  • Purpose: This study aims to optimize the adhesive strength of epoxy adhesive when applied to tiles, addressing frequent issues of adhesion degradation observed in indoor interiors. The degradation often leads to costly repairs and maintenance, highlighting the need for improved adhesive formulations and application techniques. Methods: Employing the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology integral to Six Sigma and utilizing MINITAB for data analysis, this research focused on critical factors like curing time, application method, and mixing ratio. The Taguchi Experimental Design within the Design of Experiments (DOE) framework was applied to determine the impact of these parameters on adhesive strength. Results: The analysis facilitated by Taguchi's method led to notable improvements in adhesive workability and consistency. It identified the optimal combination of factors that significantly increase adhesive strength, evidenced by the improvement in signal-to-noise ratio and I-MR control charts. Conclusion: By applying a structured statistical approach through Six Sigma and the Taguchi method, the study successfully pinpointed optimal conditions for epoxy adhesive application on tiles. This contributes to quality management in the manufacturing and application processes of epoxy adhesives, ensuring enhanced durability and reliability in indoor tiling applications. The findings offer a significant methodological framework for future material optimization research.

  • This research has analyzed the differentiated influence of organizational variables(an organization's learning culture and organizational support networks) and personal variables(the individual's motivation to learn and self-efficacy) on the process of gaining and using of knowledge. These two variables have been regarded as the major variables for the successful learning of 6Sigma, according to Social Cognitive Theory. In addition, this research has proven the role structure of the abovementioned two variables through a suitable methodology(Hierarchical Linear Model). In regard to this methodology, the different hierarchical level of the personal variable and organizational variable was especially focused on, and the effect of interaction between the high level and the low level was considered in detail. Considering the current situation, in that the importance of organizational factor and personal factor has been emphasized but the accurate role of each variable has not been verified, the research model is thought to help to establish an effective strategy to implement 6 Sigma.

  • The real estate management includes not only the brokerage, property management, development, investment and consulting which are related to real estate handling, but also the human resources who deal with the real estate business. The level of management quality of Korean real estate business is rather poor. This paper deals with management innovation of real estate management using Six Sigma methodology The main focus of this Paper is to develop strategy Planning, and is to select critical success factors for each strategy to make an advanced management system for real estate business. This paper is a case study, and the target company for this innovation is ERA-Korea Company. Seven strategies are proposed, and for each strategy several critical success factors are suggested. Through this case study, the authors hope that a management quality model for real estate business is proposed, and an improved management method can be adopted in the other real estate companies.

  • As business competition gets together, there is much pressure on product development service organizations and manufacturing to become more productive and efficient. Product developers need to create innovative products in less time, even though the products may be very complex. To get this purpose, Six sigma methodology can be used. Six sigma is a strategic approach that works across all processes, all products, and all industries. The purpose of this paper is to develop the innovation strategy for shortening the lead time of the new product using six sigma method.

  • System is the organization of hardware, software, personnel and facilities needed to perform a designated function within a stated environment with specified results. The trend of modern systems is getting more complex and larger. The system is necessary for modern society but the minor malfunction of the system can result the enormous human and material losses. Recently it is being heightened the concern for system safety and required to be built and applied Safety Engineering standard Guideline for safety of complex and large-sized system. This paper describes the System Engineering Process model integrated with Safety Engineering and the establishment of standard safety guidelines for safety of product development using DMADOV Methodology of the Lean 6 Sigma.

  • This paper is concerned with a six sigma green belt training program. Comparative studies of existing training programs for three major companies (Samsung Electronics Company, Hyundai Motor Company, and LG Chemical Ltd.) and two consulting firms (Korean Standards Association and Korea Management Association) are made. Based on the comparative studies, a new green belt training program is proposed. The main focus of this program is on manufacturing, specially on cost and waste reductions, yield improvement, and operations with opportunity to improve capacity without major capital expenditure. The green belts take up to 4 or 5 days of intensive, highly quantitative training, roughly corresponding to the five macro phases of the six sigma methodology: define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. The six sigma tool sets for each phase are also specified.

  • As customer's needs change rapidly in recent days, the evaluation scale about service quality is changing against the variation of the customer's needs. It is fact that the need of change which established evaluation ways about service quality rise more and more. 6-Sigma activity, called "most innovative management strategy in 20th Century", have many problems apply to service company. The important one between these problems is the problem about Critical To Quality(CTQ) Selection caused from the absence of more precise evaluation system. The objective of this study is the development of methodology for CTQ selection coincide to service company. It is the basic logic that the way to regard MOT mainly effects about total customer satisfaction index(CSI) as CTQ, after the development of the evaluation system based on MOT with customers. Also, the study focused on the case of department store progress to exhibit the reasonableness of this logic.
