본 논문은 뇌졸중에 의한 상지 편마비 환자의 재활훈련을 위한 동력보조형 상지재활훈련기의 설계를 제안하였다. 설계된 상지재활훈련기는 3자유도를 가지고 있으며, 검지와 손목은 독립적으로, 그리고 나머지 손가락은 하나의 모듈로 굽힘과 폄 동작이 가능하다. 손목 기구는 복동식 공암실린더를, 손가락 기구에는 두 개의 전동식 선형구동기를 적용하여 동작을 보조하도록 하였다. 설계를 기반으로 프로토타입 상지재활훈련기를 제작하였으며, 0.8mm이내의 오차로 정상상태에 수렴하도록 위치제어기를 구현하였다. 실험의 결과로부터 동력보조용 상지훈련기가 실현가능함을 보였다.

A 51 year old man was admitted to the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Department of Kyungpook University Hospital on April 7, 1976, with chief complaints of orthopnea and the chest pain for about 3 months. Physical examination showed narrow pulse pressure, puffy face, engorged neck veins at sitting position, distant heart sound, enlarged liver and edematous upper extremities. The chest roentgenogram demonstrated markedly enlarged cardiac silhouette. Low voltage and the low to diphagic T`s were noted on the electrocardiogram. Paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia was developed intermittently and was subsided spontaneously. Repeated pericardiocentesis were performed each of which yielded from 100 to 300ml. but intractable cardiac failure was progressed. The bacteriology and cytology of the pericardial fluid were not revealed any specific findings. The pericardiectomy was performed to release the intractable cardiac tamponade. Pericardium was found to be thickened and cardiac constriction was noted. The thickened pericardium was easily removed. A large hen`s egg sized dark blue tumor mass occupied the anterior wall of the right atrium and two thumb tip sized pearl gray tumors were placed at the just below portion of the main pulmonary artery. The biopsy report revealed primary fibrosarcoma of the heart. The patient was improved from the symptoms of the cardiac failure during the postoperative course.

In daily life, another major role of human hand is a communicative function using hand gestures besides grasp function. Therefore, if amputees can express their intention by the prosthetic hand, they can much actively participate in social activities. Thus, this paper propose myoelectric multi-function prosthetic hand which can express 6 useful hand gestures such as Rock, Scissors, Paper, Indexing, Ok and Thumb-up. It was designed as under-actuated structure to minimize volume and weight of the prosthetic hand. Moreover, in order to effectively control various hand gestures by only two EMG sensors, we propose a control strategy that the signal type are expanded as "Strong" and "Light", and hand gestures are hierarchically classified for the intuitive control. Finally, we prove the validity of the developed prosthetic hand with the experiment.

저자들은 복통과 구토, 혈변을 주소로 내원한 환아의 바륨 대장 조영술에서 무지문양(thumb-printing)을 확인하여 허혈성 대장염 진단하에 치료 중 미세혈관성 용혈성 빈혈과 혈소판 감소, 전해질 불균형과 급격한 소변량 감소의 급성 신부전 소견을 확인하고 허혈성 대장염에 동반된 용혈성 요독 증후군을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

본 연구에서는 비선형예측기법으로서 현재 많은 관심을 받고 있는 인공신경망을 사용하여 컨테이너 물동량 예측을 수행하여 ARIMA모형과 비교하였다. 인공신경망의 예측성과에 많은 영향을 주는 네트워크 구조설계에 있어 기존의 선행연구들은 경험에 바탕을 둔 방법론을 사용하였다. 하지만 본 연구에서 그 대안으로 구조설계 문제에 있어 방대하며 복잡한 탐색공간에서 효과적으로 알려진 유전알고리즘을 사용하였다.

