A phosphate solubilizing bacterium. strain 60-2G, possessing a strong ability to solubilize insoluble phosphate was isolated from the rhizosphere of grass. On the basis of GC-FAME profile, carbon utilization pattern, and the DNA sequence of a conserved partial 16S rRNA gene, the 60-2G was identified as Enterobacter intermedium. The analysis by HPLC revealed that the strain 60-2G produced mainly gluconic and 2-ketogluconic acids with small amounts of lactic acid in broth culture medium containing hydroxyapatite. During the incubation period of the strain 60-2G in broth culture, pH of the medium decreased upto 3.8 while the soluble phosphate concentration increased. The reversed correlation between pH and soluble phosphate concentration indicated that the solubility of P was due to the produced organic acids. The sequence homology of the deduced amino acids suggested that E. intermedium 60-2G synthesized PQQ which is essential for the oxidation of glucose by glucose dehydrogenase.

The A60 class deck penetration piece is a fire-resistant system installed on a horizontal compartment to prevent flame spreading and protect lives in fire accidents in ships and offshore plants. This study deals with approximate optimization using discrete variables for the fire resistance design of an A60 class deck penetration piece using different surrogate models and a genetic algorithm. Transient heat transfer analysis was performed to evaluate the fire resistance design of the A60 class deck penetration piece. For the approximate optimization of the piece, the length, diameter, material type, and insulation density were applied to discrete design variables, and temperature, productivity, and cost constraints were considered. The approximate optimum design problem based on the surrogate models was formulated such that the discrete design variables were determined by minimizing the weight of the piece subjected to the constraints. The surrogate models used in the approximate optimization were the response surface model, Kriging model, and radial basis function-based neural network. The approximate optimization results were compared with the actual analysis results in terms of approximate accuracy. The radial basis function-based neural network showed the most accurate optimum design results for the fire resistance design of the A60 class deck penetration piece.

Organic photovoltaic effects were studied in a device structure of ITO/CuPc/Al and ITO/CuPc/$C_{60}$/BCP/Al. A thickness of CuPc layer was varied from 10 nm to 50 nm, we have obtained that the optimum CuPc layer thickness is around 40 nm from the analysis of the current density-voltage characteristics in CuPc single layer photovoltaic cell. From the thickness-dependent photovoltaic effects in CuPc/$Cu_{60}$ heterojunction devices, higher power conversion efficiency was obtained in ITO/20nm CuPc/40nm $C_{60}$/Al, which has a thickness ratio (CuPc:$C_{60}$) of 1:2 rather than 1:1 or 1:3. Light intensity on the device was measured by calibrated Si-photodiode and radiometer/photometer of International Light Inc(IL14004).

The $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3/(Ba_{0.6}Sr_{0.4})TiO_3$ [PZT(52/48)/BST(60/40)] heterolayered thin films were deposited on Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrates by using the RF sputtering method with RF powers of 60,70,80,90[W]. All thin films showed the peaks of the tetragonal phase. Increasing the RF power, dielectric constant and loss of the PZT(52/48)/BST(60/40)] heterolayered thin films were decreased. The thickness ratio of PZT and BST thin films was 1/1. The relative dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of the PZT(52/48)/ BST(60/40) heterolayered thin films were 562 and 13%, respectively.

Polynitro fullerenes were synthesized by reaction C-60 in benzen solution with a mixture of NaNO$_2$ and HNO$_3$. Hydrolysis of polynitro fullerenes in aqueous NaOH gave the corresponding polyhydroxylated fullerenes. Sulfonation reaction was carried out in pyridine solution of ClSO$_3$H. Infrared spectra of the resultant fullerene derivatives showed the characteristic IR bands, corresponding to absorptions of O-H, N-O, and SO$_3$Na functions. Electric resistivity and thermal transmittance of wool fiber absorbed with the water-soluble C-60 were investigated. Thermal transmittances of wool fiber were increased with increasing water-soluble C-60 concentrations, but electric conductivity were decreased with raising water-soluble C-60 uptake values.

The interrelationship between the differentiation and expression of mRNA for transferrin in the HL-60 leukemia cell line was studied. Transferrin mRNA was expressed in HL-60 leukemia cells and the amount was 50% of that in the positive control cell line, HepG-2 cells. The expression of $T_f$ mRNA in HL-60 cells was not regulated by IL-1, IL-6 and $TNF-{\alpha}$, respectively. The expression of $T_f$ mRNA in the differentiated cells into a granulocyte lineage by DMSO, or all-trans RA, was up-regulated (160-170% of control cells); whereas, the expression was not regulated in the differentiated cells into a macrophage lineage by PMA. These results suggest that the differentiation to a granulocyte lineage of HL-60 leukemia cells appear to be related with the upregulation of transferrin mRNA expression.

This thesis collected words, feelings, and psychological images expressed in female faces in their 20s and 60s. The comparative analysis of the characteristics will be based on the effective image of direction and improvement. Through the analyzed station of word of images collected, female faces in 20s of image are positive images such as pretty, cute, and elegant; however, there were also negative images such as gloomy, sharp, and stubborn. Female faces in 60s image are negative image such as scary, gloomy, sharp, and stubborn. To the analyzed station of word's tendency (usually expressed appearance), external-oriented tendency significantly developed in their 20s and 60s. It shows that the importance of appearance is emphasized in women face image in 20s and 60s.

(+)-Catechin inhibited the growth and induced the differentiation of HL-60 human leukimia cells. The degree of a differentiation by (+)-catechin during the differentiation, the expression assay, To understand the molecular mechanism of (+)-catechin during the differentiation, the expression level of oncogenes was detected by Northern blot analysis. c-Myc mRNA level was reduced after treatment with (+)-Catechin (10-4), however, the expression of c-jun was increased with a concentration dependent manner in HL-60 cells. These results showed that the differentiation and antiproliferation of HL-60 cells against (+)-Catechin was related to the reduction of c-myc and the induction of c-jun expression.

For the search of anticancer compounds from natural products, 43 plants were extracted with benzene and methanol, separately, and the extracts were screened for the cytotoxicity against L1210 and HL60 cancer cell lines. From the results, 22 samples in benzene extracts showed cytotoxicity against L1210 cells and 23 samples against HL60 cells, respectively. However, any methanol extracts did not exhibit cytotoxicity against two cancer cell lines, it suggested that cytotoxic compounds seemed to have low polarity. $ED_{50}$ values less than $5\;{\mu}g/ml$ were observed in 14 and 9 samples in benzene extracts against L1210 and HL60 cancer cells, respectively.

A single-layered radial line slot array (SL-RLSA) antenna etched on a substrate and fad by a rectangular waveguide is presented in the 60 ㎓ band. The design curves are obtained by an efficient electromagnetic coupling analysis using Ewald Sum technique and Shanks transformation. The antenna has rectangular waveguide feed structure using a rectangular waveguide-to-radial line transition. The prototype antenna of 10 cm-diameter was tested and the gain of 31 ㏈i and the efficiency of 38% were measured at 60 ㎓.
