  • Most of the car navigation systems pzrovide 2D or 3D virtual map-based driving guidance. One of the important issues is how to reduce cognitive burden to the driver who should interpret the abstracted information to real world driving information. Recently, an augmented reality (AR)-based navigation is considered as a new way to reduce cognitive workload by superimposing guidance information into the real world scene captured by the camera. In particular, head-up display (HUD) is popular to implement AR navigation. However, HUD is too expensive to be set up in most cars so that the HUD-based AR navigation is currently unrealistic for navigational assistance. Meanwhile, smartphones with advanced computing capability and various sensors are popularized and also provide navigational assistance. This paper presents a research on cognitive effect and responsiveness of an AR navigation by a comparative study with a conventional virtual map-based navigation on the same smartphone. This paper experimented both quantitative and qualitative studies to compare cognitive workload and responsiveness, respectively. The number of eye gazing at the navigation system is used to measure the cognitive effect. In addition, questionnaires are used for qualitative analysis of the responsiveness.

  • In this study, real-time character navigation using AR lens developed by Nreal is developed. Real-time character navigation is not possible with general marker-based AR because NPC characters must guide while moving in an unspecified space. To replace this, a markerless AR system was developed using Digital Twin technology. Existing markerless AR is operated based on hardware such as GPS, gyroscope, and magnetic sensor, so location accuracy is low and processing time in the system is long, which results low reliability in real-time AR environment. In order to solve this problem, using the SLAM technique to construct a space into a 3D object and to construct a markerless AR based on point location, AR can be implemented without any hardware intervention in a real-time AR environment. This real-time AR environment configuration made it possible to implement a navigation system using characters in tourist attractions such as Suncheon Bay Garden and Suncheon Drama Filming Site.

  • In the era of autonomous ships, artificial intelligence technology will be able to provide a more advanced immersive experience by combining AR and VR. Immersion technology can provide a real-like experience and sensibility by dazzling the five senses of the user. In autonomous operation through VR or AR, it is necessary to provide a natural environment in which seafarers can immerse themselves in navigation and interact with virtual ships. In this study, in preparation for the era of autonomous ships, what are the key characteristics that seafarer can realize immersive user experience during autonomous navigation through VR or AR.

  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has recognized that systemic consideration and research associated with human elements for the safe navigation of ships were required. The usability of navigational equipments based on user demands becomes a significant issue on the e-navigation field. Although many assessment and evaluation methods of usability has introduced in various fields, there is room for improvement. To this end, the primary objective of this paper is to propose a new checklist to the usability assessment of the AR-based navigation information system.

  • A variety of methods for indoor positioning systems have been underway to ensure the safety of emergency rescuers who are working in dangerous situations such as fire fighters. However, since most systems display locations of rescue workers in two-dimension (2D)-based maps, it is difficult for a commander located in the outside to recognize locations of rescuers inside the building intuitively. An augmented reality (AR)-based indoor positioning monitoring system can display locations of rescuer inside the building that can be seen by commanders to help intuitive recognition of positioning. To monitor AR-based indoor positioning, it is necessary to have an estimation technique of line of sight vector of observers. In the present study, an estimation technique of a line of sight vector using ultra-wide band tranceiver installed inside the indoor to trace locations is presented.

  • Smart phone based navigation applications are very useful in everyday life. Cost-effective and user friendly navigation can be provided to the user by many applications available in market. Using the Smart phone these navigation applications provide accurate navigation for outdoor locations. But providing an accurate navigation underground space such as subway station is still a challenge. It is hence more convenient and appropriate for mobility services if the visitors could simply view the guidance of the subway station on their mobile phone, wherever and whenever it is needed. This study develops a algorithm for indoor navigation with the help of Augmented Reality(AR) and QR marker code from the entrance to the train platform for users. This indoor navigation uses AR and QR maker codes for two purposes: to provide the user link to the subway station location and to provide the current guidance details to the user. This Smart phone algorithm that uses a smart phone optical tool to decode the QR marker to determine the location information and provide guidance to the AR without indoor Maps. This algorithm also provides a module to guide mobility vulnerable to the Barrier Free route to destination.

이 논문에서는 AR(Autoregressive) 모델과 ARX(AR with eXogenous) 모델을 이용하여 부유체에 발생하는 진동 모델링에 관해서 기술한다.

  • Ferroelectric YMnO$_3$thin films are excellent dielectric materials for high integrated ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) with metal-ferroelectric-silicon field effect transistor (MFSFET) structure. In this study, YMnO$_3$thin films were etched with Cl$_2$/Ar gas chemistries in inductively coupled plasma (ICP). The maximum etch rate of YMnO$_3$thin films is 285 $\AA$/min under Cl$_2$/Ar of 10/0, 600 W/-200 V and 15 mTorr. The selectivities of YMnO$_3$over CeO$_2$and $Y_2$O$_3$are 2.85, 1.72, respectively. The results of x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) reflect that Y is removed dominantly by chemical reaction between Y and Cl, while Mn is removed more effective by Ar ion bombardment than chemical reaction. The results of secondary ion mass spectrometer (SIMS) were equal to these of XPS. The etch profile of the etched YMnO$_3$film is approximately 65$^{\circ}$and free of residues at the sidewall.

  • High dielectric (Ba,Sr)TiO$_3$thin films were etched in an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) as a function of C1$_2$/Ar gas mixing ratio. Under Cl$_2$(20)/Ar(80), the maximum etch rate of the BST films was 400$\AA$/min and selectivities of BST to Pt and PR were obtained 0.4 and 0.2, respectively. We investigated the etched surface of BST by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD). From the result of XPS analysis, we found that residues of Ba-Cl and Ti-Cl bonds remained on the surface of the etched BST for high boiling point. The surface roughness decreased as Cl$_2$increases in C1$_2$/Ar plasma because of non-volatile etching products. This changed the nature of the crystallinity of BST. From the result of XRD analysis, the crystallinity of etched BST film maintained as similar to as-deposited BST under Ar only and Cl$_2$(20)/Ar(80). However, (100) orientation intensity of etched BST film abruptly decreased at Cl$_2$only plasma. It was caused that Cl compounds were redeposited on the etched BST surface and damaged to crystallinity of BST film during the etch process.
