유니버설 디자인의 최근 성향 분석 연구 (A Study of Current Tendency of Universal Design)

  • The purpose of this study was to scrutinize the current tendency of Universal Design. The analysis unit was presentation in the proceeding of "The first International Universal Design Conference" which was held at New York in June, 1998. Sixty the presentations in the conference were analyzed using Content Analysis technique. The analysis criteria were academic vs. practical, themes, subjects, levels of UD concepts, design principles applied, and type of disability. The results were as follows. Compared with its early characteristics such as practical approach, architectural living environment, barrier free for the disabled, especially for person with mobile disability using wheelchair, and the emphasis of accessibility, UD characteristics shown in the conference evidenced a dramatic shift from them toward the new century : Its subjects became a wide range of people including the disabled departing from 'the disabled' only; The range of disability was expanded to include visual and audial disability departing from mobility only; Themes appeared very diverse such as both small and large scale environments, products, dissemination, and theory from the 'architectural environment'; Various design principles were added to early accessibility ; Commercialism was added to early Welfarism. Therefore, this conference provided empirical evidence that UD changed considerably from its early development in many aspects. It indicated the potential of UD as a big wave in the 21st century design.

Consistency of the rapid assessment method for reinforced concrete buildings

  • Determination of earthquake-safety of existing buildings requires a rather long and challenging process both in terms of time and expertise. In order to prevent such a tedious process, rather rapid methods for evaluating buildings were developed. The purpose of these rapid methods is to determine the buildings that have priority in terms of risk and accordingly to minimize the number of buildings to be inspected. In these rapid evaluation methods detailed information and inspection are not required. Among these methods the Canadian Seismic scanning method and the first stage evaluation method included in the principles concerning the determination of risk-bearing buildings promulgated by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in Turkey are used in the present study. Within the scope of this study, six reinforced concrete buildings damaged in Van earthquakes in Turkey are selected. The performance scores of these buildings are calculated separately with the mentioned two methods, and then compared. The purpose of the study is to provide information on these two methods and to set forth the relation they have between them in order to manifest the international validity.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the problems in exercising buyer's right to claim damages for the breach of contract by the seller in international sales contract and to suggest reasonable counter-measures. The main contents are as follows: First, this author analyzed the principles of the seller's liability for damages in detail and examined the methods for the calculation of damages on the basis of Arts.74~77. As these articles are found to be insufficient in practical application, this author further examined the UNIDROIT Principles(2004) to confirm whether these Principles can fill the gaps of CISG or not, which turned out their gap-filling functions. Second, this author tried to find any expected problems when the buyer resorts to the right to claim damages in case of the seller's breach of contract including the estimation of damages, the burden of proof, causation, the proof of appropriateness for avoidance, the proof of buyer's obligation to mitigate the loss and so on. The reason is that these problems may cause a lot of difficulties in real business. As result, many buyers have given up their reasonable rights to claim damages so far. Finally, from the buyer's perspective, this author would like to suggest a liquidated damage clause(LD Clause) which gives the buyer to received a specified sum in case of seller's non-performance and/or a demand guarantee(or standby L/C) which guarantees buyer to secure unconditional payment independent of the underlying contract. For these purposes, the buyer should try to insert the LD Clause and/or Guarantee Clause in the contract when the buyer and the seller negotiate the sales contract. Also there are a lot of considerations and limitations in using the LD Clause and the Guarantee Clause in their real business, mainly dependent up bargain power between the seller and the buyer, for which this author promise to examine in detail in the future.

해체적 작품공간의 구조 분석을 위한 다이내믹 시미트리와 모듈 개념의 적용 및 그 해석 (Interpretation Applied Dynamic Symmetry and Module for the Structure Analysis in Art-Work Space)

