The evaluation of maximum bite force in the occlusal rehabilitation of patient with Angle Class III malocclusion: a case report

  • The case report describes the occlusal rehabilitation of a male patient with Angle Class III malocclusion and its effect on maximum bite force. The main complaints of patient were masticatory difficulty and poor esthetic. The patient's expectations from the treatment were a good esthetic and function with a less invasive and relatively promptly way. Therefore, increasing of the occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) and then restoring the maxillary and mandibular teeth was chosen by the patient among the treatment options. At the beginning of treatment maximum bite force of patient was measured. Then an occlusal splint was provided to evaluate the adaptation of the patient to the altered OVD. Full mouth rehabilitation with metal ceramic restorations was made. After the completion of full mouth restoration, bite force measurement was repeated and patient exhibited increased maximum bite force. Full mouth restorative treatment in a patient with Class III malocclusion could be an effective treatment approach to resolve esthetic concern and to improve masticatory function related to maximum bite force.

선박용 엔진 MR 마운트의 최적설계: 최대 댐핑력 (Optimal Design of Magnetorheological Mount for Ship Engines : Maximum Damping Force)

  • This paper presents optimal design procedures of mount based on a magnetorheological(MR) fluid to isolate the vibration in heavy diesel engine system. At first, frequency response and force-displacement transmissibility methods are used to get required damping force that is necessary for effective vibration isolation. From this result, a new type of high damping force engine mount is proposed and the governing equation of Bingham plastic behavior of MR fluid in flow path is mathematically derived under cylindrical coordinates. Finally, parametric design optimization featuring finite element is performed using ANSYS software to get the required damping force in MR mount system which can be used to reduce engine vibration. Damping force of the MR mount is then determined as an objective function in this analysis based on ANSYS. Furthermore, Magnetic analysis is then applied in this process.

  • 지금까지 자성체에 미치는 전자기력을 계산하기 위해서는, 맥스웰 응력법, 가상변위법, 자하법, 자화전류법등이 널리 사용되어 왔으며, 이들은 자성체 덩어리 전체에 미치는 전자기력을 계산하는 데 있어 모두 정당한 결과를 가져온다고 보고 있다. 그러나 전자기력 밀도식의 완전한 형태에 대해서는 아직 까지도 논란이 있으며, 각 방법에 의한 표면 전자기력 밀도는 식과 수치해석 모두 다른 결과를 보인다. 본 연구는 전자기력밀도를 체적력으로 국한하여 가상공극법을 적용하였을 때, 모두 같은 형태의 식으로 도출이 됨을 해석식이 존재하는 모델을 통하여 보여준다. 즉, 가상공극 개념을 적용할 경우, 체적력 전자기력 밀도식의 통일 가능성을 보여 주는 것이다.

초전도 벌크의 자기적 특성을 위한 간편한 시스템 (Magnetic Force Properties of Superconducting Bulk)

  • To improve superconductor properties, the size of the crystal grains of the superconductor should be adjusted, the amount of electricity flowing through the superconductor should be increased, and the superconductor should be designed to withstand external magnetic fields. It is necessary to control the microstructure so that many flux pinning centers are developed inside the superconductor so that defects are generated physically or chemically, and the micro secondary phase for trapped magnetic flux must be dispersed inside the superconductor. In order to measure the superconducting magnetic force of the superconducting bulk in a simplified manner, the superconducting magnetic force was analyzed using an Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet of 3.80 kG. In particular, by delaying the growth of partially melted Y2BaCuO5 particles, we devised a plan to refine Y2BaCuO5 particles to effectively improve superconducting magnetic force, and analyzed superconducting magnetic force in a single crystal YBa2Cu3O7-y superconducting bulk using a gauss meter. The melted superconducting bulk traps 80% or more of the applied magnetic field, and can be used as a bulk magnet of high magnetic field magnetization applicable to electric power equipment.

