진을 포팅 (porting) 하고, 그 성능을 동적인 3D 영상으로 평가하였다.

  • This paper describes a scheme of motor control for Quadcopter with Android phone instead of a dedicated controller. Basically, user's requests (channel and speed) are inquired and transferred to the Quadcopter with Android phone, then the embedded Linux system receives them and controls the motor speed of corresponding channel. We have designed and implemented an App. for user interface and the modules of device driver and timer ISR for the motor control. Finally, we have up-loaded the App. and the modules to an Android (ver.4.0) phone and ARM processor (S3C6410)-based embedded board respectively, and reviewed the functional correctness by testing the motor control of Quadcopter.

  • This paper is based on embedding the biometrics techniques on GPU for better computational efficiency and fast matching process using the parallel nature of the GPU processors to compare thousands of images for fingerprint recognition in a fraction of a second. In this paper we worked on GPU (INVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 with compute capability 1.3 and dual core-2-dou processor) for fingerprint matching and found that the efficiency is better than the results with related work already done on CMOS, CPU, ARM9, MATLAB Neural Networks etc which shows the better performance of our system in terms of computational time. The features matching process proposed for fingerprint recognition and the verification procedure is done on 5,000 images which are available online in the databases FVC2000, 2002, 2004 [1].

  • 본 논문에서는 고속의 멀티미디어 Streaming data를 처리하기 위한 DSP 기반의 플랫폼을 설계하였다. 개발한 하드웨어는 오디오/비디오 데이터를 처리하는데 있어서 유연성과 확장성을 부여하기위하여 DSP를 사용하였으며 기존의 DSP플랫폼과 다르게 PC에 의존하지않는 독립적인 H/W를 만들기 위하여 ARM Processor를 사용하였다. 이는 저해상도, 저비트율의 오디오/비디오가 분리된 형태의 플랫폼이아닌 DSP기반의 독립적인 유연 플랫폼 구조를 통하여 고속, 고해상도를 가능하게 한다. LAN을 통하여 전송받은 Streaming data는 PCI Interface를 이용하여 DSP로 전달되며 디코딩되어 출력된다.

  • In this paper, image detection and recognition algorithms are studied with respect to embedded carrier system. There are many suggested techniques to detect and recognize objects. But they have the propensity to need much calculation for high hit rate. Advanced and modified method needs to study for embedded systems that low power consumption and real time response are requested. The proposed methods were implemented using Intel(R) Open Source Computer Vision Library provided by Intel Corporation. And they run and tested on embedded system using a ARM920T processor by cross-compiling. They showed 1.6sec response time and 95% hit rate and supported the automated moving carrier system smoothly.

  • A single-phase uninterruptible power supply system equipped with a superconducting magnet energy storage unit is proposed to achieve a simple circuit configuration and higher system reliability. It reduces a number of switching devices by applying a common-arm scheme. Removing some switches or substituting passive elements for active switches can increase the sophistication and reduces degree of freedom in control strategy. However, high-performance DSP controller can execute the complicated control task with no additional cost. Operational principles to normal, stored-energy, and bypass mode are discussed in detail. The validity of the proposed system is verified by experimental results.

  • In this paper, an error prediction system for the distribution feeders is designed and implemented. In order to monitor the signals of voltages, currents, temperatures, and sounds, and then analyze the signals, an ARM9-based processor board is used and numerous programmable gain amplifiers, temperature sensors, filters are implemented based on a low single voltage system.

  • 이 논문은 빠른 ASIP(application specific instruction processor) 시뮬레이션을 위한 재적응성을 가진 컴파일드 시뮬레이션 기법에 대해 이야기 한다. 다양한 응용분야에서의 설계 요구사항을 충족시키는 ASIP의 빠른 개발을 위해서, 건전한 설계 방법론 및 고성능의 시뮬레이터가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 HiX$R^2$라는 ADL(architecture description language)을 이용하여 인스트럭션 수준에서 컴파일드 시뮬레이터를 자동 생성하였다. 컴파일드 시뮬레이션은 시뮬레이션 수행 시 반복되는 인스트럭션 페칭 및 디코딩 부분을 시뮬레이션 런-타임 이전에 미리 수행함으로서 일반적으로 사용되는 인터프리티브 시뮬레이션에 비하여 큰 성능향상을 얻을 수 있다. HiX$R^2$에 기반 한 컴파일드 시뮬레이션은 ARM9 프로세서와 CalmRISC32 프로세서 예제들로 수행하였고, 결과로서 인터프리티브 방식에 비해 150배 이상의 성능향상이 있었다.

  • This paper presents a new structure of MPEG-4 AAC encoder. The proposed encoder directly shapes quantization noise distribution according to the energy distribution curve and thereafter performs adjustment of the offset level of the noise distribution to meet the given bit rate. The direct noise shaping and the bit rate matching scheme of the proposed encoder algorithm significantly alleviate the problem of conventional encoder's processing burden related with the employment of the precise psychoacoustic model and iteration intensive quantizer. The encoder algorithm is implemented on ARM processor with fixed-feint arithmetic operations. The audio quality of the implemented system is observed comparable to those of commercially available encoders, white the complexity of the implementation is drastically reduced in comparison to the conventional encoder systems.