  • 본 연구는 1970년대 이후 포스트 모더니즘 예술가들의 작품공간에서 나타나고 있는 해체적 방식의 공간개념 고찰을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이에 따라 예술가들의 세계관 변화에 따른 20세기 후기 시대 포스트모더니즘 시각예술 작품에 나타난 복잡계(complex System)의 특성들을 20세기 전기 시대 모더니즘 시각예술 작품에 나타난 단순계(simple System)의 특성들과 비교하여, 그 특성들이 작품형식의 특징을 이루어 주는 구성체계와 어떤 상관관계를 맺으며 조형적 체계화의 변수를 갖게 되는가에 대한 탐구이다. 따라서 그 구성체계들과 변수에 대한 이론적 접근방법으로서는 예술작업에서 기본적 형태 구성 방법으로 사용되는 질서체계의 의미 즉, 모듈(module) 개념을 르 꼬르뷔제(Le Corbusier)의 이론을 통하여 살펴보고, 예술작업에서의 형태구조를 랭거(Suzanne langer)의 형태론 연구에서 정의된 '생명체의 법칙(the law of living form) 즉, '유기체의 원리(the principles of organization)'로 볼 수 있을 때, 인체나 자연 생태계의 성장구조에서 나타나는 유기체적 구조라고 보며, 모듈의 법칙을 지배하는 원리를 햄비지(Jay Hambidge)가 주장하는 다이내믹 시미트리(dynamic symmetry)로서 작품 공간을 산술분석 하였다. 이로써 20세기 전기 시대와 후기 시대의 시각예술 작품에서 나타난 양식의 특성들을 제시작품을 통하여 그 내용면과 형식면에서 차이를 비교 분석할 수 있었으며 이를 통해 20세기 후기 포스트 모더니즘 시각예술 작품에서 나타나는 복잡계의 특성들이 새로운 조형적 체제화의 변수에 작용하는 원리를 다음과 같이 다음과 같이 제안할 수 있게 되었다. 첫째, 작품공간에서의 모듈은 다이내믹 시미트리로부터 만들어지고 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 모듈은 다이내믹 시미트리의 필요충분 조건인 만족스럽고(acceptable), 효율적이며(effcient), 융통적이고(flexible), 적응력이 뛰어난(adaptable) 인간적 요구사항을 충족시켜야 한다. 셋째, 다이내믹 시미트리는 역(逆, reciprocity)의 원리와 보상(補賞, complement)의 원리를 제 1의 구성원리로 하며 공간에서 서로에 대한 역과 공통성(common property)을 갖고 자기유사를 지닐 때 연속체(continuum)를 손상하지 않고 전체공간을 유기체적으로 분절한다.

  • 1) Objective External treatments have various curative effects. So it had been used to cure various patients. But, it has a limited sphere of application in the present South Korea. And the "Li-Yao-Pian-Won" had been written by Wu-Shang-Xian(吳尙先) in 1864. The book is the first technical book of external treatments. So, he has been held in respected as the father of external treatments by many people. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments theory 2) Conclusions He had insisted that external treatments principles are identical with internal treatments. So, prescriptions of external treatment are selected and made by principles of internal treatment. But external treatments have following characteristics 1. Each of external treatment prescriptions have various effects. 2. Exchange of treatments is very easy. 3. We can make free use of various external treatments for care at a time. 4. External treatments are very economical. 5. External treatments are very easy to study. 6. External treatments are simple, speedy, precision.

각기(脚氣)에 대한 고찰(考察) -Beriberi와의 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on Gak-Gi(脚氣) in Comparison with Beriberi)

  • Objectives :The Korean Medical concept Gak-Gi(脚氣) is understood as being identical to Beriberi and Vitamin B1 deficiency, without the necessary investigation that is required in such identification. Therefore this study aims to systematically compare these two concepts for thorough investigation. Methods : Research was carried out in two directions. First, the cause, symptoms, treatment principles of Gak-Gi(脚氣) in the medical texts were analyzed. Second, the process of the Beriberi theory development and its identification with Gak-Gi(脚氣), medical information on Beriberi, and the basis of various diseases that have been linked to Gak-Gi(脚氣) were studied. Results of the two directions were used to compare Gak-Gi(脚氣) and Beriberi. Results : Gak-Gi(脚氣) and Beriberi overlap in many aspects. However, unlike Beriberi which is understood as nutrient deficiency essentially, Gak-Gi(脚氣) can be caused by exterior pathogens such as wind toxin, while its different manifestations and treatment principles cannot be fully explained by nutrient deficiency. Conclusions : Gak-Gi(脚氣) could be understood as a type of syndrome in which causes and symptoms are connected, where symptoms start in the legs, moving upwards. It cannot be identified with Beriberi, which has been interpreted as a single disease.

  • 본 연구에서는 신(新)산학협력 패러다임에서 출발한 창업대학원 사업의 실태를 조사하여 자생력을 증진시키기 위한 방안으로 창업대학원 교육프로그램 개발의 역할모형을 제시하고자 하였다. 5개 창업대학원 설문조사에 의하면, 창업대학원은 창업교육프로그램 결정과정에서 수요자 중심의 창업교육 활성화 요인들이 종합적으로 고려되지 않는 경향을 보였다. 이것은 창업교육기관이 프로그램 개발과 과정에서 수요자(학습자, 지역사회, 기관)의 요구를 분석하고 목표를 설정하는 등 일련의 절차가 전문적이고 체계적으로 이루어지지 못하고 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 창업대학원에서 신산학협력 패러다임의 중요성을 전달하고 창업교육프로그램을 개발함에 있어 신신학협력 패러다임의 주요 원칙을 적용토록 유도하여 지속적인 생존과 발전이 가능하도록 한다. 그리고 유관기관에 대한 역할 모형을 제시하여 창업교육프로그램 개발에 있어 상생의 협력이 가능한 유관기관을 선정할 수 있도록 기준과 역할모형을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 창업대학원 사업의 실태를 조사하여 창업교육프로그램 개발 모델들이 신산학협력의 패러다임과 부합되는지 검증하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 크게 두 가지의 접근을 시도하였다. 첫째, 본 연구는 이론적 검토를 통해 신산학협력 패러다임의 주요 원칙들을 도출하고 창업교육에 효과적인 적용방법을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 5개 창업대학원의 교육프로그램 개발 성과를 측정하기 위해 주요 원칙이 얼마나 잘 지켜지고 있는가를 확인하였다.

