저주파 혼변조 신호의 크기 조절에 의한 전치 왜곡 선형화기 설계 (A Design of Predistorter for Controlling the Amplitude of Low-Frequency IM Signals)

  • 본 논문에서는 저주파 혼변조 신호의 크기만을 조절하여 혼변조 신호를 제어하는 새로운 전치 왜곡 선형화기를 제안하였다. 이 방법은 고조파 발생기 출력에서 생성된 저주파 혼변조 신호를 주 신호와 진폭 변조시켜 혼변조 신호를 만들었으며, 저주파 가변 이득 조절기를 이용하여 혼변조 신호의 크기와 위상을 조절하였다. 제안한 전치 왜곡 선형화기는 국내 셀룰러 기지국 송신 주파수($869{\sim}894\;MHz$) 반송파 2 톤 신호를 전력 증폭기에 인가하여 입력 신호 레벨을 변화시켰을 때, 3차 혼변조 신호는 20 dB 이상 개선되었으며, IS-95 CDMA 1FA 신호입력 시에는 중심 주파수에서 ${\pm}885\;kHz$${\pm}1.25;MHz$ 이격 지점에서 인접 채널 전력 비(ACPR: Adjacent Channel Power Ratio)를 10 dB 이상 개선시켰다.

SALT FOG시 EPDM고분자애자의 누설전류파형과 스펙트럼분석 (Leakage Current Waveforms and Spectrum Analysis on Polymer Insulator of EPDM under Salt fog)

  • 본 연구에서는 EPDM 고분자애자의 염무량 변화(salt:l0g, 25g, 50g, deionized water: 1000g)에 따른 표면방전과 환경적인 변화(salt fog 및 clean fog 그리고 raim)에 대한 누설전류 파형의 결과를 알아보았다. 기본파 및 3고조파 그리고 5고조파의 변화양상을 과전초기로부터 섬락시에 이르기까지 나타내었다. 표면열화의 진단기법을 개발하기위해서 누설전류파형의 주파수 스펙트럼을 이용하였고, 고분자애자의 표면열화에대한 환경적인 영향(clean fog, salt fog, rain)을 연구 하였다. 염분량의 변화시 기본파에 대한 저주파 고조파인 3고조파 및 5고조파에 대한 백분율(왜곡도)의 변화를 이용하여 표면 열화상태 및 정도를 정량화(a standard capacity)하여 나타내었다. 기본파에 대한 고조파 백분율인 왜곡율은 고분자 애자의 표면조건을 평가하는데 필요한 지시자라는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

Structural and Morphological Changes of Co Nanoparticles and Au-10at.%Pd Thin Film Studied by in Situ Heating in a Transmission Electron Microscope

  • The microstructural changes in Co nanoparticles and an Au-10at.%Pd thin film have been investigated using an in situ heating holder with a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS). In Co nanoparticles, two phases (face-centered cubic and hexagonal close-packed crystal structures) were found to coexist at room temperature and microstructures at temperatures, higher than $1,000^{\circ}C$, were observed with a quick response time and significant stability. The actual temperature of each specimen was directly estimated from the changes in the lattice spacing (Bragg-peak separation). For the Au-10at.%Pd thin film, at a set temperature of $680^{\circ}C$, the actual temperature of the sample was estimated to be $1,020^{\circ}C{\pm}123^{\circ}C$. Note that the specimen temperature should be carefully evaluated because of the undesired effects, i.e., the temperature non-uniformity due to the sample design of the MEMS chip, and distortion due to thermal expansion.

A Correlative Approach for Identifying Complex Phases by Electron Backscatter Diffraction and Transmission Electron Microscopy

  • A new method was introduced to distinguish the ferrite, bainite and martensite in transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel by using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). EBSD is a very powerful microstructure analysis technique at the length scales ranging from tens of nanometers to millimeters. However, iron BCC phases such as ferrite, bainite and martensite cannot be easily distinguished by EBSD due to their similar surface morphology and crystallographic structure. Among the various EBSD-based methodology, image quality (IQ) values, which present the perfection of a crystal lattice, was used to distinguish the iron BCC phases. IQ values are very useful tools to discern the iron BCC phases because of their different density of crystal defect and lattice distortion. However, there are still remaining problems that make the separation of bainite and martensite difficult. For instance, these phases have very similar IQ values in many cases, especially in deformed region; therefore, even though the IQ value was used, it has been difficult to distinguish the bainite and martensite. For more precise separation of bainite and martensite, IQ threshold values were determined by a correlative TEM analysis. By determining the threshold values, iron BCC phases were successfully separated.

