  • In this paper, the 2.4/5GHz dual band was used to ensure the reliability and stability of the wireless AV surveillance system using the existing 2.4GHz band. The proposed system supports dynamic channel allocation and channel change technology to avoid interference from other signals (Wifi, Bluetooth, etc.), reduces maintenance costs incurred when building wireless CCTV, and can be linked with existing wired CCTV. The service area of the A/V surveillance system used can be expanded.

  • A dual band I/Q modulator which converts baseband input signals to 2.4GHz or 5GHz RF output has been proposed. The dual band I/Q modulator for 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless LAN applications consists of $90^{\circ}$ phase shifter and wideband mixer. The I/Q modulator showed 15dB conversion loss at 2.4GHz and 16dB conversion loss at 5GHz. The sideband suppression is about 15dBc at 2.4GHz and 16dBc at 5GHz. Measured data shows 8.5% EVM at 2.4GHz, and 10% EVM at 5GHz for QPSK with symbol rate of 11Mbps. A carrier rejection is about 40dBc at 2.4GHz/5GHz band, and the I/Q modulator satisfied the output wireless LAN spectrum mask with baseband input signal.

  • CMOS LC VCO for tri-bind wireless LAN applications was designed in 1.8V 0.18$\mu$m CMOS process. PMOS transistors were chosen for VCO core to reduce flicker noise. The possible operation was verified for 5.8GHz band (5.725$\~$5.825GHz), 5.2GHz band (5.150$\~$5.325GHz), and 2.4GHz band (2.412$\~$2.484GHz) using the switchable L-C resonators. To linearize its frequency-voltage gain (Kvco), optimized multiple MOS varactor biasing technique was used for capacitance linearization and PLL stability improvement. VCO core consumed 2mA current and $570{\mu}m{\times}600{\mu}m$ die area. The phase noise was lower than -110dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset for tri-band frequencies.

  • In this paper, a design method for a compact slot antenna for 5.8 GHz RFID band (5.725-5.875 GHz) is studied. The proposed slot antenna is size-reduced by bending both ends of the straight slot in "I"-shape, and a rectangular feed patch is located inside the slot. The effects of slot length, location of feed patch, and width and length of feed patch on the antenna performance are examined. A prototype antenna with optimized parameters for 5.8 GHz band is fabricated on an FR4 substrate and tested experimentally to verify the results of this study. The experimental results show that the frequency band for a VSWR < 3 ranges 5.72-6.13 GHz (bandwidth 410 MHz), and it corresponds fairly well with the simulated band 5.64-5.97 GHz (bandwidth 330 MHz). The fabricated antenna shows good radiation performance such as maximum power density in both directions normal to the slot plane, low cross-polarization level of < -20 dB, and realized gain > 0 dBi within the frequency band.

  • In this paper, a design method for a compact dual-band coplanar waveguide-fed slot antenna using SRR(split-ring resonator) conductor is studied. The SRR conductor is loaded inside a rectangular slot of the proposed antenna for dual-band operation. When the SRR conductor is inserted into the slot, the original rectangular slot is divided into a rectangular loop region and a rectangular slot region, and frequency bands are created by the loop and slot, separately. A prototype of the proposed dual-band slot antenna operating at 2.45 GHz WLAN band and 3.40-5.35 GHz band is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a dimension of 30 mm by 30 mm. Experiment results show that the antenna has a desired impedance characteristic with a frequency band of 2.38-2.51 GHz and 3.32-5.38 GHz for a voltage standing wave < 2, and measured gain is 1.7 dBi at 2.45 GHz, and it ranges 2.4-3.2 dBi in the second band.

  • In this paper, we present a compact Ultra-Wideband band-pass later with notched band at fireless-LAN band using a band-pass and band-notch filter. The structure of our proposed band-pass filter is very simple, and the DGS(Defected Ground Structure) structure is used to get the low-pass filter characteristic, and an embedded open-stub structure is used to get the notched filter. Our proposed band-pass filter can be much smaller than a cascaded filter. As a result of measurement, the insertion loss is less than 0.7dB throughout the pass-band of $2.21GHz{\sim}10.92GHz$, the return loss is more than 17dB and the group delay maximum variation is 0.24ns and a notched band is at $5.3GHz{\sim}5.7GHz$.

  • In this paper, we proposed the small planar monopole antenna with modified ground plane for UWB communications. The proposed antenna not only shows Ultra-Wideband characteristic(3.1~10.6 GHz) suitable for UWB communications but has partially notched-band characteristic to reject 5 GHz WLAN band(5.15~5.35 GHz, 5.470~5.825 GHz). The proposed antenna improved impedance matching through two slits on ground plane, and the rejection band was induced by two ${\lambda}$/4 open stubs on center of two slits. Fabricated antenna satisfied VSWR${\leq}$2 in 2.88~10.83 GHz except for the band rejection of 5.08~5.83 GHz.

  • Because of an rapid increase of using a wireless Internet, the originally used communication of 2.4 GHz band was saturated and crossed and there were some problems. According to this, the development of a wireless Internet technology of 5 GHz Band proceeded. In the thesis we researched a Square Slot Microstrip Patch Antenna available in 5 GHz band of wireless communication. The research designed and analyzed the Antenna through HFSS. Ultimately, we compared and analyzed made Antenna through a Network Analyzer.

  • In this paper, we propose a design of a triple-band microstrip circular patch antenna. The proposed antenna generates the triple frequency resonance at 1.85GHz(LTE), 2.45GHz(ISM) and 5.5GHz(WLAN). Firstly, we design the dual-band antenna. The dual-band antenna consist of the circular patch, slits, and the slot. The circular patch and slot are designed for dual frequency of 2.45GHz and 5.5GHz, respectively. And then the dual-band antenna is combined with additional arm-shaped structure for the triple-band characteristic. The arm-shaped structure is operated as the dipole. It is designed for lowest frequency of 1.85GHz. Each part of the antenna unites to a new structure. In order to design the proposed antenna automatically and optimally, APSO algorithm is adopted. During APSO, the mismatch of the proposed antenna is resolved. The optimal designed antenna has an acceptable return loss(-10dB) at each bands(i.e, 1.85GHz, 2.45GHz and 5.5GHz).

  • Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) has adopted a new rule that can provide a 1,200 MHz unlicensed spectrum to maximize the public benefits in the 5.925 ~ 7.125 GHz(6 GHz) band by expanding unlicensed broadband into the 6 GHz band while also ensuring that licensed services that operate in the band continue to thrive. In Korea, the M/W band of 6 GHz has been reallocated to introduce unlicensed services in the 6 GHz band. Considering the national interests, the entire 1,200 MHz will be supplied for the indoor uses, but only the 500 MHz of the lower bandwidth (5925 ~ 6425 MHz) will for the outdoor uses under the limited power to protect the incumbent services. The introduction of unlicensed devices is being actively promoted through the reallocation of the 6 GHz M/W band, but since it is desperately necessary to prepare technical requirements to operate them in Korea. In this paper, the US 6 GHz unlicensed rules has been analyzed, these results will be utilized for establishing Korean technical standards with the unlicensed spectrum expansion.