팔정도지향 명상활동이 유아의 도덕성 및 사회성에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Noble Eight Fold Path Oriented Meditation Activity on Young Children's Morality and Sociability)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how the noble eight fold oriented meditation activities(NEFOM) interacts with young children's development of morality and sociability. This research has 56 participants aged 5 with a control group of 28 young children and another group with 28 kids. The instrument is a meditation program consisted with 10 training sessions; the noble eight fold was intensively applied and encouraged the participants to think of the behaviors that are desired in this theoretical framework. For the purpose, the research questions are as follows: First, are there effects of NEFOM on the morality of preschoolers. Second, are there effects of NEFOM on the sociality of preschooler. Main findings of this study can be summarized as follows: First, NEFOM can improve preschoolers' morality in a sense of making a decision based upon its right and wrong in intentions, rather than immediate gain and loss as a consequence of their actions. Second, NEFOM can facilitate sociability by providing some opportunities to feel joy, happiness, tranquility, and hopeful emotions, instead of negative feelings of depression, stress, and aggressiveness. Furthermore, it can suggest concrete behavioral directions for them. To summarize, the meditation activities designed by the eight principles of the noble eight fold have strong educational potential to facilitate seeking the foundations of mindsets and thus have positive impacts on young children's morality and sociability by encouraging them to think through the principles and concrete directions for the behaviors.

중학교 학생의 증명 능력 분석 (Analysis on Students' Abilities of Proof in Middle School)

  • In this study, we analysed the constituents of proof and examined into the reasons why the students have trouble in learning the proof, and proposed directions for improving the teaming and teaching of proof. Through the reviews of the related literatures and the analyses of textbooks, the constituents of proof in the level of middle grades in our country are divided into two major categories 'Constituents related to the construction of reasoning' and 'Constituents related to the meaning of proof. 'The former includes the inference rules(simplification, conjunction, modus ponens, and hypothetical syllogism), symbolization, distinguishing between definition and property, use of the appropriate diagrams, application of the basic principles, variety and completeness in checking, reading and using the basic components of geometric figures to prove, translating symbols into literary compositions, disproof using counter example, and proof of equations. The latter includes the inferences, implication, separation of assumption and conclusion, distinguishing implication from equivalence, a theorem has no exceptions, necessity for proof of obvious propositions, and generality of proof. The results from three types of examinations; analysis of the textbooks, interview, writing test, are summarized as following. The hypothetical syllogism that builds the main structure of proofs is not taught in middle grades explicitly, so students have more difficulty in understanding other types of syllogisms than the AAA type of categorical syllogisms. Most of students do not distinguish definition from property well, so they find difficulty in symbolizing, separating assumption from conclusion, or use of the appropriate diagrams. The basic symbols and principles are taught in the first year of the middle school and students use them in proving theorems after about one year. That could be a cause that the students do not allow the exact names of the principles and can not apply correct principles. Textbooks do not describe clearly about counter example, but they contain some problems to solve only by using counter examples. Students have thought that one counter example is sufficient to disprove a false proposition, but in fact, they do not prefer to use it. Textbooks contain some problems to prove equations, A=B. Proving those equations, however, students do not perceive that writing equation A=B, the conclusion of the proof, in the first line and deforming the both sides of it are incorrect. Furthermore, students prefer it to developing A to B. Most of constituents related to the meaning of proof are mentioned very simply or never in textbooks, so many students do not know them. Especially, they accept the result of experiments or measurements as proof and prefer them to logical proof stated in textbooks.

4원 호이슬러 합금 CoFeCrZ(Z = Ga, Ge)의 (001) 표면에서의 자성과 반쪽금속성: 제일원리 계산 연구 (Half-metallicity and Magnetism at the (001) Surfaces of the Quaternary Heusler Alloys CoFeCrZ (Z = Ga, Ge): A First-principles Study)

  • 최근에 전자구조 계산으로 반쪽금속성을 가진다는 것이 확인된 4원 호이슬러 화합물인 CoFeCrGa와 CoFeCrGe의 (001)표면에서 반쪽금속성의 유지여부와 표면자성을 Full-potential Linearized Augmented Plane Wave 에너지띠 계산방법을 통해 연구하였다. 이를 위해 두 화합물 모두에서 각기 CoFe와 CrGa, 그리고 CrGe로 끝나는 (001)표면을 모두 고려하였다. 계산된 상태밀도로부터 두 화합물의 두가지 절단표면계 모두에서 반쪽금속성이 유지되지 못함을 알았다. 다만 CoFeCrGa에서 CrGa(001) 표면계는 그 상태밀도로부터 거의 반쪽금속성을 가짐을 알았다. 두 계에서 표면이나 표면 밑층의 Co나 Fe, 그리고 Cr 원자의 자기모멘트는 계에 따라 상당히 다른 값을 가졌다.
