Effects of Cytokinin and Auxin on Organ Formation in Leaf Scale Tissue of Allium Sativum L. (Cytokinin과 Auxin이 Allium Sativum L.의 인엽배양(鱗葉培養)에서 기관(器官)의 분화(分化)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • In order to determine the effects of cytokinin and auxin on organ formation from tissue of garlic cloves, leaf blades and basal tissues contained meristem of garlic (Allium sativum L.) cloves harvested in 1979 (old cloves) and 1980 (new cloves) were explanted on a MS medium contained various levels of BA ($N^6$-benzyl amino purine), NAA (naphthalene acetic acid), and 2, 4-D (2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid). And some of the new cloves were explanted on a media contained BA and NAA after chilling treatment at $4^{\circ}C$ for 10, 20, 30 and 40 days. 1. In a culture of leaf blades of old cloves, shoots were differentiated on a medium supplemented with 2mg/l of BA and NAA. 2. Callus was grown as a quite straw-coloured globular mass on a medium contained 0.2 or 2mg/l 2.4-D. 3. As subcultures of globular calli, shoots and roots were differentiated on a medium contained 2mg/l BA and 0.5 or 1 mg/l NAA, whereas no shoots was shown on a conterol. 4. Shoots were differentiated in a culture of leaf blades of new cloves, but they were not in an old cloves in control, and better effect was shown on a medium contained 2mg/l BA and 1mg/l NAA. However shoots were no differentiated from leaf blades chilled at $4^{\circ}C$ for 30 or 40 days at the same condition. 5. Large numbers of adventitious shoots could be obtained from basal region of garlic cultured on a medium contained 1mg/l BA and 4mg/l NAA, or 2mg/l BA and 2mg/l NAA.

  • $(Ba_{1-x}Ca_x)(Ti_{1-y}Zr_y)O_3(BCTZ)$ powders for the Ni-electrode Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor(MLCC) were synthesized via hydrothermal treatment using mixed aqueous solutions of $BaCl_2{\cdot}2H_2O,\Ca(NO_3)2{\cdot}4H_2O,\ ZrOCl_2{\cdot}8H_2O$ and $TiCl_4$. Two component and three component systems were also extensively studied for basic data. BT, CT and BZ powders were crystalline but CZ was determined to be amorphous under the same synthetic condition. In BTZ system, Zr and Ti were completely soluble and Ca would be substituted for Ba up to ∼6 mol% in BCT. The submicron-sized $(Ba_{0.95}Ca_{0.05})(Ti_{0.80}Zr_{0.20})O_3$ powder of the target composition was successfully synthesized at $150{\circ}$ for 12h.

Flexible Piezoelectric Nanocomposite Generator Devices based on BaTiO3 Dendrite Nanostructure (티탄산바륨 덴드라이트 나노구조체 기반 플렉서블 압전 나노발전소자)

  • In this paper, the flexible piezoelectric nanocomposite generator(NCG) device based on $BaTiO_3$ nanostructures was fabricated via simple and low-cost spin coating method. The $BaTiO_3$ nanostructures synthesized by self-assembly reaction showed dendrite morphologies. To produce the piezoelectric nanocomposite(p-NC layer) which acts as an electric energy source in NCG device, the piezoelectric nanopowders($BaTiO_3$) were dispersed in polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS). Sequently, the p-NC layer was inserted in two dielectric layer of PDMS; these layers enabled the NCG device flexibility as well as durability prohibiting detachment(exfoliation) for significantly mechanical bending motions. The fabricated NCG device shows average maximum open circuit voltage of 6.2 V and average maximum current signals of 300 nA at 20 wt% composition of $BaTiO_3$ nanostructures in p-NC layer. Finally, the flexible energy harvester generates stable output signals at any rate of frequency which were used to operate LCD device without any external energy supply.

Properties of metal-ferroelectric thin film-silicon(MFS) structure using BaMgF$_{4}$ (BaMgF$_{4}$ 를 이용한 금속-강유전체박막-실리콘(MFS) 구조의 특성)

  • Use of a rapid thermal annealing (RTA) technique is shown to improve the properties of metal-ferroelectric BaMgF$_{4}$-silicon structures. The fluoride film was deposited in an ultra-high vacuum system at asubstrate temperature of 300$^{\circ}C$. A post-deposition annelaing was conducted for 10 seconds at 600.deg. C in a vacuum of 0.1 Torr, using a home-made RTA apparatus. The results showed that the resistivity of the ferroelectric BaMgF$_{4}$ film from a typical value of 1-2${\times}10^{11}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ before the annealing to about 5${\times}10^{13}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and reduce the interface state density of the BaMgF$_{4}$/Si interface to about 8${\times}10^{10}cm^{2}{\cdot}$eV. Ferroelectric hysteresis measurements using a sawyer-tower circuit yielded remanent polarization and coercive field values of about 0.5$\mu$C/cm$^{2}$ and 80 kV/cm, respectively. the typical remanent polarization of the BaMgF$_{4}$ films ont he (100) and (111) oreientated silicon wafers were 0.5 - 0.6 $\mu$C/cm$^{2}$ and that of th efilms on the (110) wafers was 1.2$^{\circ}C$/cm$^{2}$.

