The study investigated the behavior of plain and fibered Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) beams under varying loading conditions using integrated analysis of the flexure and acoustic emission tests. The loading rate of testing is -0.25 -2 mm/min. It is observed that on increasing loading rate, flexural strength increases, and toughness decreases. The acoustic emission testing revealed that higher loading rates accelerate crack propagation. Fiber effect and matrix cracking are identified as significant contributors to the release of acoustic emission energy, with fiber rupture/failure and matrix cracking showing rate-dependent behavior. Crack classification analysis indicated that the rise angle (RA) value decreased under quasi-static loading. The average frequency (AF) value increased with the loading rate, but this trend reversed under rate-dependent conditions. K-means analysis identified distinct clusters of crack types with unique frequency and duration characteristics at different loading rates. Furthermore, the historic index and signal strength decreased with increasing loading rate after peak capacity, while the severity index increased in the post-peak zone, indicating more severe damage. The sudden rise in the historic index and cumulative signal strength indicates the possibility of several occurrences, such as the emergence of a significant crack, shifts in cracking modes, abrupt failure, or notable fiber debonding/pull-out. Moreover, there is a distinct rise in the number of AE knees corresponding to the increase in loading rate. The crack mapping from acoustic emission testing aligned with observed failure patterns, validating its use in structural health monitoring.

This study is related to the acquisition of physiological signals of human emotions and the recognition of human emotions using such physiological signals. To acquire physiological signals, seven emotions are evoked through stimuli. Regarding the induced emotions, the results of skin temperature, photoplethysmography, electrodermal activity, and an electrocardiogram are recorded and analyzed as physiological signals. The suitability and effectiveness of the stimuli are evaluated by the subjects themselves. To address the problem of the emotions not being recognized, we introduce a methodology for a recognizer using prototype-based learning and particle swarm optimization (PSO). The design involves two main phases: i) PSO selects the P% of the patterns to be treated as prototypes of the seven emotions; ii) PSO is instrumental in the formation of the core set of features. The experiments show that a suitable selection of prototypes and a substantial reduction of the feature space can be accomplished, and the recognizer formed in this manner is characterized by high recognition accuracy for the seven emotions using physiological signals.
In the design of the metal forming processes, various types of ductile fracture criteria are used to predict crack initiation and to fabricate metallic products without any defects. However, the quantitative measurement method for determination of crack initiation is insufficient. It is very difficult to detect crack initiation in ductile metals with excellent deformability because no significant load drop is observed due to crack generation. In this study, the applicability of acoustic emission sensors, which are commonly used in facility diagnostics, to measure crack initiation during the metal forming process was analyzed. Cylindrical notch specimens were designed using the finite element method to induce a premature crack on the surface of pre heat-treated steel (ESW90) material. In addition, specimens with various notch angles and heights were prepared and compression tests were carried out. During the compression tests, acoustic emission signal on the dies and images of the surface of the notch specimen were recorded using an optical camera in real time. The experimental results revealed that the acoustic emission sensor can be used to detect crack initiation in ductile metals due to severe plastic deformation.

Fourier transform has been one of the most common tools to study the frequency characteristics of signals. With the Fourier transform alone, it is difficult to tell whether signal's frequency contents evolve in time or not. Except for a few special cases, the frequency contents of most signals encountered in the real world change with time. Time-frequency methods are developed recently to overcome the drawbacks of Fourier transform, which can represent the information of signals in time and frequency at the same time. In this study, heat damage process of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP) and glass fiber reinforced plastic(GFRP) under monotonic tensile loading was characterized by acoustic emission. Different kinds of specimens were used to determine the characteristics of Strength and AE signals. Time-frequency analysis methods were employed for the analysis of fracture mechanism in CFRP such as matrix cracking, debonding and fiber fracture.

In this paper, a novel algorithm for PD localization in power transformers based on wavelet de-noising technique and energy criterion is proposed. Partial discharge is one of the main failures in power transformers. The localization of which could be very useful for maintenance systems. Acoustic signals due to a PD event are transient, irregular and non-repetitive. So wavelet transform is an efficient tool for this signal processing problem that gives a time-frequency demonstration. First, different wavelet based de-noising methods are analyzed. Then, a reasonable structure for threshold value determining and applying manner on signals is presented. Evaluated errors are good evidences for choices. Next, applying the elimination low energy frequency bands is discussed and developed as a de-noising method. Time differences between signals are used for PD localization. Different ways in time arrival detection are introduced and a novel approach in energy criterion method is presented. At the end, the quality of algorithm is verified through the different assays in lab.

A LIM protein gene homologue of the CRP (cysteinerich protein) family in the whiter-spotted flower chafer, Protaetia brevitarsis, was cloned. The P. brevitarsis LIM protein cDNA encodes a 92 amino acid polypeptide with a predicted molecular mass of 10,030 Da and a pI of 8.57. The P. brevitarsis LIM protein contains the cysteine-rich consensus sequence of LIM domain and the glycine-rich consensus sequence observed in the cysteine-rich protein family 1 (CRPl). The potential nuclear targeting signal is retained. The deduced amino acid sequence of the P. brevitarsis LIM protein cDNA showed 92$\%$ identity to another beetle, Apriona germari LIM protein. Northern blot analysis showed that P. brevitarsis LIM protein is highly expressed in epidermis and midgut, but not in the fat body.
In this work, analytical performance of a laboratory built double membrane desolvator (DMD) was studies using perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) nebulizer and microconcentirc nebulizer (MCN) in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. Compared with MCN, PFA nebulizer coupled to DMD showed similar analytical sensitivity for aqueous solution and better sensitivity for isopropyl alcohol. Since PFA resisted various acids, HCI, $H_2SO_4$ and HF solution were analyzed with less than 2% RSD. Rinse-out time for the signal reduction to 1% was obtained to be 35 s for PFA but about 45 s for MCN.
C-type lectins are crucial for pathogen recognition, innate immunity, and cell-cell interactions. In this study, a C-type lectin gene was cloned from the rock bream. The full-length RbCTL cDNA was 729 bp with a 429 bp ORF encoding a 164-residue protein. The deduced amino acid sequence of RbCTL had all of the conserved features crucial for its fundamental structure, including the four cysteine residues involved in sulfide bridge formation and potential $Ca^2+$/carbohydrate-binding sites. RbCTL contains a signal peptide one single carbohydrate recognition domain. It showed 29.4% similarity to the C-type lectin of rainbow trout. RbCTL mRNA was predominately expressed in gill and head-kidney tissue and expressed less in peripheral blood leukocytes, trunk-kidney, spleen, liver, intestine and muscle. Expression of RbCTL was differentially upregulated in rock bream stimulated with LPS, Con A/PMA and poly I:C.

Single side final polishing is a very important role to stabilize a wafer finally before the device process on the wafer is executed. In this study, the machining variables, such as pressure, machining time, and the velocity of pad table were adopted. These parameters have the major influence on the characteristics of wafer polishing. We investigated the surface roughness changing these variables to find the optimal polishing condition. Pad, slurry, slurry quantity, and oscillation distance were set to the fixed variables. In order to reduce defects and find a stable machining condition, a hall sensor was used on the polishing process. AE sensor was attached to the polishing machine to verify optimal condition. Applying data analysis of the sensor signal, experiments were performed. We can get better surface roughness from loading the quasi static force and improving wafer-holding method.
