  • ROK armed forces conducted exercise for something limited "Civil Factor" of Civil-Military Operations at the Liberalized Area in North Korea by using ROK battle simulation model and a linked US simulation model such as JNEM during ROK-US combined exercise period. However, they conducted exercise by exchanging with messages only during each exercise, because of hard coding for "Civil-Factor" and various situations applied onto battle simulation model and JNEM. Fortunately, ROK armed forces arranged the 5 functionalities of Civil-Military Operations which is adopted with military situation in Korean Peninsular. Even more "Civil-Military Operations Simulation Model System" is developing since 2014 by ROK MND. Among the 5 functionalities of Civil-Military Operations, the administration is fundamental. Its detailed operational plan is hard to be quantitative subjects because it is too qualitative to be simulated. But we found a way to quantify, and described simulation flow charts for the 5 main subjects (including 13 tasks) of administration to verify relevance between its simulation results and other functionalities. So we suggested a simulation method which gets an objective suitability, also hope this will be helpful to the Civil-Military Operations exercise.

  • An equivalent drawbead model(EDM) for sheet metal forming analysis, which replaces complex drawbead geometries with drawbead forces in modeling the stamping dies with finite elements, is experimentally verified and applied to the numerical simulation of auto-panel stamping process. The drawbead restraining and opening forces of elliptical drawbead, circular drawbead, square drawbead, and step drawbead are obtained by performing the drawbead pulling test and compared with those of EDM and commercial code models(CCM). Better agreement with experimental measurements is found in EDM than CCM. Furthermore, the excellence of EDM is demonstrated in its application to the auto-body stamping analysis.

  • In this work, experiments on hybrid sounding rocket were conducted to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics and analyze longitudinal static stability. Tests were performed on 1/10 scale models of sounding rocket through Mach number ranging from 1.75 to 2.5 and for angle of attack from $0^{\circ}$ to $6^{\circ}$. Aerodynamic forces and moments were measured by means of a 4 component internal balance. With measured forces and moments, static stability characteristics of rocket were calculated. Tests were made for three models with different length to determine the effect of body length. The visualization of shock waves was carried out by Schlieren optical system to observe variations of shock waves with Mach number and angle of attack.

  • This paper presents a seismic response prediction method using vibration tests of cabinet-type electrical equipment installed in a nuclear power plant. The proposed method consists of three steps: 1) identification of earthquake-equivalent forces based on lumped-mass system idealization, 2) identification of a state-space-equation model relating input-output measurements obtained from the vibration tests, 3) seismic prediction using the identified earthquake-equivalent forces and the identified state-space-equation. The proposed method is advantageous compared to other methods based on FEM (finite element method) model update, since the proposed method is not influenced by FEM modeling errors. Through a series of numerical verifications on a frame model and 3-dimensional shell model, it was found that the proposed method could be used to accurately predict the seismic responses, even under considerable measurement noise conditions. Experimental validation is needed for further study.

  • The performance of a pontoon-type floating breakwater (FB) is investigated numerically with the use of a second-order time domain model. The model has been developed based on potential theory, perturbation theory and boundary element method. This study is focused on the effects of weakly nonlinear wave on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the FB. Hydrodynamic forces, motion responses, surface elevation, and wave transmission coefficient around the floating breakwater are evaluated for various wave and geometric parameters. It is shown that the second-order wave component is of significant importance in calculating magnitudes of the hydrodynamic forces, mooring forces and the maximum response of a structure. The weak non-linearity of incident waves, however, can have little influence on the efficiency of the FB. From numerical simulations, the ratio of draft and depth, the relationship of wave number and width are presented for providing an effective means of reducing wave energy.

