In this paper, anti-reflection coating was investigated for decreasing the reflection in visible range of 400~650 [nm] through four staked layers of $Si_xO_y$ and $Si_xN_y$ thin films prepared by reactive sputtering method. Si single crystal of 6 [inch] diameter was used as a sputtering target. Ar and $O_2$ gases were used as sputtering gases for reactive sputtering for the $Si_xO_y$ thin film, and Ar and $N_2$ gases were used for reactive sputtering for the $Si_xN_y$ thin film. DC pulse power of 1900 [W] was used for the reactive sputtering. Refractive index and deposition rate were 1.50 and 2.3 [nm/sec] for the $Si_xO_y$, and 1.94 and 1.8 [nm/sec] for the $Si_xN_y$ thin film, respectively. Considering the simulation of the four layer anti-reflection coating structure with the above mentioned films, the $Si_xO_y-Si_xN_y$ stacked four-layer structure was prepared. The reflection measurement result for that structure showed that a "W" shaped anti-reflection was obtained successfully with a reflection of 1.7 [%] at 550 [nm] region and a reflection of 1 [%] at 400~650 [nm] range.

Anti-reflection (AR) thin films were fabricated on a glass substrate by using an ultrasonic spray. Glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) were used to synthesize a sol-gel hybrid coating solution. The moving speed of spray nozzle was changed from 15~25 mm/s to control the coating thickness of AR thin film. As the moving speed of spray nozzle increased, the thickness of AR thin film decreased from 138 nm to 86 nm. When the AR thin film was fabricated by nozzle moving speed of 20 mm/s, the refractive index and thickness of AR thin film was measured to be 1.31 and 104 nm, respectively. The average reflectance and transmittance of AR thin film coating glass was measured to be 0.75 % and 94 %, respectively into the visible light range of 380~780 nm.
The tensile properties of short nylon6 fiber reinforced NR and SBR have been investigated as functions of fiber aspect ratio(AR), diameter ratio(DR), interphase condition, and fiber content. The tensile strength increased with increasing fiber AR(20 min.) and good interphase conditions. The short-fiber(DR=3 and AR=20 min.) reinforced SBR did not show the dilution effect for all interrhase conditions. And the short-fiber(DR=3 and AR=20min.) reinforced NR did not show the dilution effect except for the no-coating. The tensile moduli were significantly improved due to fiber AR. fiber content, and good interphase at same DR. The better interphase condition showed the higher pull-out force at same DR. Also, the stress analysis near the fiber end carried out using axisymmetric FEA to be convinced of the reinforcing mechanism. It is found that the fiber AR, interphase and DR have an important effect on tensile properties.

Yb2Si2O7 has a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to that of the base material of SiC and has excellent corrosion resistance in a high-temperature oxidizing atmosphere including water vapor, so it is being studied as one of the materials for environmental barrier coatings (EBCs). In this study, Yb2Si2O7 powder granule is deposited using atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) with different Ar/He ratios. Phase formation and microstructural characteristics are investigated with the coated specimens. In the coating layer, the crystallinity decreased, and the amorphous content increased from an increase in the ratio of Ar. In addition, the various types of particles involved by local volatilization of Si according to the Ar/He ratios were identified.
As the development of ultrahigh power laser system, the laser mirrors must require high-resistant and effectively cooled. So, the study for the optical multilayer systems having large thermal diffusivity become important. In this study, we designed and fabricated two-layer anti-reflection (AR) optical coating samples, in different evaporation conditions of coating speeds (10, 20 $\AA$/s) and substrate temperatures (50, 100, 150, 20$0^{\circ}C$), using two dielectric materials $MgF_2$ and ZnS which have different refractive indices and measured the through-plane thermal diffusivity by using photoacoustic effect. The optical thicknesses of $MgF_2$ and ZnS layer were fixed as 5/4λ (λ=514.5nm) and λ, respectively, and the thermal diffusivity of the samples fabricated in the different conditions was obtained from the measured amplitude of photoacoustic signals by changing chopping frequency of $Ar^+$ layer beam. The results told us that the thermal diffusivity of the sample fabricated in the condition of 10 $\AA$/s and 15$0^{\circ}C$ showed the largest value.