Pulmonary arteriovenous fistula is a congenital malformation resulting from errant capillary development, with incomplete formation or disintegration of the vascular septa that normally divide the primitive connections between the venous and arterial plexuses. It generally occurs as part of the disorder known as hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia [Rendu-Osler-Weber disease]. The hereditary lesion is transmitted as a simple non-sex-linked dominant trait. It may be single or multiple, too small to see on plain chest films or large and easily recognized. One third of the lesions are multiple on plain chest film. The pathogenesis of its symptoms is that unoxygenated, desaturated arterial blood enters into the pulmonary venous system, directly. Recently we have experienced a case of the pulmonary arteriovenous fistula in 26 years old male soldier, which was confirmed by pulmonary angiography preoperatively. 2 thumb-tip sized, well circumscribed cystic masses filled with bright red colored blood were seen in subpleural and anterolateral portion of the right upper lobe. Right upper Iobectomy was performed due to close approximation of the fistula with pulmonary vein. Microscopically, it shows angiomatous dilatation of the abnormal vessels embedding in the parenchyma. Postoperative physiologic studies show nearly normal arterial oxygen saturation, hemoglobin and RBC count. There was good, uneventful postoperative course.

A 51-year-old male who is right-handed visited the outpatient for right fingers-drop. The patient's fingers, including thumb, were not extended on metacarpophalangeal joint. The active motion of the right wrist was available. The electromyography and nerve conduction velocity study were consistent with the posterior interosseous neuropathy. Further evaluation was done with the magnetic resonance imaging for finding the space-occupying lesion or any possible soft tissue lesion around the radial nerve pathway. On magnetic resonance imaging, the ganglion cyst, which was about 1.8 cm in diameter, was observed on the proximal part of the superficial layer of the supinator muscle (Arcade of Frohse). The surgical excision was done on the base of ganglion cyst at the base of stalk of cyst which looked to be connected with proximal radioulnar joint capsule. The palsy had completely resolved when the patient was observed on the outpatient department a month after the operation.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to establish an accurate and effective method of locating acupoints of the forearm by studying bone proportional measurement. Methods : A total of 60 volunteers, 30 men and 30 women, participated in this study. 7 parts of the body were measured by a soft ruler or digital vernier calipers. The cun of the upper limb was calculated and analyzed. And the results were compared with the standard cun. Results : The bone proportional cun of the forearm based on height and femur was close to 11. It was different from the standard 12.5, 12 or 10. The cun of the forearm by thumb or finger width measurement was different from the standard too. Conclusions : We suggest that locating acupoints of the forearm needs to be done based on 11 cun. The confusion on locating acupoints of the forearm will be reduced by reflecting the result of the actual measurement.

This study introduces a smart wrist band system with pressure measurements using wrist skin curvature variation due to finger motion. It is easy to wear and take off without pre-adaptation or surgery to use. By analyzing the depth variation of wrist skin curvature during each finger motion, we elaborated the most suitable location of each Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR) to be attached in the wristband with anatomical consideration. A 3D depth camera was used to investigate distinctive wrist locations, responsible for the anatomically de-coupled thumb, index, and middle finger, where the variations of wrist skin curvature appear independently. Then sensors within the wristband were attached correspondingly to measure the pressure change of those points and eventually the finger motion. The smart wrist band was validated for its practicality through two demonstrative applications, i.e., one for a real-time control of prosthetic robot hands and the other for natural human-computer interfacing. And hopefully other futuristic human-related applications would be benefited from the proposed smart wrist band system.

The inhibition effect of persimmon peel extracts (PPE) (0.05(PPE-0.05), 0.1(PPE-0.1), and 0.2 g(PPE-0.2) per meat sample) on lipid and protein oxidation of pork patties during chilled storage for 12 days were investigated and compared to ascorbic acid (As-0.05) and butylhydroxytoluene (BHT) (BHT-0.01). The meat samples treated with PPE had greater (p<0.05) $a^*$ values comparing control in raw pork patties meat from day 4 of storage. The addition of PPE at all concentrations on meat samples effectively inhibited the formation of oxidation products as shown by decreasing conjugated dienes (CD), peroxide values (POVs), thiobarbituric acid reaction substances (TBARS), and carbonyl content during chilled storage for 12 d. The PPE-0.2 and BHT-0.01 had the lowest in decrease rate of free thiol content (0.24 and 0.22 times) during chilled storage. Therefore, results of this study suggest that PPE can be considered a potential antioxidant against lipid and protein oxidation of raw meat products.