  • Stresses occur in the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister due to the impulsive forces incurred in the accidental drop and impact event from the transportation vehicle onto the ground during deposition in the repository. In this paper, the comparative study of finite element analysis for stresses occurring in various models of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister due to these impulsive forces is presented as one of design processes for the structural integrity of the canister. The main content of the study is about the design of the structurally safe canister through this comparative study. The impulsive forces applied to the canister subjected to the accidental drop and impact event from the transportation vehicle onto the ground in the repository are obtained using the commercial rigid body dynamic analysis computer code, RecurDyn. Stresses and deformations occurring due to these impulsive forces are obtained using the commercial finite element analysis computer code, NISA. The study for the structurally safe canister is carried out thru comparing and reviewing these values. The study results show that stresses become larger as the wall encompassing the spent nuclear fuel bundles inside the canister becomes thicker or as the diameter of the canister becomes larger. However, the impulsive force applied to the canister also becomes larger as the canister diameter becomes larger. Nonetheless, the deformation value per unit impulsive force decreases as the canister diameter increases. Therefore, conclusively the canister is structurally safe as the diameter increases.

  • Recently, Start-ups has been emphasized as part of a career-breaking women returning to society policy. To this Policy, the relationship between the planned happenstance skills and the entrepreneurial intentions of a career-breaking woman was investigated, and the successful role model as an individual environmental factor and the moderating effect of social support forces was verified. The results of the survey analysis of 139 women who have experienced career cut-offs in the metropolitan area and Dae-gu and Gyeong-buk are as follows; First, the planned happenstance skills of career-breaking women affect a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intentions. Second, it was found that the moderating effect of the successful role model does not appear in the relationship between the planned happenstance skills of a career-breaking woman and the entrepreneurial intentions. Third, it was found that there was no moderating effect of the social support forces in the relationship between the planned happenstance skills and the entrepreneurial intentions of a career-breaking woman. Last, It was found that the entrepreneurial intentions, which is a personal psychological characteristic for career-breaking women is more directly affected than personal environments. In order to increase career-breaking women's the entrepreneurial intentions, it is necessary to develop psychological skill-building programs which can enhance the accessibility of start-ups and raise the perception of Start-ups. In addition, it is necessary to continuously expand exposure opportunities such as role models and success stories which succeeded in starting a business after a career break and to expand social support forces that can help with courage, advice, and change management to discover opportunities of start-ups.

  • Precast/Prestressed concrete segmental bridges with moderate range of span length normally have a constant section height for economic segment manufacturing. Inside sectional dimension is often controlled for design of non-prismatic section between supports when variable stiffness is required. It is usual, in the preliminary design stage, to adopt trial bridge sections by past experience or by approximately estimated member forces. Three bridge models of different member stiffness have been selected to investigate flexural stiffness effects on member forces for preliminary design stage. The selected bridge stiffness has been determined by the flexibility index from review of the practically usable sections.

  • This paper presents the modeling of geosynthetic-reinforced compacted soils and discusses the reinforcement effect arising from confining the dilatancy deformation of the soil by geosynthetics. A series of compressive shear tests for compacted sandy soil specimens wrapped by geosynthetics are carried out by quantitatively examining the geosynthetic-reinforcement effect, occurring from a confinement of the dilative deformation in compacted soils during shearing. In the test, the initial degree of compaction is changed for each series of sandy soil specimens so that each series has different degree of dilatancy characteristics. Herein, the axial forces working on the geosynthetics so as to prevent dilative deformation of compacted soils during shearing are measured. Furthermore, the elasto-plastic modeling of compacted soils and a rational determination procedure for input parameters needed in the elasto-plastic modeling are presented. And to describe the irreversible deformation characteristics of compacted soils during shearing, the subloading yielding surface (Hashiguchi (1989)) to the elasto-plastic modeling is introduced. Finally, the elasto-plastic finite element simulation is carried out and the geosynthetic-reinforcement effect is discussed.

  • LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) has been considered as the green energy. Thus, the demand of natural gas is keep increasing around the world, and various studies are actively under progress about the LNG storage tank. To calculate the seismic forces of actual LNG storage tank, FEM model has to include inner tank, outer tank, pile and soil to implement the interaction between structure and ground. So, this paper is represent the study about inner tank model of three cases using Malhotra method in EN 1998-4(European Standard). The results of calculation were compared, and the most suitable to inner tank model was suggested.
