The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the Silver Spike Point (SSP) on functional constipation. The subjects were 14 female students who attended a university located in Gyeonggi province and consent to participate in this study. The inclusion criteria were the fulfillment of two or more diagnostic criteria of Rome III or scoring four or more points in Constipation Assessment Scale (CAS). The CAS score was significantly decreased in the experimental group (from $14.29{\pm}1.38$ to $6.86{\pm}2.91$) (p<.05), however, there was no significant change in the control group (from $14.29{\pm}1.49$ to $14.14{\pm}1.21$). The present study suggests that SSP intervention is effective in mitigating constipation.

The disease gene for delayed puberty is hypothesized to reside within a 3.7 Mb genomic region on chromosome 9, spanning 9q31.2 to 9q31.3, which contains 20 genes. This region aligns with 9q31.3, where the Kallmann syndrome gene is suspected to be located in a patient with a de novo balanced translocation, t(7;9)(p14.1;q31.3). After analyzing the expression patterns and reported genetic variants of the 20 candidate genes, we propose ACTL7A and ACTL7B as strong candidate genes for Kallmann syndrome. Mutation screening of these genes in Kallmann syndrome patients will be essential to confirm their pathological roles in delayed puberty.
Purpose: This study aimed to the investigate the relationship between nursing organizational culture, stress coping, bullying, and turnover intention among Korean hospital nurses; and to identify factors influencing turnover intention. Methods: The participants were 264 nurses working at three general hospitals in a metropolitan area in; South Korea. Data were collected using structured questionnaires from March 20 to June 21, 2021; and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN program. Results: Nurses' turnover intention was positively correlated with hierarchical -oriention (r=.28, p<.001), work -oriention (r=.14, p=.012), and bullying (r=.48, p<.001), whereas turnover intention was negatively correlated with relationship -oriention (r=-.41, p<.001), innovation -oriention (r=-.39, p<.001), and stress coping (r=-.09, p=.009). The factors influencing turnover intention were nursing organizational culture, bullying, age, position, and total working period; these had 44.0% explanatory power for turnover intention (F=14.00, p<.001). Conclusion: According to this study, addressing bullying and strengthening nursing organizational culture is essential to lower turnover intention among clinical nurses.
Compensatory sweating is the main cause of patient dissatisfaction after sympathetic surgery for craniofacial hyperhidrosis. Surgery that sympathetic nerve trunk preserved and extent of resection limited was introduced to decrease compensatory sweating. From Jan 2000 to July 2002, the vidio-assisted thoracoscopic T2 sympathetic clipping and rami comunicantes selective division were performed in 36 patients suffering from craniofacial hyperhidrosis. Twenty two patients underwent a T2 sympathetic nerve clipping (Group 1), and fourteen patients underwent division of the T2 ramicommunicates (Group 2). We retrospectively analysed the rate of satisfaction, dryness of face, the rate of compensatory sweating, grade of compensatory sweating. The dryness of face was that no statistical difference between group 1 and group 2 (p=0.387); group1: dry 22.7% (5/22), humid 77.3% (17/22) group 2: dry 14.3% (2/14), humid 78.5% (11/14), persist 7.2% (1/14). The rate of satisfaction was 77.3% in T2 clipping and 64.2% in T2 sympathicotomy with no significant in the statistic analysis (p=0.396). The rate of compensatory sweating on group 2 was lower than group 1 (p=0.042); 95.4% (21/22) in T1 sympathetic clipping and 71.4% in T2 ramicotomy. The rate of embarrassing and disabling compensatory sweating was 70.5% (embarassing 8 patients, disabling 9 patients) in T2 clipping and 42.9% (embarassing 8 patients, disabling 9 patients)in T2 ramicotomy with statistically significant difference (p=0.036). The sympathetic trunk preservation surgery for craniofacial hyperhidrosis (T2 ramicotomy) redueced the rate of compensatory sweating when compared to the blocking surgery of sypathetic trunk (T2 clipping).