  • Analyzing the information about climate change on Korean Peninsula is essential for the national defense. In this study, we used HadGEM3-RA model output (a member of CORDEX-EA) and analyzed the 3 operational weather factors (VMC, runway temperature, WBGT), which affect the aircraft field. The number of future limited days was quantitatively calculated based on the model outputs applying SSP1-2.6 and SSP5-8.5 and the operational limits of the previous three factors, and the spatial distribution, time series, and correlation of each result were analyzed. In conclusion, it was analyzed that the number of limited days by VMC would decrease, resulting from the rise in temperature and the drop in relative humidity. This means the operational environment in VMC will improve. On the other hand, the number of limited days by the runway temperature and WBGT would increase, resulting from the rise in temperature. This means the operational environment in runway temperature and WBGT will worsen.

Acoustic emission을 이용한 공구파손 및 chipping의 탐지에 관한 연구 (A study on detection of tool fracture and chipping using acoustic emission)

  • This study was investigated the feasibility of AE application on in-process detection of tool fracture and chipping. Carbon steel SM45C workpiece with longitudinal slots was turned interruptedly on a lathe. AE RMS signal at tool fracture was observed and also the tangential force and the feed observed at the time of tool fracture, the levels of tangential force and the feed force at the time of fracture decrease considerably. In chipping, high level AE signal was observed but there were no changes of cutting force. Peak AE RMS squared is proportional to the area of tool fracture and resultant force. Fracture model of tool fracture is proposed as $V_{p}$ = $C_{1}$ $E_{1}$F(.DELTA. A)$_{0.5}$ and peak AE RMS shows strong correlation with the fracture parameter F(.DELTA.A)$^{0.5}$.

  • Semiconductor piezoresistive type vibration sensor was fabricated by using semiconductor process and micromachining technology. To measure the micro electromagnetic force between coil and magnet, fabricated vibration sensor was used. Toapply micro electromagnetic force produced from the micro exciter, small-sized NdFeB permanent magnet was attached on the mass of the fabricated vibration sensor. The measured electromagnetic force are about 5~180dyne when the applied sinusoidal current of 1KHz in the range of 1.5~8mA. The measurement of micro electromagnetic forcewas performed by changing the distance between coil and magnet. Output characteristics of micro electromagnetic force according to the applied coil current were linear. Furthermore, output results were used to get the transfer constant that is important to decide the efficiency and the performance of the coil and magnet.

박판성형 마찰거동에 미치는 블랭크 홀딩력의 영향 (Effects of Blank Holding Force on the Friction Behavior in Sheet Metal Forming)

  • In order to examine the effect of the blank holding force on the friction behavior in the sheet metal forming, a sheet metal friction tester is designed and manufactured, which can measure friction forces in various forming conditions such as lubrication, die roughness, drawing speed, radius of die corner, blank holding force, etc., and the friction tests are performed, in which friction coefficients in various blank holding forces and pulling speeds are calculated using Coulomb's friction law. The friction test reveals that friction coefficient decreases as the blank holding force, the drawing speed and lubricant viscosity increase together or individually.

Analysis of three dimensional equivalent static wind loads of symmetric high-rise buildings based on wind tunnel tests

  • Using synchronous surface pressures from the wind tunnel test, the three dimensional wind load models of high-rise buildings are established. Furthermore, the internal force responses of symmetric high-rise buildings in along-wind, across-wind and torsional directions are evaluated based on mode acceleration method, which expresses the restoring force as the summation of quasi-static force and inertia force components. Accordingly the calculation methods of equivalent static wind loads, in which the contributions of the higher modes can be considered, of symmetric high-rise buildings in along-wind, across-wind and torsional directions are deduced based on internal forces equivalence. Finally the equivalent static wind loads of an actual symmetric high-rise building are obtained by this method, and compared with the along-wind equivalent static wind loads obtained by China National Standard.

접촉력 추정 정확도 향상을 위한 보행로봇의 마찰 토크 추정 (Estimation of Friction-torque to Improve Accuracy of Estimated Contact-force for a Walking Robot)

  • This paper introduces a method to estimate the contact-force of the leg of a walking robot and proposes a solution to a shortcoming of the previous study. This shortcoming was the deteriorating performance when estimating the contact-force whenever the rotation of each joint was reversed. It occurred because the friction-torque of each joint was not considered. In order to solve this problem, a friction-torque model for a robot leg was developed based on repetitive experimentation and used to improve the contact-force estimation performance. We verified the performance of the proposed method experimentally.