Barium Hexaferrite Thin Films Prepared by the Sol-Gel Method

  • Nano-crystalline hexaferrite $BaFe_{12}O_{19}$(BaM) thin films have been prepared by the sol-gel method. A solution of Ba-nitrate and Fe-nitrates was dissolved in solvent with the stoichiometric ratio Ba/Fe=1/10. Films were spin-coated onto $SiO_2$Si substrates, dried and then heated in air at various temperatures. In films prepared at a drying temperature $T_d=250^{\circ}C$ and a crystallizing temperature 650${\circ}C$, single-phase BaM was obtained. High coercivities were obtained in these nano-crystalline thin films, 4~5.5 kOe for hexaferrite. Polycrystalline BaM/$SiO_2$/Si(100) thin films were characterized by Rutherford backscattering (RBS), thermogravimetry (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA), x-ray diffraction (XRD), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), as well as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The perpendicular coercivity $H_{C\bot}$ and in-plane coercivity $H_{CII}$ after annealing at 650${\circ}C$ for 2 hours were 4766 Oe and 4480 Oe, respectively, at room temperature, under a maximum applied field of 10 kOe.

  • Cotyledon and epicotyl explants of P. aridum and P. zonale formed calli when cultured on MS medium supplemented with 2 mg/L NAA and 0.2 mg/L BA. Calli were subcultured on the same medium Upon transfer to MS medium with 0.1 to 0.5mg/L NAA and 0.25 to 2mg/L BA for P. aridum 0.1 to 0.5mg/L NAA and 1 to 2mg/L BA for P. zonale subcultured calli gave rise to the greatest number of shoots (0.78 shoot for P. aridum and 0.65 shoot per explant for P. zonale, respectively).Most shoots produced roots when cultured on 1/2MS basal medium. The regenerates were transferred to potting soil and grown to materity in a greenhouse.

  • Electrical and magnetic properties of $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3O_7-y$ sintered with $Bi_2O_3$ have been investigated by levitation experiment and the measurement of electrical resistivity. The effects of $Bi_2O_3$ addition on the microstructure of the sintered specimens were also investigated. The electrical resistivity in the normal state is smaller in $Y_{0.85}Bi_{0.15}Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$, where the Bi is substituted into Y site, than in the basic compound $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ due to improved microstructure. On the other hand, the microstructure is poor and electrical resistivity is larger in the $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ sintered with excess $Bi_2O_3$. It appears that the impurity in grain boundary affect the electrical properties significantly but has little effect on the magnetic property.

  • The physical and dielectric properties of complex perovskite compound Sr(Mg1/3Nb1/3)O3-Ba(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3(BMT) system were investigated as a function of composition. As the mole ratio of BMN was increased, lattice parameter ratio c/a was slightly increased, and density was increased in SMN-BMN system. However, in BMN-BMT system, lattice parameter ratio c/a and density were decreased with increasing the mole ratio of BMN. Dielectric constant, dielectric loss at $25^{\circ}C$ and 100kHz, and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency, the dependence of temperature in capacitance were increased with increasing the mole ratio of BMN in SMN-BMN-BMT system. These result can be explained according to the degree of order=disorder and dielectric constant.

  • The influences of A(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3(A=Pb, Ba and Sr) on the ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition of BaTiO3 ceramics has been investigated. The tetragonality of crystal structure decreased with increasing A(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 content at room temperature. A linear correlation between Curie point and the tetragonality of lattice was not observed. In all three systems the variation of Curie point with the mole fraction showed similar tendency that the Curie point decreased at lower mole fraction but gradually increased in the region of higher mole fractions, Diffuse phase transitions were observed at higher mole fractions. The variation of Curie points could be explained by internal stress and Jahn-Teller distortion of BO6 due to Cu2+, and it was thought that the diffuse character of phase transition was caused by compositional fluctuation.

  • The formation of the $YBa_2Cu_30_{7_\delta}$(Y123) thick films has been investigated by a surface diffusion Imcess between $3BaCu0_2$+2CuO composite coating powder and a $Y_2BaCuO_5$(Y211). This reaction has been studied in the temperature of $930^{\circ}C$ and $940^{\circ}C$ for 2h to 10h in an oxygen atmosphere. The Y211 substrates becomes covered by co-precipitation of Y123 grains and CuO inclusions. X-ray diflractotnctn. revealed that the lager consisted of an orthorhombic crystal structure. The maximum Jc of $400A/\textrm{cm}^2$ is abtained when the specimen was heat-treated at $930^{\circ}C$ for 6h on the Y211 substrate.
