This study suggests a new Hirsch-type composite index, 'transposed g-index' with a different viewpoint on h-index and g-index. From this new point of view, the axes of the graph describing the h-index and g-index are transposed so that the horizontal axis corresponds to the citation frequency threshold and the vertical axis corresponds to the number of documents. Based on this transposed graph, a new indicator transposed g-index is suggested and applied to library and information science researchers' outcomes in Korean Citation Index database. The results show that this new index has more discriminating power than h-index and g-index, and is more sensitive to differences in quantitative aspects than quality of research. It is expected that the transposed g-index will be helpful for the multifaceted evaluation of the research outcome because it has differentiating characteristics that distinguish consistent researchers who continue to study from those who do not.

A book index is a locater system that ordinarily connects a set of terms from a text of a book to the page where they occur in the book's text. The DDC Relative Index differs somewhat in both of this matters. Its terms refers to classification notations and their corresponding category statements as found in the schedule text rather than to page numbers. The index is the final equipment of a classification scheme. The index is of primary importance to any classification scheme. Therefore The purpose of this study is to analysis DDC Relative Index.
The study estimated the relationship between carbon dioxide, crop and livestock production index in Ghana: Estimating the long-run elasticities and variance decomposition by employing a time series data spanning from 1960-2013 using both fit regression and ARDL models. There was evidence of a long-run equilibrium relationship between carbon dioxide emissions, crop production index and livestock production index. Evidence from the study shows that a 1% increase in crop production index will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 0.52%, while a 1% increase in livestock production index will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 0.81% in the long-run. There was evidence of a bidirectional causality between a crop production index and carbon dioxide emissions and a unidirectional causality exists from livestock production index to carbon dioxide emissions. Evidence from the variance decomposition shows that 37% of future fluctuations in carbon dioxide emissions are due to shocks in the crop production index while 18% of future fluctuations in carbon dioxide emissions are due to shocks in the livestock production index. Efforts towards reducing pre-production, production, transportation, processing and post-harvest losses are essential to reducing food wastage which affects Ghana's carbon footprint.
This study aims to develop an easy and practical simple heat index (SHI) using climatic parameters. This simple heat index was named as a thermal perception index. Most of thermal indices are difficult to calculate or interpret for most normal person. Newly developed thermal perception index (THI) was used only a few variables for input.

The side collision reconstruction algorithm is developed using three dimensional car crash analysis. Medium size passenger car is modeled for finite element analysis. Total 24 side collision configurations, four different speed and six different angle, are set up for making side collision database. Deformation index and degree index are built up for each collision case. Deformation index is a kind of deformation estimate averaging displacement of side door of crashed car from finite element analysis result. Angle index is constructed measuring deformed angle of crashing car. There are two kinds of angle index, one is measured at driver's side and the other is measured at passenger's side. Also a collision analysis information in side of cars is used for giving a basis for scientific and practical reason in a reconstruction of the car accident. The analysis program, LS-DYNA3D is utilized for finite element analysis program for a collision analysis. Those database are used for side collision reconstruction. Side collision reconstruction algorithm is developed, and applied to find the collision conditions before the accident occurs. Three example collision cases are tried to check the effectiveness of the algorithm. Deformation index and angle index is extracted for the case from the analysis result. Deformation index is compared to the established database, and estimated collision speed and angle are introduced by interpolation function. Angle index is used to select a specific collision condition from the several available conditions. The collision condition found by reconstruction algorithm shows good match with original condition within 10% error for speed and angle. As a result, the calculation from the reconstruction of the situation is reproducing the situation well. The performance in this study can be used in many ways for practical field using deformation index and degree index. Other different collision situations may be set up for extending the scope of this study in the future.

This study was performed to improve the evaluation of the longitudinal roughness index for various profilometers at airport runway. Especially, a laser type of profilemeter subjected to the longitudinal roughness index has been focused. The test result show that a new type of profile index, IRI(International roughness index) resulted from a laser type of profilometer was profitable for airport runway etc.. The present study provides useful results for the improvement of evaluation of the conventional profile index.
Emerging modem database applications require multi-dimensional index structures to provide high performance for data retrieval. In order for a multi-dimensional index structure to be integrated into a commercial database system, efficient techniques that provide transactional access to data through this index structure are necessary. The techniques must support all degrees of isolation offered by the database system. Especially degree 3 isolation, called "no phantom read," protects search ranges from concurrent insertions and the rollbacks of deletions. In this paper, we propose a new phantom protection method for multi-dimensional index structures that uses a multi-level grid technique. The proposed mechanism is independent of the type of the multi-dimensional index structure, i.e., it can be applied to all types of index structures such as tree-based, file-based, and hash-based index structures. In addition, it has a low development cost and achieves high concurrency with a low lock overhead. It is shown through various experiments that the proposed method outperforms existing phantom protection methods for multi-dimensional index structures.

The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of index definition and to prepare the basis of optimal index in bibliographic retrieval system. For the purpose, this research studied a index extraction theory on index tag definition and index normalization from the bibliographic marc database and analyzed a retrieval utilization rate of extracted index. In this experiment, we divided index between text-type and code-type about the generated 29,219,853 indexes from 2,200,488 bibliographic records and analyzed utilization rate by the comparison of index-type and index term of web logs. According to the result, the text-type indexes such as title, author, publication, subject are showed high utilization rate while the code-type indexes were showed low utilization rate. So this study suggests that the unused index is removed from index definition to optimize index.

Body physical technique is to pursuit the dynamic motion by the physical index(PI) and sensory index(SI) on the physical body function. Function of the physical body by the motor condition is organized the dynamic physical system. For the physical motion of signal, we is defined a runout value of the body function by the physical index on the dynamic state. The concept of body physical index was identified the reference of physical index and sensory index by the body technique. As to detect a variation of the body physical technique-runout physical index(BPT-RPI) of the maximum and average and minimum in terms of physical motion, and the dynamic sensory value that was a runout function of the vision variation of the $Vi-{\xi}_{MAX-AVG-MIN}$ with $2.53{\pm}4.85$ units, that was a runout function of the vestibular variation of the $Ve-{\xi}_{MAX-AVG-MIN}$ with ($-0.69{\pm}2.32$)units, that was a runout function of the somatosensory variation of the $So-{\xi}_{MAX-AVG-MIN}$ with ($-1.43{\pm}-1.36$) units. The dynamic physical motion will be to confirm at the variable function of the runout motion for the body function values of dynamic physical index on the BPT-RPI that was identified an evaluation of the physical sensory function by the dynamic physical system. Runout body system was mentioned of a physical body situation by the mild moving and was refer a runout data of dynamic physical nervous index.
Analyzing the relationships among the parameters for quantifying the quality of research published in journals is a challenging task. In this paper, we analyze the relationships between the impact factor, h-index, and g-index of a journal. To keep our analysis simple and easy to understand, we consider a generalized version of the impact factor where there is no time window. In the absence of the time window, the impact factor converges to the number of citations received per paper. This is not only justified for the impact factor, it also simplifies the analysis of the h-index and g-index as well because addition of a time window in the form of years complicates the computation of indices too. We derive the expressions for the relationships among impact factor, h index, and g-index and validate them using a given set of publication-citation data.
