  • The Korean e-Navigation operating system is designed to provide various services related to marine safety. These services are not configured to be provided in one software, but are made in separate software. In order to integrate the service software installed in the e-Navigation operating system, it is necessary to define the data message which can exchange data between the service software, Depending on the operating concept of the service, many messages are expected to be transmitted over the network in a short time. There is a need for a buffer or message queue to store messages as a way to manage messages efficiently. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the types and characteristics of Advanced Message Queuing Protocol(AMQP) suitable for Korean e-Navigation operating system and shows that's result.

  • The technological advancements of the last two decades directed the era of the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT enables billions of devices to connect through the internet and share their information and resources on a global level. These devices can be anything, from smartphones to embedded sensors. The main purpose of IoT is to make devices capable of achieving the desired goal with minimal to no human intervention. Although it hascome as a social and economic blessing, it still brought forward many security risks. This paper focuses on providing a survey of the most commonly used application layer protocols in the IoT domain, namely, Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP), Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP), and Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP). MQTT, AMQP, and XMPP use TCP for device-to-device communication, while CoAP utilizes UDP to achieve this purpose. MQTT and AMQP are based on a publish/subscribe model, CoAP uses the request/reply model for its structuring. In addition to this, the quality of service provision of MQTT, AMQP, and CoAP is not very high, especially when the deliverance of messages is concerned. The selection of protocols for each application is very a tedious task. This survey discusses the architectures, advantages, disadvantages, and applications of each of these protocols. The main contribution of this work is to describe each of the aforementioned application protocols in detail as well as providing their thorough comparative analysis. This survey will be helpful to the developers in selecting the protocol ideal for their system and/or application.

  • In this paper, we analyze and compare the performance of different publish and subscribe protocols in the real application environment. This paper provides a horizontal comparison of current publish/subscribe protocols in terms of security, throughput, and delay performance. Thanks to the use of lightweight frameworks, the MQTT protocol has demonstrated excellent performance in terms of delay performance. However, the AMQP protocol has more advantages in security and throughput. Although the REST/HTTP protocol has the worst delay performance, it is excellent in terms of compatibility because it is based on the HTTP protocol.

  • There are many types of power facilities such as transformers, switches, and energy storage devices in the micro grid environment. However, with the development of IoT technology, opportunities to acquire sensor information such as temperature, pressure, and humidity are provided. In the existing micro grid environment, the communication protocols such as MMS transport protocol in IEC 61850 standard is applied in accordance with the integrated operation between the power facilities and the platform. Therefore, to accommodate IoT data, a gateway technology that can link IoT data to a data collection device (FEP) based on IEC 61850 is required. In this paper, we propose IEC 61850 based IoT gateway platform prototype for microgrid operating system linkage. The gateway platform consists of an IoT protocol interface module (MQTT, CoAP, AMQP) and database, IEC 61850 server. For databases, We used open source based NoSQL databases, Hbase and MongoDB, to store JSON data. We verified the interoperability between the IoT protocol and the IEC 61850 protocol using Sisco's MMS EASY Lite.

  • OPC UA at the control and field level does not provide enough performance to replace the field bus. The OPC Foundation aims for a real-time and connection-less mechanism, and has added the OPC UA publish-subscribe model, a new specification that supports broker functions such as MQTT and AMQP, as the OPC UA Part 14 standard. This paper is about a gateway for interoperability between OPC UA publisher with the addition of OPC UA Part14 standard and DDS subscribers. Raspberry Pi 4 is used for the gateway proposed in this paper, and OpenDDS, an open source, is used for DDS. OPC UA publish-subscribe module used A-Open62541 publish-subscribe module, which additionally implements functions not provided by the corresponding source based on Open62541 publish-subscribe open source.

  • Micro-service Architecture is a service architecture optimized for large-scale distributed systems such as real-time realistic broadcasting systems, so that are fiercely adopted by Global leading service platform vendors such as Netflix and Twitter due to the merit of horizontal performance scalability enabling the scale-out technique. In addition, micro-service architecture makes it possible to execute image processing and real-time data analysis using an asynchronous-based processing that are difficult to handle in Web API such as REST. In this paper, an event stream processing framework applicable to asynchronous based micro services is proposed in the sense that the accountability of event processing order is not guaranteed in the events such as IoT sensor data analysis or cloud-based image editing because these are the situations where the real-time media editing generates multiple event streams and asynchronous processes in the platform.

  • The Local Volume Mapper(LVM) project in the fifth iteration of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-V) will produce large integral-field spectroscopic survey data to understand the physical conditions of the interstellar medium in the Milky Way, the Magellanic Clouds, and other local-volume galaxies. We are developing the LVM Instrument control software. The architecture design of the software follows a hierarchical structure in which the high-level software packages interact with the low-level and mid-level software and hardware components. We adopt the spiral software development model in which the software evolves by iteration of sequential processes, i.e., software requirement analysis, design, code generation, and testing. This spiral model ensures that even after being commissioned, the software can be revised according to new operational requirements. We designed the software by using the Unified Modeling Language, which can visualize functional interactions in structure diagrams. We plan to use the SDSS software framework CLU for the interaction between components, based on the RabbitMQ that implemented the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP).

  • The smart city is developing an energy system efficiently through a common management of the city resource for the growth and a low carbon social. However, the smart city doesn't counter a verification effectively about a anomaly pattern detection when existing security technology (authentication, integrity, confidentiality) is used by fixed security key and key deodorization according to generated big data. This paper is proposed the "security nonce generation based on security nonce generation" for anomaly pattern detection of the adversary and a safety of the key is high through the key generation of the KDC (Key Distribution Center; KDC) for improvement. The proposed scheme distributes the generated security nonce and authentication keys to each facilities system by the KDC. This proposed scheme can be enhanced to the security by doing the external pattern detection and changed new security key through distributed security nonce with keys. Therefore, this paper can do improving the security and a responsibility of the smart city platform management data through the anomaly pattern detection and the safety of the keys.