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of $CO_2$ treatment on quality of strawberry during storage. Gas composition in polyethylene(P.E.) film bag during storage was changed markedly at early stage of storage and then kept at the level of 8-9% $CO_2$and 1-2% $O_2$. Weight loss and decay were restricted by $CO_2$ pretreatment and P.E. film packaging. Titratable acidity, PH and soluble solids were not changed greatly during storage. Firmness of flesh was increased by $CO_2$ treatment till 14 days of storage and decrease of a value reduced by $CO_2$ treatment and P.E.film packaging, too. Ascorbic acid contents were more high in not packed samples than packed untill 14 days of storage but after that those were more high in P.E.film packed and $CO_2$ treated samples.
Purpose: Methylation of gene regulatory elements plays an important role in gene inactivation without genetic alteration. Gastric cancer is one of the tumors that exhibit a high frequency of CpG island hypermethylation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the occurrence of CpG island hypermethylation in gastric carcinoma in relation to H. pylori infection, CIMP and clincopathologic variables. Materials and Methods: We investigated the promoter methylation Status of six genes (hMLH1, p16, p14, COX-2, MGMT, E-cadherin) and CIMP in 36 gastric carcinoma tissues as well as in nontumor tissues. CIMP status was investigated by examining the methylation status of MINT 1, 2, 12, 25 and 31. The methylation status of the promoter was examined by methylation-specific PCR (MSP) and H. pylori infection was examined by histological diagnosis after staining with Warthin-Starry silver. Results: Among the 36 gastric carcinoma tissues, DNA hypermethylation was detected in the following frequencies: 14 (38.9%) for p14, 13 (36.1%) for p16, 8 (22.2%) for MGMT, 10 (27.8%) for COX-2, 21 (58.3%) for E-cadherin, and 6 (16.7%) for hMLH1. The frequencies for MINT1 and MINT25 hypermethylation were significantly higher in tumor tissues than in nontumor tissues. 16 (44.4%) of the 36 gastric carcinoma tissues were positive for the CIMP CIMP-H tumors were associated with older patients and larger tumor size than CIMP-L tumors. We found a significant association between the presence of the CIMP and hypermethylation of p16. Hypermethylation of p16 and MINT2 were significantly different when compared by age. MINT1 gene methylation was significantly associated with H. pylori infection (P=0.004). Conclusion: Our results suggest that aberrant hypermethylation of multiple tumor related genes (hMLH1, p16, p14, COX-2, MGMT, E-cadherin, MINT1, 2, 12, 25, 31) occurs frequently in gastric carcinoma tissues. The hypermethylation of MINT1 was significantly higher in the tumor tissues and was associated with H. pylori infection.

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of the various stage of growth on dry matter yield and chmical composition of forage oat(Avena sativa. L.). Seeds were planted on March 13 1993 on the Livestock Experimental Farm Keiymung junior college at keongsan Keongsangbukdo. Oat plant were harvested at various stages of maturity while the oat was in the premature stages. 1. Whole plant dry matter increased with advancing maturity. It was 11.8, 12.3, 14.9, 25.6 and 28.8% at before flag leaf emerged, flag leaf emerged, heads emerged, milk and dough stage., respectively. Dry matter increased very little during from before flag leaf emerged to heads emerged, after which it increased rapidly until the plant was dough stage. 2. Leaf weight ratio decreased with advancing maturity from before flag leaf emerged to dough, varied fmm 58 to 1 1%. Grain(with lemma, palea) increased with advancing maturity from heads emerged to dough, varied from 7 to 43%. 3. The content of cmde protein decreased during the stages of growth until milk(P<.OS), and then changed very little with advancing maturity. 4. The content of NDF and ADF increased rapidly during the early growth period until heading(P<.05) and then decreased due to the increase in carbohydrate storage in the grain. 5. The dry matter yields per ha increased with advancing maturity, it was 2,420, 4,380, 7,190, 13,130 and 14,530kg at before flag leaf emerged, flag leaf emerged, heads emerged, milk and early dough, respectively. Significant difference has been obtained among stages of growth(P< .05). 6. According to the results obtained from this study, it is suggested that milk stage of maturity is higher in dry matter yields would be recomendable for spring oat for silage.