적응 모듈러스와 적응 스텝 크기를 이용한 Hybrid-SE-MMA 적응 등화기의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of Hybrid-SE-MMA Adaptive Equalizer using Adaptive Modulus and Adaptive Step Size)

  • 본 논문은 부호간 간섭을 최소화시킬 수 있는 SE-MMA 적응 등화기에서 adaptive modulus와 adaptive step size를 이용한 등화 성능을 개선할 수 있는 Hybrid-SE-MMA에 관한 것이다. 적응 등화를 위한 MMA 알고리즘에서는 오차 신호를 이용하여 등화기 탭 계수를 갱신하고, SE-MMA는 오차 신호의 부호만을 이용하므로 연산량을 단순화시킨 구조이다. 연산량을 단순화시킴으로서 수렴 속도와 알고리즘 처리 속도에서는 향상 효과를 얻을 수 있지만 등화 성능이 저하되는 한계를 단점이 있다. 논문에서는 등화기 출력 신호의 전력에 비례하는 적응 modulus와 적응 step size를 SE-MMA에 적용하므로서 등화 성능을 더욱 개선할 수 있음을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인한다. 개선된 등화 성능을 기존 SE-MMA와 비교하기 위하여 수신측에서의 등화기 출력 신호인 복원된 신호 성상도, 잔류 isi, MD (Maximum Distortion), MSE 및 외부 잡음에 대한 알고리즘의 강인성을 알 수 있는 SER 성능을 사용하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과 Hybrid-SE-MMA 알고리즘은 잔류 isi와 MD, MSE 및 SER등의 모든 성능 지수에서 SE-MMA 보다 개선됨을 알 수 있었다.

고압동결고정을 이용한 애기장대 줄기의 cryo-SEM 분석법 (Cryo-SEM Methodology of Arabidopsis thaliana Stem Using High-Pressure Freezing)

  • The scanning electron microscopy is an ideal technique for examining plant surface at high resolution. Most hydrate samples, however, must be fix and dehydrate for observation in the scanning electron microscope. Because the microscopes operate under high vacuum, most specimens, especially biological samples, cannot withstand water removal by the vacuum system without morphological distortion. Cryo-techniques can observe in their original morphology and structure without various artifacts from conventional sample preparation. Rapid cooling is the method of choice for preparing plant samples for scanning electron microscopy in a defined physiological state. As one of cryo-technique, high-pressure freezing allows for fixation of native non-pretreated samples up to $200{\mu}M$ thick and 2 mm wide with minimal or no ice crystal damage for the freezing procedure. In this study, we could design to optimize structural preservation and imaging by comparing cryo-SEM and convention SEM preparation, and observe a fine, well preserved Arabidopsis stem's inner ultrastructure using HPF and cryo-SEM. These results would suggest a useful method of cryo-preparation and cryo-SEM for plant tissues, especially intratubule and vacuole rich structure.

문학텍스트와 문학적 해석 -「스페인 문학사」를 통한 모델 연구 (Literary Text and the Cultural Interpretation - A Study of the Model of 「History of Spanish Literature」)

  • Instructing "History of Spanish Literature" class faces various types of limits and obstacles, just as other foreign language literature history classes do. Majority of students enter the university without having any previous spanish learning experience, which means, for them, even the interpretation of the text itself can be difficult. Moreover, the fact that "History of Spanish Literature" is traced all the way back to the Middle Age, students encounter even more difficulties and find factors that make them feel the class is not interesting. To list several, such factors include the embarrassment felt by the students, antiquated expressions, literature texts filled with deliberately broken grammars, explanations written in pretentious vocabularies, disorderly introduction of many different literary works that ignores the big picture, in which in return, reduces academic interest in students, and finally general lack of interest in literate itself due to the fact that the following generation is used to visual media. Although recognizing such problem that causes the distortion of the value of our lives and literature is a very imminent problem, there has not even been a primary discussion on such matter. Thus, the problem of what to teach in "History of Spanish Literature" class remains unsolved so far. Such problem includes wether to teach the history of authors and literature works, or the chronology of the text, the correlations, and what style of writing to teach first among many, and how to teach to read with criticism, and how to effectively utilize the limited class time to teach. However, unfortunately, there has not been any sorts of discussion among the insructors. I, as well, am not so proud of myself either when I question myself of how little and insufficiently did I contemplate about such problems. Living in the era so called the visual media era or the crisis of humanity studies, now there is a strong need to bring some change in the education of literature history. To suggest a solution to make such necessary change, I recommended to incorporate the visual media, the culture or custom that students are accustomed to, to the class. This solution is not only an attempt to introduce various fields to students, superseding the mere literature reserch area, but also the result that reflects the voice of students who come from a different cultural background and generation. Thus, what not to forget is that the bottom line of adopting a new teaching method is to increase the class participation of students and broaden the horizon of the Spanish literature. However, the ultimate goal of "History of Spanish Literature" class is the contemplation about humanity, not the progress in linguistic ability. Similarly, the ultimate goal of university education is to train students to become a successful member of the society. To achieve such goal, cultural approach to the literature text helps not only Spanish learning but also pragmatic education. Moreover, it helps to go beyond of what a mere functional person does. However, despite such optimistic expectations, foreign literature class has to face limits of eclecticism. As for the solution, as mentioned above, the method of teaching that mainly incorporates cultural text is a approach that fulfills the students with sensibility who live in the visual era. Second, it is a three-dimensional and sensible approach for the visual era, not an annotation that searches for any ambiguous vocabularies or metaphors. Third, it is the method that reduces the burdensome amount of reading. Fourth, it triggers interest in students including philosophical, sociocultural, and political ones. Such experience is expected to stimulate the intellectual curiosity in students and moreover motivates them to continues their study in graduate school, because it itself can be an interesting area of study.
