An Evaluation of Heat Transfer Characteristics of Individualized Fin Type Using Large Scale Model (확대모델을 이용한 특성화된 핀형상의 열전달평가)

  • In recent years, air-conditioning units designed with higher efficiency and more compactness are required due to emphasis on energy efficiency in home electrical appliances. This trend in the air-conditioning industries has accelerated the development of improved heat exchanger with a better performance in heat transfer aspects. In this study, experiments were performed to investigate the shape and configuration of fins affecting on the performance of the conventional fin-and-tube type heat exchanger equipped in a commercial air conditioners. The geometry similtude method was employed to measure the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. Experimental results show that this method is very useful to analyze the heat transfer characteristics of the fin-and-tube type heat exchanger. It is also found that the slit fin has better performance than the conventional fin type in the air conditioners. The present results indicate that heat transfer from the fin si influenced by the parameters such as the forming area of the slit fin, the type of interrupted surfaces like a louver or slit, slit patterns and slit raised direction, and it also affects the overall heat exchanger performance.

Fault Diagnosis Algorithm of an Air-conditioning System by using a Neural No-fault Model and a Dual Fuzzy Logic (신경망무고장모델과 이중퍼지로직을 사용한 냉방기 고장진단 알고리즘)

  • The fault diagnosis technologies may be applied in order to decrease the energy consumption and the maintenance cost of an air-conditioning system. In this paper, a fault diagnosis algorithm was developed by using a neural no-fault model and a dual fuzzy logic. Five different faults, such as the compressor valve leakage, the liquid line blockage, the condenser fouling, the evaporator fouling, and the refrigerant leakage of an air-conditioning system, were considered. The fault diagnosis algorithm was tested by using a fault simulation facility. Test results showed that the algorithm developed for this study was effective to detect and diagnose various faults. Therefore, this algorithm may be practically used for the fault diagnosis of an air-conditioning system.

  • Anti-Air Warfare(AAW) functionality of the naval combat system is the key functionality to ensure the ship's survivability. We have applied a novel method using model-based-simulation to analyze and design AAW functionality of the Patrol Killer Experimemnt Combat System. In this approach, an AAW functional model is described with the FSM(Finite State Machine) and directly executed for the AAW simulation. After prototyping using model based simulation, Hardware In Loop Simulation(HILS) is conducted as the AAW functionality is interfaced with the other ones of the combat system for completing the integration of the system components. This incremental and iterative development approach based on the model based simulation can minimize the development risks and costs caused by the system complexity for military system, bringing out the merit of the rapid prototyping.

  • This paper constructs a precise dynamics model using flightlab, a specialized program for rotor modeling and performance analysis, to simulate urban air mobility (UAM). flightlab is well-suited for detailed modeling of UAM, particularly requiring detailed aerodynamic characteristics under high-altitude and urban wind conditions. The study focuses on implementing and analyzing a lift-cruise UAM model with distributed propulsion using flightlab. The lift-cruise model integrates motors for vertical take-off and fixed-wing flight. Given the limited specific examples of such UAM models in flightlab and challenges in evaluating with conventional fixed-wing or drone models, this research implements and verifies the lift-cruise model using matlab, comparing its performance against flightlab results to validate the modeling approach. This research aims to explore the potential of flightlab for detailed UAM modeling and contribute to technological advancements in future urban transportation.

  • ISC3는 EPA가 권장하는 가우시안 대기확산 모델로서 일반적으로 공장 배출원으로 인한 일정 기간동안의 대기확산농도와 범위를 예측하기 위하여 사용되어진다. ISC3 모델은 다양한 점오염원, 면오염원, 등을 취급할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 building wake와 down wash 그리고 거리의 함수로써 final plum rise를 옵션으로 사용할 수 있고 단순지형이나 복합지형의 고려가 가능하다. ISC3 모델은 단순지형 장기모델인 ISCLT3와 복합지형 단기모델인 ISCST3가 있으며 모델의 수행에 있어 약간의 차이점이 있다. (중략)

  • We investigated statistical evaluation parameters for 3D meteorological and air quality models and selected several quantitative indicator references, and summarized the reference values of the statistical parameters for domestic air quality modeling researcher. The finally selected 9 statistical parameters are MB (Mean Bias), ME (Mean Error), MNB (Mean Normalized Bias Error), MNE (Mean Absolute Gross Error), RMSE (Root Mean Square Error), IOA (Index of Agreement), R (Correlation Coefficient), FE (Fractional Error), FB (Fractional Bias), and the associated reference values are summarized. The results showed that MB and ME have been widely used in evaluating the meteorological model output, and NMB and NME are most frequently used for air quality model results. In addition, discussed are the presentation diagrams such as Soccer Plot, Taylor diagram, and Q-Q (Quantile-Quantile) diagram. The current results from our study is expected to be effectively used as the statistical evaluation parameters suitable for situation in Korea considering various characteristics such as including the mountainous surface areas.

  • 현대 산업 사회의 급속한 발전으로 인해 대기 중에는 다양한 오염원을 통해서 많은 오염물질이 배출됨에 따라 이를 평가하고 방지할 대책이 필요하게 되었다. 이러한 대책 중의 하나로 배출원에서 배출되는 오염물질의 경로 및 발생량을 예측하는 방법이 있는데, 대기 상에 배출되는 오염물질의 농도를 예측할 경우 보통 대기 확산 모델링을 통하여 배출원 주변의 오염물질 확산 및 농도값을 산정한다. 현재 국내에서는 주로 가우시안 확산 모델인 ISC, CALPUFF 모델 등을 사용하여 모델링을 계산하게 된다. (중략)

  • A numerical of thermoacoustic refrigerators has been developed. Effects of heat transfer and viscosity on pressure and velocity distributions in resonators and heat exchangers were considered. Predictions of cooling capacity and COP agreed well with previous experimental results. Effects of important design parameters, such as pressure ratio, spacing between the plates in the stack and stack length, on the performance of thermoacoustic refrigerators were shown.