A total of 26 and 55 isolates of fungi were isolated from corn and wheat samples collected from different markets in Korea, respectively. To identify and evaluate the dichlorobenzidine(DCB)-DNA adducts in liver cell and bladder epithelial cells by $^{32}$ P-postlabeling and GC/MS-SIM, we orally exposed the dichlorobenzidine (20mg/kh body wt.,/day)to male sprague-dawley rats for 14 days. Two kinds of DCB-DNA adduct were found at the same site of thin layer chromatogram of $^{32}$ P-postlabeling method in liver cells and bladder epithelial cells. In liver cells, relative adduct labeling(RAL) $\times$ 10$^{12}$ of DCB-DNA adduct A1 were 34.1$\pm$3.71 and 69.9$\pm$5.02, that of adduct A2 were 74.1$\pm$10.1 and 105.1$\pm$10.1 on 10 and 14 days after treatment, respectively. And in bladder epithelia cells, RAL $\times$ 10$^{12}$ of DCB-DNA adduct A1 were 5.92$\pm$1.60 and 15.9$\pm$1.31, that of adduct A2 were 9,81$\pm$2.81 and 22.8$\pm$1.79 on 10 and 14 days after treatment, respectively. DCB metabolites formed DNA adducts were monoacetyl-dichlorobenzidine(acDCB) and diacety1-dichlorobenzidine(di-acDCB), which was identify by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-scan ionization mode(GC/MS-SIM), along with hydrolysis, extraction and TFA(trifluoroacetyl anhyride) derivatization with DCB-DNA adducts isolated from live cells and bladder epithelial cells. The base peak of acDCB were 252 and 294 m/z, and that of di-acDCB were 252, 294 and 336 m/z. In conclusion, the exposed DCB formed two kinds of DCB-DNA adduct, the proximate materials of that were acDCB and di-acDCB in liver and bladder epithlial cells. And the above GC/MS-SIM method was found the DCB-DNA adducts could be monitoring by gas chromatography.
Purpose: This analysis was to compare the result of radiation alone and chemoradiation in cervical cancer in terms of response, survival, failure, and complication. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis of 135 cervical cancer patients treated with definitive radiotherapy from November 1985 to December 1991 was performed. Fifty-six patients were treated with radiation alone and 79 patients were treated with cisplatin-based chemotherapy plus radiation. Follow-up period ranged from 5 to 105 months with a median 47 months. According to the FIGO classification, the patients were subdivided into 18 $(13.3\%)$ stage IB, 7 $(5.2\%)$ stage IIA, 97 $(71.9\%)$ stage IIB, and 9 $(6.7\%)$ stage IIIB. Results: A complete response was noted in 51 patients $(91.1\%)$ of the radiation alone group, and 68 patients $(86.1\%)$ of the chemoradiation group. There was no statistical difference in complete response rate between the two groups. Overall survival rate at 5 years was $73.3\%$. According to stage, overall survival rates at 5 years were $88.9\%$ in stage IB, $85.7\%$ in stage IIA, $73.8\%$ in stage IIB, and $37.5\%$ in stage IIIB, respectively. According to treatment modality, overall survival rates at 5 years were $81.9\%$ in the radiation alone group, $67.0\%$ in the chemoradiation group (p=0.22). Disease-free survival rate at 5 years were $70.4\%$ in the radiation alone group. $68.5\%$ in the chemoradiation group (p=0.85) Locoregional control rates at 5 years were $76.1\%$ in the radiation alone group, $73.8\%$ In the chemoradiation group (p=0.70). Distant disease-free survival rates at 5 years were $83.9\%$ in the radiation alone group, $90.3\%$ in the chemoradiation group (p=0.59). Treatment-related bone marrow suppressions were noted in 3 $(5.4\%)$ patients of the radiation alone group, 14 patients $(17.7\%)$ of the chemoradiation group (p(0.05). Grade 2 vesical complications were noted in 14 patients of the radiation alone group. and 10 Patients of the chemoradiation group. Grade 2 rectal complications were noted in 2 patients of the radiation alone group, and 3 Patients of the chemoradiation group. One case of rectal perforation was noted in the chemoradiation group, and grade 2 small bowel obstructions were noted in 2 patients of the radiation alone group. There were no statistical differences in the incidence of vesicar, rectal, and small bowel complicaions between the two groups. Conclusion: No statistical difference was found between the radiation alone group and the chemoradiation group in terms of response, survival, and failure. but the incidence of bone marrow suppression was higher in the chemoradiation group.
