Development of 1:1 customized Smartphone Education Application for the Elderly using Generative AI (생성형 AI를 활용한 1:1 맞춤형 노인 스마트폰 교육 어플리케이션 개발)

  • Local governments are conducting smartphone usage training for the elderly to bridge the information gap caused by a super-aged society. However, the one-to-many educational approach has limitations, and the elderly face difficulties due to insufficient learning effectiveness. This study proposes an educational service that can be used in offline training settings, considering an environment where the elderly can repeatedly learn to address these issues. This service utilizes generative AI to identify the parts that users find challenging and provides personalized problems for individualized practice. Integrating this app with existing local government training programs is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency of smartphone education in terms of personalized 1:1 training, time management, and the appropriateness of educational content.

Data Framework Design of EDISON 2.0 Digital Platform for Convergence Research

  • With improving computing performance, various digital platforms are being developed to enable easily utilization of high-performance computing environments. EDISON 1.0 is an online simulation platform widely used in computational science and engineering education. As the research paradigm changes, the demand for developing the EDISON 1.0 platform centered on simulation into the EDISON 2.0 platform centered on data and artificial intelligence is growing. Herein, a data framework, a core module for data-centric research on EDISON 2.0 digital platform, is proposed. The proposed data framework provides the following three functions. First, it provides a data repository suitable for the data lifecycle to increase research reproducibility. Second, it provides a new data model that can integrate, manage, search, and utilize heterogeneous data to support a data-driven interdisciplinary convergence research environment. Finally, it provides an exploratory data analysis (EDA) service and data enrichment using an AI model, both developed to strengthen data reliability and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of research endeavors. Using the EDISON 2.0 data framework, researchers can conduct interdisciplinary convergence research using heterogeneous data and easily perform data pre-processing through the web-based UI. Further, it presents the opportunity to leverage the derived data obtained through AI technology to gain insights and create new research topics.

  • This research aims to design a system capable of generating real web pages based on deep learning and big data, in three stages. First, a classification system was established based on the industry type and functionality of e-commerce websites. Second, the types of components of web pages were systematically categorized. Third, the entire web page auto-generation system, applicable for deep learning, was designed. By re-engineering the deep learning model, which was trained with actual industrial data, to analyze and automatically generate existing websites, a directly usable solution for the field was proposed. This research is expected to contribute technically and policy-wise to the field of generative AI-based complete website creation and industrial sectors.

  • It is necessary to respond to rapid technological changes such as the 4th industrial revolution and digital transformation across industries. And, a change in the university education system is necessary in a crisis situation of universities due to the rapid decrease of the school-age population. This study is aimed at practical competency with the ability to apply intelligent information technology to their job fields based on a basic understanding of intelligent information technology rather than advanced competency centered on theory and research. Instead of presenting the curriculum system diagram so that it can be flexibly applied to the design and development of the curriculum for intelligent information technology, training modules according to job and level were presented. In relation to intelligent information technology, a questionnaire was conducted for college professors, and industry experts were conducted on the derived educational modules to reflect the opinions of the industry. Industry experts said that collaboration with PBL, Capstone, and industry is necessary to improve problem-solving and communication skills.

  • The FoodTech industry has been developed with the rise of start-up by using AI, big data, robotics, biotechnology. In addition, sustainable development is more important with the trend of population growth, aging, and climate change. We investigated the impact of FoodTech on the foodservice industry with the cases of the global and domestic companies. The technology of AI, IoT, blockchain, robotics, automation systems are widely used to improve food safety and hygiene while as the use of diagnostic biomarkers such as blood or DNA, digital platform and app, and AI-based solutions are used in the field of personalized nutrition. With the expand of FoodTech in foodservice industry, the competencies that the managers need to develop include understanding technology, resource management, self-development, work ethics, problem-solving, and communication, therefore the support of the related education and training is required.

  • The evolution of new digital technologies is progressing rapidly. In particular, many changes in software and artificial intelligence are progressing rapidly in the field of education. The Ministry of Education is planning an educational program by linking software and artificial intelligence regular curriculum. Before applying it to regular subjects, various software and artificial intelligence related experience camps are being promoted. This study aims to construct an educational model for software and artificial intelligence education programs for high school students based on new digital technology. By expanding and distributing software and artificial intelligence education, we aim to enhance the basic capabilities of software and artificial intelligence for high school students. I would like to define the concept of software and artificial intelligence in high school and propose a model that links software and artificial intelligence learning factors to the regular curriculum.

  • As a service that creates graphic work images with AI, DALL-E2, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, BING image generator, and Playground AI are widely used. It is that graphic also enables learner-led customized education. With this, it is worth studying detailed design customized learning materials and methods for designing efficient design in future 2D graphic work, and it is necessary to explore the areas of application. The current situation is that it is necessary to develop a design education system that can indicate the lack of AI technology through text security and questions. In this study, a successful proposal for a process that is produced through a process of creating AI design work through proxy work can be presented as a conclusion. Design, advertisement, and visual content companies are already using and adapting, and the trend is to reflect the AI graphic utilization ability and results in the portfolio along with interviews when hiring new employees. In line with this, detailed consideration and research on visual and design production methods for AI convergence between instructors and learners are currently needed. In this paper, proposals and methods for image quality production were considered in the main body and conclusions, and conclusive directions were proposed for five alternatives and methods for future applications.

  • While applying new digital technologies, interest in software and artificial intelligence is quite high. In particular, many changes are being made for the development of software and artificial intelligence in the field of education. From 2025, software and artificial intelligence-related curricula will be applied to public education in elementary, middle and high schools. The Ministry of Education is also conducting various camps to experience software and artificial intelligence in various ways in elementary, middle and high schools before they are applied to public education. Several platforms for experience camps related to software and artificial intelligence are also being used. In this study, we intend to increase the educational efficiency of the learning method for software and artificial intelligence to be developed in the future by designing a model for software and artificial intelligence experiential learning platforms.

Exploring Information Ethics Issues based on Text Mining using Big Data from Web of Science (Web of Science 빅데이터를 활용한 텍스트 마이닝 기반의 정보윤리 이슈 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore information ethics issues based on academic big data from Web of Science (WoS) and to provide implications for information ethics education in informatics subject. To this end, 318 published papers from WoS related to information ethics were text mined. Specifically, this paper analyzed the frequency of key-words(TF, DF, TF-IDF), information ethics issues using topic modeling, and frequency of appearances by year for each issue. This paper used 'tm', 'topicmodel' package of R for text mining. The main results are as follows. First, this paper confirmed that the words 'digital', 'student', 'software', and 'privacy' were the main key-words through TF-IDF. Second, the topic modeling analysis showed 8 issues such as 'Professional value', 'Cyber-bullying', 'AI and Social Impact' et al., and the proportion of 'Professional value' and 'Cyber-bullying' was relatively high. This study discussed the implications for information ethics education in Korea based on the results of this analysis.

  • Due to a series of online sex crimes cases and online class conversions caused by the spread of the coronavirus, alternatives to sex education in schools are urgently required. As a result of this study, the metaverse sex education platform was designed. Using this platform, learners are expected to cultivate correct adult awareness and digital citizenship. Within the metaverse platform, learners can participate more actively in learning. Instead of exposing one's name and face in a place dealing with sensitive gender issues, one can participate in education through his or her decorated avatar and participate in education much more actively than face-to-face education and express one's opinion through chat. In addition, education by level can be received regardless of time and place, which can have the effect of bridging the educational gap between urban and rural areas. In this paper, we propose a new sex education platform without time and space constraints by utilizing metaverse.
