In the global context, particularly in Christian nations, Christmas is considered a culturally and ethically significant time. In this study, we examine Charles Dickens' novel, "A Christmas Carol," and the celebration of Christmas in Korea. We explore the values of Christmas in Korea derived from the significance and importance of this novel. These values include repentance, empathy, compassion, and the importance of humanity. Korean Christmas is regarded as a time for practicing these values, bearing a message akin to the transformation of characters like Scrooge. Furthermore, "A Christmas Carol" conveys a message of improvement and change over time, emphasizing change and growth in Korean Christmas. People reflect on their past, correct their mistakes, nurture hope for the future, and experience personal growth and transformation. Additionally, the novel raises awareness of social injustice and inequality, offering alternatives. In Korean society, Christmas encourages the willingness to care for and help others, facilitating discussions and understanding of societal issues. For these reasons, "A Christmas Carol" is considered a culturally and ethically significant time in Korean Christmas, and the two are intertwined in various aspects. This study explores the interaction between cultural change and ethical teachings by 'A Christmas Carol' and investigates the impact of this work on Christmas culture and social change. It serves as the basis for emphasizing moral principles and humanity during the Christmas season, and this research provides suggestions for future research directions, aiming to deepen the understanding of Dickens' work and the importance of "A Christmas Carol." Through these efforts, it is expected that valuable insights into the connection between Christmas culture and moral messages will be gained. In this study, we will delve into the enduring appeal and cultural significance of "A Christmas Carol," discussing how this novel has evolved into a beloved holiday tradition and a true symbol of Christmas. We will also examine the adaptation of this novel into various media and its influence on holiday season celebrations. Insights into the impact of this novel on Korean society and its continued significance in modern times will be provided, suggesting a direction for a healthier and more desirable path for Korean society.

영화 <찰스 디킨스의 비밀 서재>는 찰스 디킨스가 『크리스마스 캐럴』을 쓰는 동안 겪는 내면의 변화를 그리고 있다. 『크리스마스 캐럴』은 도시 빈민이 늘어나고 크리스마스 전통이 잊혀 가던 빅토리아 시대에 쓰인 책이다. 찰스 디킨스의 이 책은 사람들에게 가족과 이웃을 생각하는 마음의 소중함을 불어넣었고 흩어졌던 가족이 모여 함께 식사를 하는 오늘날의 크리스마스 풍경을 만들었다. 본 논문은 분석심리학적 관점에서 영화 <찰스 디킨스의 비밀 서재>를 분석하여 영화의 주인공 찰스의 개인적 삶의 위기와 그림자 인식 과정을 다루었다. 또한 찰스 디킨스의 전기와 시대적 배경을 참조하여 자본주의 사회의 집단적 문제가 찰스 개인의 삶에서 어떤 방식으로 작용하는지 살펴보았다. 크리스마스는 죽음과 재탄생의 상징적 의미를 가지고 있으며 영화는 크리스마스를 통해 찰스가 자신의 마음 속 어둠을 인식하고 새로운 인격으로 탄생하는 과정을 보여준다. 오늘날의 사람들에게도 크리스마스는 여전히 시대를 초월한 보편적인 상징으로 작용하고 있다.

로버트 지메키스 감독의 작품은 사실적인 디지털 케릭터가 등장하는 <폴라 익스프레스>를 제작하면서 많은 주목을 받아왔다. 비록 그가 <화성은 엄마가 필요해>를 마지막으로 애니메이션 제작을 중단하였지만, 그가 입체영상을 기반으로 제작한 3D 입체 애니메이션은 입체영상의 연출 방법에 있어 많은 기여를 하였다. 본 연구에서는 입체영상의 이론적 배경과 입체영상 쇼트 구성 시 연출방법에 있어 유의점 등을 토대로 로버트 지메키스의 대표적인 입체영상 작품을 비교분석하였다. 분석한 작품으로는 <폴라 익스프레스>, <크레스마스 케롤>를 중심으로 로버트 지메키스가 작품에서 입체감을 높이기 위해 공통적으로 연출한 표현기법에 대해서 고찰해 보았다.

This study researched the costume manufacture process by having the musical 'Christmas Carol' as an example and specifically presented the costume manufacture process of an actually performance work, thus it aimed to be helpful theoretically and realistically, by allowing theatrical costume manufacturers and majors in theatrical costume to be informed of the systematically practical affair process of the theatrical costume manufacture and by exhibiting the research work of costume composition aiming at reproducing a silhouette in the process such as costume composition and sewing, and the effectively manufacturing methods such as the costume composition application and the sewing method development aiming at the activity of performers. In the empirical research, it analyzed the features of characters and arranged the manufacture points while actually manufacturing the performance costume, and clarified the systematically performance costume manufacture process such as a manufacture meeting${\rightarrow}$costume list preparation$\rightarrow$work-instruction sheet preparation$\rightarrow$pattern manufacture$\rightarrow$sewing$\rightarrow$performance and inspection. Through performing the manufacture of the really performance work, it is hoped that this study contributes to the development of performance art circles, by presenting a step and a method of professionally theatrical costume to the performance manufacturers and the theatrical costume manufacturers at present when the theatrical costume is solidifying its position as a professional sphere, in the performance and an, has a meaning as the initially empirical research, which can exhibit as a guide of realistically and empirically educational contents for theatrical costume aiming to bring up professional staff for theatrical costume, and becomes help in the efficiently theatrical costume manufacture realistically.

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the stage costumes realized by digital clothing ; how realistic and accurate representation of empirical testing and in the consultation process for the production stage costumes, determine whether digital clothing has value that can be substituted for the stage costume. This study researched the stage costume manufacture, Isabel's costume of the musical 'Christmas Carol', process by using the 3-D clothing simulation technology : DC Suite. The results of this study is as following. They share many similarities between the stage costumes and digital clothing. It is possible that digital clothing takes a role as a substitute for stage costumes in the production process of the clothing samples. The clothing production system, including stage costumes, by digital clothing costs and lead time can be saved by innovative. Also the result can be saved without restriction, and this system can exert its effect in a very efficient way to incorporation of foreign producers and production system.