We fabricated durable anti-reflective(AR) layer with silica globular coating on polymer by two steps. Firstly, nano-protrusions of polymer were formed by plasma etching known as R.I.E(reactive ion etching) process. Secondly, silica globular coating was deposited on polymer nano-protrusions for mechanically protective and optically enhancing AR layers by RF magnetron sputter. And then durable antireflective polymers were synthesized adjusting plasma power and time, working pressures of RIE and RF sputtering processes. Consequently, we acquired the average transmission (94.10%) in the visible spectral range 400-800 nm and the durability of AR layer was verified to sustain its transmission until 5,000 numbers by rubber test at a load of 500 gf.
Titanium dioxide antireflection (AR) Coating, which is deposited on Si substrates using an organotitanium solution by the spinning technique, has been studied. The coated films on Si substrates were subsequently heated to $450^{\circ}C$. The thickness and index of refraction of films were varied continuousely from $740{\AA}$ to $1380{\AA}$ and from 1.7 to 2.1 respectively as a function of heat treatment temperature and time. Silicon solar cells AR-coated by the spinning technique showed as much as 31% improvement in conversion efficiency over the uncoated cell.

This paper compares and calculates more precisely the averaged reflectance of antireflection coating with different structure of single and 6 layer assuming the incident angle of light changing from $8^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$ not like normal incidence as usual case. The reflectivity of AR coating of 6 layers with 180 nm thickness having index profile suggested as linear and quintic function and single layer with same thickness having even index are calculated and compared, when the wavelength of incident light ranges from 400 nm to 1200 nm. As the results the AR coating with 6 layers having quintic(linear) function index profile shows the lower reflectance about 11.6 %(14.6 %) than other index profiles, which is approximately 8 % lower reflectance compared with single layer case(about 19.6 %). This results could be applied for the better antireflection coating design applying to optical devices and filters.

This paper describes an efficiency improvement of buried contact solar cell (BSCS) with a structure of MgF$_2$/CeO$_2$/Ag/Cu/Ni grid/n$^{+}$ emitter/p-type Si base/p$^{+}$/Al. Theoretical and experimental investigations were performed on a double layer antireflection (DLAR) coating of MgF$_2$/CeO$_2$. We investigated CeO$_2$ films as an AR layer because they have a proper refractive index of 2.46 and demonstrate the same lattice constant as Si substrate. An optimized DLAR coating shewed a reflectance as low as 2.04 % in the wavelengths ranged from 0.4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 1.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. BCSC cell efficiency was improved from 16.2 % without any AR coating to 19.9 % by employing DLAR coatings. Further details on MgF$_2$/CeO$_2$ DLAR coatings on the BCSC cells are presented in this paper.per.
Boron carbide thin coatings were deposited on silicon wafers by DC magnetron sputtering using a ${B}_4$C target with Ar as processing gas. Various amounts of methane gas (${CH}_4$) were added in the deposition process to better understand their influence on tribological properties of the coatings. Reciprocating wear tests employing an oscillating friction wear tester were performed to investigate the tribological behaviors of the coatings in ambient environment. The chemical characteristics of the coatings and worn surfaces were studied using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES). It revealed that ${CH}_4$addition to Ar processing gas strongly affected the tribologcal properties of sputtered boron carbide coating. The coefficient of friction was reduced approximately from 0.4 to 0.1, and wear resistance was improved considerably by increasing the ratio of ${CH}_4$gas component from 0 to 1.2 vol %. By adding a sufficient amount of ${CH}_4$(1.2 %) in the deposition process, the boron carbide coating exhibited lowest friction and highest wear resistance.
